@clusterfak Well these cars aren't like regular cars you find in yards. They probably have security guards that walk around to keep an eye out for taggers
Wow, that was a smoothly dope video I never have seen a circus train so lengthy!!! When I was a kid in the late 80's my father took me to San Diego and I remember we went to a railroad track to watch for trains and they had some several Barnum & Bailey circus train cars parked on an off track switch line in that general area. Near them was a BIG PILE OF HORSE SHIT. So, as odd as this sounds, everytime I think of the Barnum & Bailey Circus in San Diego for over 20 years, I think of Horse Shit!
@trainkids Well you might be right ......... perhaps that's what it was but the truth is perhaps despite the cloudiness on my part from what it was from these days - everytime I think of Barnum & Bailey Circus in San Diego I think of a PILE OF SHIT. No pun intended but your Chargers are that equivalent to a pile of shit - they don't even show in the playoffs with the big season records they attain. Tell you what - the next Circus train that leaves San Diego - MAKE SURE THEY'RE ON IT!!!
This is great-- I was hoping someone would get the Circus Train when it left San Diego!! Excellent shot, as I can even make out the individual car numbers as they go by. I notice the "big animal cars" are at the end of the coaches here, right before the flat cars, which is unusual (they are usually up front), but they do that sometime depending on destination and how they have to break the train down there. Really awesome and excellent video!!
The first two cars (RBBX 84804 and RBBX 84803) are officially classified as "COFC" or "Containers on Flat Cars" and carry all sorts of general supplies that the circus uses in its shows. 84803 (the flat car) was built 1967 for Morrison Car Leasing and 84804 was built in 1973 for the Grand Trunk Western RR. They were modified by RBBB Circus in 1974 and 1989 at their Florida facility. These cars are usually near the rear of the train, but this was a short move.
Thank You so much for that info ! ! ! I have puzzled over this for about 2 or 3 seasons and never could see any activity around those cars when they were in town. Your answer makes perfect sense ! ! !

My goodness, that's a helluva long train.
Also, very grey. You'd think a circus train would be painted in bright colours.

@SteamboatWilley Yeah, and giraffe heads sticking out of the cars, clowns juggling on the rooftops.
