And this is why I hate Bethesda games and I give Skyrim a personal score of 6/10 for being a broken beta piece of shit. I have never played more games that are more broken and shitty than Bethesda games. In don't know if anybody else has this, but with the quest "Season Unending", I talked to Jarl Baalgruff (Whiterun), then I have to talk to Tallius and Ulfric, however I talked to Jarl Baalgruff about Ulfric's axe before I accepted Season Unending, option to talk to either Tallius or Ulfric regarding the truce is not available despite the white arrow above them. The only way I could do this is by going through with the axe quest... any ways around this without removing the Whiterun Jarl?

I even had Dawnstar once instead of Winterhold as an 'option'. The saving thing did wonders. I even did it before I was stuck without waiting (T). It worked! You just need to be sitting down and talking a little. Thx!

You don't need to have a sound folder! Just paste the sound folder you download i to Skyrim/Data/ and you're done.

Then press enter. Guaranteed to work. Don't listen to these other methods.

1. wait till ur stuck

2. wait a few hours(wait option ingame)

3. use Quick Save

4. Use Quick load

do this everytime your stuck on esbern's speech

Man this game is buggy. I thought maybe I said the wrong stuff, and the negotiations stopping was the game's way of telling me I somehow failed the quest.

Btw, I actually found a great way of fixing Esbern forever! If you don't wanna force complete the quest by using the console:

1- I couldn't paste the direct link to where to get the files, just google "skyrim-esbern-bug-no-voice-lo­cked-door", and you should find the first link on google.

2- Download esbern's sound data file - it's a small file and no viruses or crap like that!

3- The files just go under Skyrim/Data/(paste "sound" dir here)

Ok so the glitch that is happening with me is esbern has absolutely no voice files or anything, so everytime it goes to him to speak, everyone just kinda looks at him and he walks around the room like "i'm goign to hold your attention for as long as i can". So, looked up this video, went back, waited for an hour. Loaded the auto save, and everything was fixed XD. Thanks so much for this!
