yeah the fight with the Jeniffer monster in the TG16 version has nothing on this, in the port she says help me before the fight even starts. In this version she's actually happy to see you and it's evident how brutal and painful the transformation is. and the evil laugh every time the monster comes back or kills you makes it even more engaging.

Well she didn't exactly emerge from a freaking cupboard, now, did she? You save her from a mindfuck of a boss after her spirit gets dragged into an alternate dimension by a bunch of demon hands. I don't think she is ALIVE by this point. Besides, "Thank you, goodbye." Is a little bit of an odd choice of words for a doppleganger to use, is it not? "You... You killed me!" Would've made sense. Bottom line: She was possessed/infected/whatever by the creatures. You bring her back in SH2.

That's right Jeniffer is DEAD at the end of splatterhouse 1 The reason people think otherwise is mostly due to poor translation of Splatterhouse 2. in the intro the mask says "She doesn't have to die Rick." which is where most of the trouble comes in. Also in the Japanese version it's clear that the first few levels are the ruins of west mansion, this is never mentioned in the American version. Lastly some people just can't put together the if she died how is she alive at the end of 2 thing.

Don't see the false tone in her voice as an evil taunt, either, just see it as bad voice acting. She is probably the real Jen, as she does say "Thank You", after all...

The japanese version of the game probably says that Th boss was the Real Jennifer that Rick killed, and in Splatter house 2 He has to return to the mansion to bringing her back to life by entering the Void and rescuing her soul.

I know about West Mansion, but it's not wise to speculate, it just makes more sense that it's the real Jen. Even if Namco, themselves, tried to come up with an arbitrary plot twist concerning Jen's reappearance, it's just like Capcom trying too hard to come up with a load of bullshit explaining how Wesker survived and whose ending was the true ending in the original.
