  • I'm just sitting here forever alone...

  • The concept is cool but a t- shirt? Really? Is it really so expensive to get some thread that is not so see through?

  • whats with the vagina medallion?

  • am i the only one who would legitimately wear this? it's too cool!

  • omg...that's exactly how i feel when i go to the mall....and every other store for that matter XD

  • Thats great :) i dont like the broach though

  • I'm going to get married in a few months and we simply do not have the money for an expensive dress. I'm definitely going to use this video and be a little more crafty during the process to make it as personal as possible :)

  • What a cool and inspirational tutorial :)! Even the "minimalist"-style wedding dresses are so expensive.....so it's better to make your own!

  • Whats the title of the song at the beginning?

  • @nikajamp Canon in D.

  • @KandiiKoated1 Thanks:)

  • tht good

  • I'm gonna base myself on this to make my own dress. I'm playing the snow queen in the musical of our music academy!! So thnx to you threadbanger

  • @pinkxdollypop what musical is it?

  • @1musicalmad

Haha, it's the snowqueen. It's going to be played in the city theater lol... xp

  • @pinkxdollypop cool by any chance do you know where i could get a free download of it?

  • Seriously.....? It's your WEDDING, not a freakin' teenage prom party....SPEND THE MONEY, IT'S WORTH IT

  • @frankieinnatendu I'm sorry, I have to disagree to a point. A wedding dress is important, and is worth spending the money on...providing you don't go into debt over it. If you want an expensive dress then start saving up for it WAY ahead of time, that way it's not as much of a burden if any.

I mean, the reality of it is it's one day..while VERY important, it's still one day. So if you can save money and still feel wonderful on your day, then why not? I'm having my dress done under $100.

  • 0:14 This is funny : the dress with less fabric is the most expensive :b

  • i so could have saved myself 900 dollars!

  • can't we make a dress pattern to make life a whole lot easier?

  • Wow that is amazing! I love it!

  • Did any other guys watch this just because it was Threadbanger?

  • @SOMEGUYONU2B

    yup

  • @SOMEGUYONU2B yusss xD

  • @Blondezbeauty threadbanger just posted a vid saying that they were coming back!

  • this is great for halloweens though! if u like something scare just add some antique beads and dark laces..

  • @ThreadBanger Can you email me what made you start doing this? And my email is N_Lauryn@yahoo.com

  • depends on where you live, if its really really hot and humid and you want to have a summer wedding. cotton would be the most comfortable. this is just a basic idea. if you run with you could make it as simple or ornate as you wanted. that's the beauty of diy.:) if cotton is a problem you could use any other kind of fabric honestly.

  • That dress looks too low at the top and too short at the bottom and cotton wouldn't be a good fabric for a wedding dress

  • i kinda wanna get married JUST to make this....

  • You could also spend a little extra money and just buy the fabric and do everything else the same. Cotton wouldnt be the greatest fabric for a wedding dress.

  • Project Runway anyone?

  • lol just have the wedding in a walmart and you're all set to go

  • Would be cute as an everyday maxi dress!

  • That's actually a really cute dress!

  • WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

    I LOVE IT

  • WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

  • I love your pins! >.<

  • how about i buy a bed sheet

  • omg this is so cool!!!

  • Wow . . .

  • Very cute, and a great idea!

I am getting married in a year and I found the veil I want but it is $99!!! Way too expensive to me! I was wondering, could y'all do a tutorial on making your own veil??? (maybe something like simple but long and flowing, there's one on jjshouse.com)

    Thanks! :)

  • @emitron69 Tulle is a little tricky to sew with but you might try popping off to your fabric store and looking for a sheer/mesh/ tulle fabric and working with it. Try putting seam/bias tape around the edges. You can always hot glue it to a broach, comb, headband, or combo to attach it to your hair.

Vogue pattern v8569 is an excellent pattern. I can't post a link here so to the googles! You'll see materials, length of fabric to work with and get a decent idea of how to attach it to hair pieces.

  • @emitron69 they have cheap veils at craft stores like michaels or hobby lobby too

  • Wow, thats actually really cute! Although i think i would add something else to the bottom to make it pouf out a bit more. Great idea tho!

  • Who would marry with this?

  • That's a really good idea ^_^

  • Abc

  • Thanks for posting! I just might do this for my prom dress. :)

  • Why would You want to have a dress made of t-shirt for your WEDDING?

  • @bittttermilk :: shrugs :: If the wedding isn't that big of a deal to you, but to your family, a rebellious streak my hit you. I could see it working beautifully for a beachy/casual wedding. You know, for the woman that never dresses fancy- the type that if you saw them in a dress at all you'd think "whoa." Personally, I'm going to make this dress for the fun of it. For my wedding? No. For prancing about in the sun? Yes, please.

