Jasper, Nice K.i.s.s tie.(kiss=keep it simple stupid) I would however say you could call this a different name as you dont use wood duck thus No wd ya get it? lol.
Call it whatever you want mate. LOOKS like a chironamid and the fish will take it as such, that makes it a very simple buzzer pattern. I've tied thousands over the years. Nice video though.
It's not a buzzer it's a mayfly! Definitely effective for imitating Baetis-complex hatches on tailwaters in the Western USA. I'm speaking from experience :D Great fly. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the modifications to original the recipe, but I'm willing to give them a shot.
I love this fly! I have caught hundreds of trout on this fly especially during the fall and winter months and early spring. It does particularly well when fished as a dropper off of a glo-bug. I think it does a good job imitating a midge larvae. Don't let the tiny size of this fly fool you. I tie my wd40's with brown barred hen saddle fibers for the tail. I also tie them in sizes 20-24. I am going to try out the brown Darlon like in this video.
hahaha, that's nuthin. some flies take tons and tons of steps. for a fly like this, you'd just tie a bunch of 'em, especially since this is a relitively easy tie.
Uni? UTC? Know what solar system you live in?

Its just a very sparse tie to imitate very small nymphs. I usually use these in sizes 20-22.
