  • If I wanted to use something other than hot sauce but still with a bit of kick is there anything the BBQ Pit Boys would recommend?

    Peppers, chilies, hot sauce would boil through my stomach in no time. But I have been know to eat dishes with chili flakes in them. Tis weird, I can't eat hot Mexican food, but give me Chinese hot mustard or Cajun low heat and I will gobble it up and enjoy it.

  • My favourite hot sauce is Blair's Ultra Death, if I put 1/2 cup of that in this recipe, I will blow my arsehole off the next day......

    On a more serious note, Bourbon is a type of whiskey made from corn mash (you can make whiskey from rye, wheat, barley etc). I think it originates in Ketucky, and with a name like Bourbon you would expect some French legacy there. Whiskey is basically a spirit made from a fermented grain (in the broadest sense). Bourbon is a type of whiskey, like Scotch or Tenessee or Irish. They all taste pretty good!

  • What do you use as charcoal? Real wood charcoal al briketts? Beacuse that looks like briketts in your grill. I've found that briketts provide higher temperature and burn longer than charcoal. I've tried going indirect with normal charcoal but ended up using a lot because I just couldn't get the temperature up. Thanks!

    P.S: awsome recipes...especially the burger ones!

  • I don't know about using that marinade the raw chicken was sitting in. Does the whiskey kill the salmonella ?

  • @bubba3228 The wiskey doesn't kill the salmonella, but cooking the marinade would kill the salmonella. If you are sill worried about salmonella, make the marinade in a separate bowl and reserve some of that marinade to make the dipping sauce.