  • @bittttermilk -- because it's cute, inexpensive, and made of a comfortable material!

  • can u make a video on a pintuck tank top? my sis rlly wants 1... thnx! XD

  • Comment removed

  • I totally dig that dress!!! God where was this video when I got married!! ha ha.. I kind of want to make a nice summer dress like that now!!

  • i saw undies XD

  • um... WOW!

  • This is very nice--so easy to alter into an everyday dress! You probably helped a lot of brides feel good about their small budget. :)

  • hey, dear threadbanger!

could you please help me, my room is so boring and i don't know how to give it a nice make-over. HELP! thanks alot,

  • this was amazing

  • ASSASSIN'S CREED COSTUME!!!!!!!!! please?

  • i didnt do the broach thing with the last panel.

also i cut it above the knee

    i also used purple tees.

now i have a cute summer dress :)

  • haha this is cool and creative but...not really wedding dress material. :p

  • Personally it doesnt really matter how much you spent on a wedding dress... its the marriage vows you are making to your partner for life. Ive seen many weddings on tv and in person as well. Ive seen a nude (wedding) bride or even in a white bathing suit bride. So for the comment that said" if you dont have 100 dallors for a dress for a wedding, you should not marry" just shows how shallow you are.

  • this a wedding you know,, its a girl's most special day and wearing a 10$ wedding dress wont make it any more special.....unless the person's a home less ... 100 $ is the minimum

  • @hellomorning1001

I think that it shouldn't matter how much you paid, because in the end, it's about the being with the person you love for the rest of your life and nothing's going to make it more speacial then it already is.

  • @hellomorning1001

I think that it shouldn't matter how much you paid, because in the end, it's about the being with the person you love for the rest of your life and nothing's going to make it more speacial then it already is.

  • @hellomorning1001 Really??? cuz I paid 6 bucks for my lovely wedding dress at a 2nd hand store......and I still look at that day as the best day of my life and it had NOTHING to with what I was wearing. I married the man I will grow old with 7 years ago & since I didn't feel that I had to have a big one-wear dress cluttering up my closet simply because I sold a kidney to pay for it, donated it. Thinking you have to spend spend spend to make that day special is vanity not love plain and simple.

  • @Christopherslady $6 bucks for your wedding dress?! YOU. ROCK. :)

  • @Treasures4Food Hahaha..Thanks!! I'm a thrift store junkie. Some women flaunt how much they spend on clothes...I flaunt how much I save...lol

I also think it's important to thrift because it reduces waste and doesn't support child labor or sweatshops.

  • @Christopherslady If you can save it, flaunt it!

  • @hellomorning1001 Are you the type of person that would rather let her children starve then go without THOSE SHOES! The reason why the wedding day should be the most special day to BOTH people is because of the commitment being made to each other. I hardly think that an old, happy couple who have been married for 50 years will be talking about how expensivly amazing her wedding dress was. I doubt a healthy marriage is born from the girl caring more about the price tag then the man she "loves".

  • @dodgyredhead i couldnt have said it better...thank you...unfortunately this is one of the many reasons we have high divorce rates.....wedding has become more of a fashion statement rather than a commitment to till death do u part.

  • @HelloWorld1947 here here!

  • This was an amazing tutorial! Possible prom dress? i think so!

  • I like it without the broach and personally I wouldn't use t-shirt fabric but aside from that I do like the basic concept.

  • Wouldnt it just be easier to buy some white fabric instead of all that cutting and sewing at the beginning?

  • That's really pretty. I could use a colored fabric and different colored strips for a dence/prom!

  • This is not for a wedding...perhaps some sort of toga or mummy party; but not a wedding

  • I don't think this is suitable for most weddings because it's too see-through and plain. Maybe if there were another layer underneath or simple embroidery design? But I will use this technique to make a cute and casual maxi dress. :)))

  • Cute idea for dress up costume or a casual event but too see thru (no lining) and plain for a weeding gown. She would look like she forgot her gown and was just wearing her pillowcase or something .

  • haha. not getting married, but it's a sweet idea for the bans on the top!!! if i were to get married.. i'd probably wear this! :)

  • Super cute idea - makes your wedding really personal. T-shirt materal is so much more comfortable than taffeta or whatever wedding gowns are usually made of. I would SO much rather wear this.

  • The dress is adorable, but no bride should wear it on her wedding day. Not even for the reception. Lieksrsly? Spend at least fifty and buy some decent fabric.

