  • i have 14 gold fish and i hate when lion fish eat

  • @LauraDJRock We mostly feed chopped seafood.

  • the snack that smiles back

  • @4gregman My Boy prefers the crackers.

  • I'm guessing it's a bad idea to put other kinds of fish with these guys?

  • @star0984 They are peaceful if they cannot eat the other fish.

  • Those guys can swallow ;)

  • @violatormelms It is a quality I admire.

  • @CarlsAquarium

    Well, beautiful fishes anyway! :D

  • I love my lionfish. He's still a baby though. :)

  • @MissxHeaven93 Babies is cute.

  • You shouldn't feed feeder goldfish to a lionfish. They're too fatty and make an unhealthy meal.

  • @BlueRealta They also contain an enzyme called thiamese, if you feed too much of them they cause a thiamine deficiency, this was just for the video.

  • I know its the foodchain and what not but that makes me sad! I'm getting a goldie as a pet. And not in one of those death trap bowls either. A 30 gallon tank.

  • @eternallysouless It is the food chain, I had to work it out. Sweet goldfish tank.

  • lol watch background at 137

  • @pacmanfrog4724 I looked, I do not see.

  • @DogWarrior327 They would be okay for 15 minutes or so.

  • I wan't a fish Tank that big so bad and 5 Lion Fish in it, One Queen Trigger fish, 3 Clownfish and One pufferfish.

  • @falconpuncher677 I want you to have such a tank as well.

  • bad ass, i have 2 :)

  • @SKIPPERAFRO :D

  • Alri mate, im startin my first marine aquarium and want a lionfish, what is the smallest size fish i could put in with it??

  • @bambishelley It depends on the size of the lionfish, choose fish that have a diameter too large to fit into the lionfish's mouth.

  • Hi, just got a lionfish caught in the Atlantic (pest), how can I make him eat frozen food? Mollies are quite expensive around here, also, do I feed everyday or every other day? Thanks.

  • @JPSika08 Watch video #945 Feeding the Lionfish Shrimp. If you have another fish that will eat the frozen food the lion fish will learn faster.

  • what are those fish is compatible with lionfish?

  • @varmman They can live with almost any fish that they can not eat, very few fish will ever bother them.

  • lionfish are so fricking awesome!!!

  • @darkshredder95 Yes.

  • damn they annihilated those feeder fish!!

  • @negligentinmate It was quick.

  • do any of the lionfish ever accidentally poison each other when they get so close? i always wonder that:]

  • @soyxdsauce They do not seem to be sensitive to their own venom, I have seen large lionfish eat small lionfish without problems.

  • Poor goldfish..... :( :,(

  • Poor goldfish..... :(

  • @Ahokafan101 It is sad, but it is nature.

  • It's interesting that the goldfish don't try to swim away. Maybe they are disoriented from being in salt water.

  • @AquaticCastle They do the same in fresh water, they are disoriented in any new tank.

  • Sorry could I keep 2 lionfish in the same tank

  • @Fishyboy1998 Yes.

  • Hi could u help me please. I would love to keep lionfish they are beautiful, could I keep 2pm McKay in the same tank, I want to keep a black one and a white one. Can u please help me????

  • @Fishyboy1998 They can live as many to the tank as you have room for, the bigger the tank, the more you can have, use a good filter for the waste.

  • If you guys like this fish so much, why not just leave it in the ocean where it belongs??

  • @alsh2010 We like all fish, for this particular fish there is no shortage of them, in the Caribbean they are invasive, and for other fish some are only found in aquariums, their natural environment having been destroyed by human activities. When people have an aquarium it makes them more aware of the environment, if the owner of a forestry or a mining company loves fish etc.. they are more likely to take more care with their waste products and not just dump them into the rivers or sea's.

  • pretty fishes

  • @sabrinastar2005 Yes, very pretty.

  • beautiful fish! I would like to keep some one day :). just out of curiosity, can u keep one by itself? What kind of fishmates cud it stay with? Also whats the minimal tank size for a single lionfish?.

  • @Cyworldabcd Yes they can live by themselves, or with any fish that they cannot get into their mouth's. Minimum for a medium sized lionfish would be 50 gallon.

  • @CarlsAquarium Thanks for the reply. how about a dwarf lionfish? Cud they stay is something around 20 gallons? Maroon clownfish as a tankmate?

  • how long can these goldfish survive in salt water?

  • thats exactly what lion fish are doing in florida and the bahamas their destroying reefs and our native fish thats why we have to kill them as much as we can. Every where in dive shops and else where that has to do with fishing and the ocean have signs saying to kill them and what not.

  • @Aarondz1 When non-native predators are introduced they can wreak havoc. People need to take care.

  • ahhhhh molis... =S. A ver... labridos? ja.

  • @kick5425001 Hola Amigo mi nombre es Hortencia, yo soy la esposa de Carl.A que te referies con la pregunta?Lo que quieres ver es Wrasses? Saludos hasta luego.

  • True that! Where are you located?

  • @SeverumProductions Torontp Canada, 934 the Queensway, east of Islington.

  • @CarlsAquarium ah, your way up there

  • @SeverumProductions I tried to get them to include the Florida Key's as part of Canada, so far no luck.

  • @CarlsAquarium yeah, idk how that's gonna work

  • @SeverumProductions Maybe Canada should lay claim to some area in the tropics, build a floating platform, moor it to the bottom of the ocean, and then start building from there, you could build as wide as you wanted, and keep adding to the structure, corals would grow, fish and critters would move in, it would be amazing, if it was made from concrete you could just keep adding more hollow concrete chambers on the top, and as the corals grew and it got heavier it would eventually hit bottom

  • @CarlsAquarium there you go. That could work.

