GM i hope you are listening. Bring back pontiac! They migh have been a bad selling brand but you cant bet the 6.0 GTO and the fabled firebirds or the V8 powerd Holden-Pontiac G8 bring em back. We dont need GMC its Basically chevrolet with different badging maybee if you play your cards right and kill the GMC brand chevys would be the bestselling truck in the USA. think about it and GIVE US OUR FAVOURITE BRAND BACK!!!!!!
@PetarVN If memory serves, Pontiac was still GM's 3rd best selling brand as of 2009. But then again, GM killed Saturn a year after it turned a profit for the first time ever, so go figure.
6:17 (fiero gt), 6:37(1998 GTP), 6:56-6:57 (04+ GTP) those r my babes! 6:40-6:41(trans am and older r One of da cars of my dreams) 6:58(GTO and older gtos one of dream cars) 7:15(G8 another one) n 6:19 what car is that??
wow, you know I was in the process of saving money to sell my 6000 and buy a Cadillac STS because the old Trans Ams are so expensive now but you know what, after watching this I have to say fuck that idea. I've always loved Pontiac and the Trans Am has been my favorite car since I was only like 8 years old. I'M GOING TO SAVE TO BUY THAT TRANS AM DAMNIT!!!
GM's biggest mistake was shutting pontiac down. they did it to early. if they would re-run the old school classics like trans-am, firebird, gto... im preety sure pontiacs would still be there.
i think that if pontiac didnt get lazy with their designs they would still be here. i mean some of the pontiacs were just impalas with a pontiac symbol.
RIP Pontiac, you will forever be missed by the World and always will be damned by GM. Along with oldsmobile of course. GM needs to have a commercial that says, since we got rid of pontiac, now all we make is bland boring cars!!
My opinion is (who bather of my opinion?) that the DeLorean team design of 1966 and the fastback of 1968 were the two peaks of design. It was the top design of design of all cars. The power of "race and win on sunday, sell on monday" was not only the result of a powerful engine, it was also very much depending on the beautiful design of those cars. And when I see the whole story of the Potiac design, I understand that the brand declined in sellfigures, because some of the late -70 had bad design
I knew quite a lot (not at all the whole histoty) about the Tempest, GTO. Not so much about th Trans Am. But the older Pontiac was new for me. Thanks for posting. Interesting.
Hope the new GM CEO and Members of the Board will reconsider their decision to close down this wonderful car label.
wonderful vid but in my opinion the only cars unfit to wear the pontiac badge are the g3 and the vibe. i let the gto go cause its so powerful even tho u can tell its austrailian just by looking at it and and the g8 is austrailian as well but they earned the badge.
A last hurray and farewell to Pontiac! We'll miss you! up to the automotive heaven and written down in history along with other awesome brands like Oldsmobile, Plymouth, AMC and soon Mercury.
Thanks for a wonderful tribute to Pontiac. You did a great job. My first car was a new 1976 Grand Leman's, best looking A body of any other GM brand. I always thought in the 60s and 70s Pontiac made the best looking cars around. I really enjoyed this, thanks for you work and sharing with us, I love Pontiac's.
Heh, I hope you don't mind. I used whichever appropriate high-res pictures I could find that didn't have copyright notices attached to them. Beautiful car by the way!
Thanks for this, man. I fell in love with my aunt's '85 Grand Am when I was growing up. I wanted it to be my first car. Everyone would give me crap about it, but I loved it. I'm 25 now, and I have it today...along with an '05 GA GT and a '80Z28. My little bro became obsessed too, and got a '90 GA Quad4 HO. My best friend even has an '08 Grand Prix GXP. So thanks again...this video means alot.
@racingchamp101 can't remember if i cried first time i saw that vid , maybe i cried . my feelings are strange each time i watch that vid . i just can't realize i'm not dreaming . what a waste , what a great company it was . i still can remember that little Tran AM toy i used to play with when i was a kid
I've never really liked Japanese cars that much just as cars. To me they do one thing well and that's stay alive for a really really long time other then that they not tend to look very cool and don't to have many specs to rep.
true. But cars like buicks can drive well for a good 15 years. After that then they start having problems but that's to be expected. It's also funny how everybody thinks general motors cars are garbage even though they aren't. They are good cars than are probably better than toyota
@firedragon365 True. When was the last time ANYONE ever saw a 30 year old Toyota, Nissan, Honda, BMW, or Audi on the road? There are literally tens of thousands of American cars of 30 years of age still going strong. How did the foreign cars get such an undeserved reputation? They highlight a few cars that have been well-made when the rest of them are pieces of JUNK. That's how.
My family's stable includes nearly every GM brand whose legitimacy has been contested in the last five years. We have a Buick, a Pontiac, a GMC and a Saturn. The Pontiac is mine, a 1985 6000 STE that's been in the family a year longer than I have. I'd rather not have seen ANY of the brands killed, let alone Pontiac.

Well, that's 4 brands sold off or killed, Oldsmo-bile, Saturd, Ponti-crap and Bummer..
No more oil-belching Trash Ams or GTO (Get Tools Out) cluttering up the streets, and that many less cars for Soetoro Motors to recall.
Only 4 more brands to kill off, and the failure of Barry's Barges will be complete. Then all we'd need is the rest of the $49 billion we lent them.
Never another GM (Great Mistake) product in my driveway. Course, half of what they sell is rebadged Gookmobiles anyway

@firedragon365 then the truth comes out about foreign makers
brakes fail
honda's have faulty airbags
toyota's have shitty breaks
Kia's are made of flimsy material that the doors will crush like paper when hit from the side

@ghostphantom563 or GMC, chevy trucks and GMC trucks are the same.
4431prw 1 year ago
@ghostphantom563 because in it's late years, it was basicly barrowing parts from Chevy and buick
plus GM has way to much stock in NASCAR, NHRA and grand-am
in the grand-am, the camaro replaced the gt-r
Rcrby525 1 year ago
@ghostphantom563 mnot that i am aggainst it, but they could have kept pontiac and killed buick, i agree. luxury brand cars are going by the wayside
TOYOTA even reported that lexus is faltering in sales.
(well, yeah, they are 70,000 dollars for a car)