  • that dress is not flattering. sorry... my dress cost 50 shekels... at today's rate that is less than $14, although i got it 6 years ago, the dollar was probably higher then...

  • i wanna buy a sewing machine

    which one would you recommend?

  • @perolocooo .... I have a brother sewing machine and it works great spent like 70 dallors I think and still have it for 3 or 4 years now made alot of things with it.. good luck

  • I wonder that non of the best rated comments is something like " oh, i love to see her before she put on the dress "

  • All you really need to do is double up on t-shirts to line it, and it'll be wonderful. I'm planning on using this tutorial to make a prom dress.

  • if you can't afford at least 100 bucks for a wedding dress, maybe you shouldn't be getting married in the first place.

  • @eyebearah Perhaps some people don't want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on a dress that they will wear once. Maybe they'd rather save their money for something they actually need in the future.

  • @celest3alove who said thousands? i said at least 100. really? you can't splurge 100 for your wedding day? REALLY? being thrifty is good but really? you can't spare even $11 whole dollars? really? i've had meals that cost twice that.

  • @eyebearah Why spend more than neccessary on a wedding? It's not the wedding that matters, it's the marriage between the couple. And have you considered that it's not about how much you can spare, but about what you prefer for YOU. Some people don't want a big wedding, or a dress that will ultimately hang in a closet for years and years. This video is just showing that you don't have to waste your money on something so frivolous as an expensive wedding dress that you only wear once.

  • @celest3alove have you considered the fact that i said "if you CAN'T" rather than "if you prefer"? get off your high horse.

  • @eyebearah But you're assuming that the people who like, and would potentially make, this dress, can't afford a fancy "high-to-do" wedding. When the fact of the matter is that they can, but they'd rather be more economical and not waste their money focusing on a single day, when they could use it focusing on thier entire future.

  • @celest3alove go back and learn about conditional conjunctions. even if you ignore the fact that i used the contraction "can't" instead of the word "prefer," there is still the matter of me using the word "if." making an assumption would mean that i actually said "you can't afford" rather than saying "IF you can't afford."

you keep talking about setting money aside for the future. i understand if it was a matter of thousands, but this isn't even a matter of hundreds. it's a matter of tens!

  • @eyebearah while i sort of understand what you mean, you certainly can't think that everyone can afford $100 for a dress...right? even if they could, would you rather spend that on a venue? food? a cake? invitations? decor? definitely depends on the bride.

ps people who can't afford a dress should not get married? what the hell does that even mean?

  • @brandilyon my original statement said "if you can't afford at least 100 bucks for a wedding dress, maybe you shouldn't be getting married in the first place." it means it your budget is so tight that you CAN'T even spare at least 100 bucks on a dress, then you should probably focus on getting your life straight and being financially stable before even considering starting a family. making a marriage successful is a hefty responsibility. why make it harder with financial problems?

  • @brandilyon however, if you just simply WANT to spend 10 dollars on a dress because you're cheap or don't want a lavish wedding and you do have the means to be financially stable then by all means, make your hanes t-shirt dress. someone fired off the handle misunderstanding what i meant either because she's just belligerent or offended. in fact, @celest3alove if you're so keen on saving every single penny you have, allow me to donate a whole back of hanes t-shirts providing you send me pictures

  • @eyebearah i definitely understand that part of your statement, it just seemed a little aggressive to say that they probably shouldn't get married if they can't afford a dress. that said, i wouldn't make my own dress out of tshirts if i made my own dress at all (i probably wouldn't). that seems like it would stretch out pretty quickly and a wardrobe malfunction is the last thing you need on your wedding day.

  • thats realy good but could you do a prom dress one like (cinderella) a white one thanks :)x

  • that is smart

  • whatcha gonna do if you have boobs like the rest of America???

  • @l8yonfire77 Elastic! :D

  • im impressed. that actually doesnt look too bad. i would def add some more things to it so it looks more classy tho!

  • i just made this dress for my best friend sister wedding and it only cost me 10 dollar

to make it and omg everyone love it and the thing is she only spend 1,000 dollar on her wedding so this is as wounderful wedding dress making thing

  • i think i'll do this as a costume, not for a wedding day. great idea, but not my cup of tea.

  • It's not just about saving cash, it's a lovely personal touch and if you pull it off everyone will be talking about it for years to come! However I think I would splash out like £30 on some nice sheeny fabric and at least double it up so it isn't see through :-)

  • Yea really a tshirt dress? You might as well have had a wallmart wedding. You could see her panties through the dress. it was a good idea but I could have thought of adding more things to make it not look so cheap.