  • @SeverumProductions Maybe I will run for Prime Minister, My ocean platform, could be the basis of my political platform.

  • @CarlsAquarium haha go for it!

  • @SeverumProductions Carl for Prime Minister, my platform could be "Fish for All the People".

  • @CarlsAquarium I like it.

  • isnt it really bad to feed them live gold fish?

  • @SeverumProductions Goldfish have an enzyme called thiamese, it takes thiamine out of the body, if you feed them exclusively goldfish they will have a vitamin deficiency, it is the same if you eat rabbit every meal, but rabbit as part of your diet is okay, The tank is mostly fed on shrimp, mussel meat, squid, clam etc... I buy the seafood mix at the grocery store, it is better for them, and cheaper. But for a video, this was fun.

  • @CarlsAquarium Yeah, that's what I figured, I just asked anyway lol. I want to get a Lionfish when I set up my tank.

  • @SeverumProductions They are very pretty.

  • @CarlsAquarium yeah they are. One of my favorite salt water fish, next to the Niger Trigger

  • @SeverumProductions My favorite fish is the orbiculate Batfish, but I love all fish equally.

  • @CarlsAquarium just looked it up, thats a pretty crazy looking fish

  • @SeverumProductions I have a red sea order coming either next week or the next.

  • lol at 1:37 the orange fish is dragging the gold fish xD

  • @alvin8452 A grabbing grouper.

  • Fascinating stuff! thanks Carl.

  • @emmers57 You are welcome.

  • WOW that was so cool great tank what sort of filter do you have runing for them?.... =]

  • @CandyFishRave Home made glass wet/dry, with bio balls and a drip tray

  • @CarlsAquarium nice great job carl

  • @CandyFishRave Thank you.

  • Goldfish are always getting crapped on. Lionfish are pretty awesome fish though. Whats the cost of one?

  • @nls8520 40 - 80 depending on size.

  • Parkinson camera man... but the fishes are astonishing beautiful!

By the way, 1 gallon = 3,78 litres.

  • @roliar That is a good description of our camera technique, thanks for the math, I usually see it on the thrones.

  • how big of a tank do you need for 1

  • @MrAlligator781 A 50 gallon will do for a while.

  • awsoome

  • @MrAlligator781 Very.

  • what size is this tank in litres?

  • @winterstorms88 The tank is 66"x36"x12" which is 123 US gallons x 4 for litres = 493.7 approx.

  • are these saltwater fishes? any tips on how to make one? thanks

  • @RebelThunder Yes, they are saltwater fish. We are going to do a series of video's on how to do a salt water and freshwater tanks. You might also look through our channel and watch Fresh to salt where we switch a freshwater tank to salt water.

  • @RebelThunder yes

  • thx alot for the fast answers i really apreciate it, sorry if my english isnt great its because im from costa rica, oh and is it ok to feed lionfish with frsh water fish?? i tought that they get blind after a while isnt that true??

  • @mannurko Your English is better than my Spanish, Hortencia has been trying to teach me Spanish. Feeding goldfish to lionfish or any other fish can cause problems with thiamine deficiency, we mostly feed the lionfish with shrimp we buy at the grocery store, being saltwater shrimp they have the right nutrients, the goldfish were fed for the video, it was more exciting than the shrimp would have been.

  • thx alot for the fast answers i really apreciate it, sorry if my english isnt great its because im from costa rica

  • man i love this fix im going to buy one in all the aquariums where i have been say that this is one of the easiest salt fish to pet but you have to be careful too XD

  • @mannurko Yes, they are easy to pet, but yes, you need to be careful.

  • after a whole year my lion fish now all of a sudden hates my magnet cleaner...do you know why?

  • i had one of those in my aquarium tank long ago, i bought him when he was 3cm, then after a while he grows enormously, he started eating other fishes, one time when i was cleaning the tank i got stung >.< then decided to get rid of the creature, though i liked it when it was small!

  • @goldeneyeman

I have only been stung a couple times, I try to be careful, but they are pretty.

  • @CarlsAquarium yeah it's cool to have one of those in your fish tank

  • @goldeneyeman how would u keep a toxic animal in ur aquarium

  • @OMGownerzZz10 It's like some ppl pet Tarantula or snakes, they're beautiful in your aquarium. Beside, i got stung by the red one, it only hurt for several hours, the black one is really the "toxic" one.

  • Beautiful creatures

  • @lovekawakawaii They are so pretty.

  • shouldn't feed them goldfish duder, its bad for saltwater fish

  • @tedcleary08 They are fed mostly cocktail shrimp and squid chunks.

  • arent they poisioness?

  • @Xxmike96slimxX The spines down the centre of their backs are, in one of the video's ( near the one's about the giant hermit crab) I show what it looks like after I was not paying attention, reached in, and got stabbed. It HURTS a lot, pretty much right away, so I held the finger under hot water and rubbed WD 40 into my finger to neutralize the poison, that helped a little bit, but my hand did not feel right for a few hours. I was more careful after that.

  • I SNIFF HOT CHIKS PANTIES FROM BRAZIL mmmmmm! delicious gourmet

  • wtf who wouid say that on a video with fish in it?

  • thats gold fish you feed them how long will they stay alive in saltwater

  • wow they didn't last long!! cool vid :)

  • moar feeding vids =D

    this is great.
