It was a missed call, no doubt about it. But after Carmelo regained control of the ball, Wright (i think he was on him) should've wrapped him up instead of trying to body him up. You can't take chances in a situation like that, just grab and DON'T LET GO.

And to be honest, you guys were up 4 points with 30 seconds and the ball. Then Dirk took a bad fadeway shot and gave the Nuggets a chance.

The reason he backed off him and put his hands up was that melo started getting into a shooting motion and he didn't want to be called for a SHOOTING foul. They were trying to give an intentional non-shooting foul, so he just tried to bum him, get the call, and then back off.