  • I can see her underwear LOL

  • i just realised your logo has the welsh dragon on it. AND IM FROM WALLEESS. shweeet.

  • this is brilliant

  • I actually think that this dress would be a really great idea for a casual wedding or for a beach wedding. I think that it is brilliant. Great Job.

  • I actually found a white prom dress and added my weddings ribbon coloraround the waist of the dress, i did a lil bow pinned in at the v-neck cause it was just a hair too low was 80 bucks but ppl thought i had a planner do it - fun and saved tons of money and still looked pro and polished

  • @toryroseiii I thrifted my wedding dress for $50 and everone thought I had gone out and spent tons of money on it :)

  • Really amazing!

  • really???? I am so not a big wedding person, but come on tshirt dress? PLEASE!! I got a pretty dress that was more of a tea length formal at a thrift store for maybe 4 bucks and it looked sooooo much better than that!!! You are very talented and i know you are only trying to help, but please do not put a bride in a t shirt dress!!!

  • you get married once..why not get a nice dress?

  • would be a nice as a summer dress in blue or something but would look so cheap as a wedding dress

  • cute but reallyyyyy needs lining

  • that would be super cute as a summer dress or a dress for a casual beach day but definitely not a wedding. maybe a backyard hick wedding

  • Omg i can't belive you actually made that out of six t-shirts... O.O

Will you make my wedding dress when i get married?

  • Hey, this is great! I made a costume for derwish dancers of garbage bags.

  • I´d rather be naked on my wedding day. I know not everybody can afford a luxurious wedding dress but who would really wear this?

  • @pitricander i would. i'm not tight on cash but i would rather wear this and go on an awesome honeymoon than wear something extravagant that costs an arm and a leg.

  • @pitricander yeah i wouldn't too. one thing it's fine if you have a nice body like the person in the video, otherwise realistically speaking that material will not flatter many people's body shape..... also depending on what kind of wedding it's going to be (i.e. if it's very casual, maybe yes, otherwise..... it'll look really weird).

  • looks like you cut up mens undershirts and made a dress... it would look good in silk...

  • i love this! i'm thinking of making my own wedding dress too. iwa thinking of going to get a dress at the second hand store and alter it, but this had brought me to a whole new dimention of diy wedding dress! the only problem is, i'm kinda chubby and i would just look like a sossage waddling down the isle. do you have any alternative to this design for girls like me?

  • @acmulhern I think just about anyone would look chubby in that dress, and if you have larger breasts than the model they would be popping out all over the place as well! Yoou can find gorgeous dresses second hand and have them altered by a tailor for not much money. They make all shades of lace to match gowns.a tialor could just add fabric.

  • @tigertbalm that's a lovely idea. and i love lace actually. thanks for the advice :)

  • this is awesome! I think I'm going to make a dress like this for the gala at my school! :)

  • I made my dress from a Goodwill find and some fabric from a surplus store who happened to have a huge surplus of fabric from an old bridal/formal shop. I think maybe I have spent $68 dollars so far... my dress was a Mad Men fashion inspiration and I can hardly wait to wear it. (my inspiration was the movie "Pretty in Pink" I had made a great Halloween costume in college from 2 Goodwill dresses. It was such a hit I figured what the heck, lets try it for my wedding too!!)

  • its so nice :) but you could make it better for like another 10-20$.

  • I think that this dress is perfect for halloween ;)

  • cool

  • what's the 2nd song? song around 3min of the video. :3! thanks

  • creative

  • you could make this in black for evening wear.. very cever idea!

  • thats was AWESOME...but a little simple X] still awesome though

  • I would like to get a printed vertsion of this dress. I tried to write them down, but I would have to watch it over and over again to get it all.

  • @kimandmush that's what the pause button is for....

  • I used this idea to make a candy rave outfit with rainbow colored fabric and mesh ^_^ woo!

    it was cute as hell!

  • @AcousticxGypsy could you put it as a video response ? Would love to see how others came out.

  • Is there any other styles, of wedding dresses, u can make by doing all that?

  • Incredible

  • very awesome idea but i doubt id wear it my weddng lol

  • this weDDinG dress is very cool i loved it!!!!

  • soooooooo creative!

  • anyone know where i can get a bodyform

  • @oxdreamingxo they made that form in an earlier vid. check the archives

they used water activated packing tape.

  • This gets popular, time for wet wedding dress contestants.

  • wow thats really cool!

  • omg is she actually wearing a string as a ring on her finger

  • Cool ~~

  • im so jealous about the last guy in the vid, i wish i could make my own clothes.

    =(

  • sweet

  • Oh wow!

  • this would be a cute dress in other colors too lol
