yep, i agree. osshawatts, (mijimarus) evolutions are pretty baddass. but some of the other pokemon, such as pokabus, are clear sloppups of previous pokemon. i hope the whole game isnt like that, it may just ruin the game for me.

I wonder how an otter turns into a sea unicorn? Anyway I probably will go with the water starter cause it looks the coolest. The grass type looks okay but i have seen better evolutions from fan art. It would be cool if it was grass/dragon type. I think the fire type could have been maybe a fire/steel type because of the armor or a fire/dark type because it's red and black. I agree that fire/fighting has been used too much.

I've played since Blue version when I was like 10 years old and went fire all the way to Pearl. This time I think they got a bit lazy -- the piggy had potential but for me at least the last form doesn't fit the first one. Though all three have repetitive designs from other pokemon.

Of course, if the fire burns in game while standing and is animated the right way, it could still be pretty bad ass. But I think I'll roll water this time whenever it gets here. Just an older fan's thoughts.

I'm not really crazy about the starters evolutions...Tsutarja looks okay, but then looks to Grovyle ish then it's final form looks like a grass Milotic. I agree with @halo123rock92 Pokabu was cute, but why must we have another set of fire fighting evolutions? It's too repetitive...I think Mijumaru is the best, and his evolution line is the most creative.

There are NO confimations on any of the 2nd or 3rd evolutions. PokeExperto showed a fake fan magaine image with the second ones on but other than that they're just pictures that popped up on a japanese forum

Mijumaru: I really like this one, especially its final evolution. It looks like a armored seal.

Pokabu: I think the pig is really cute and its second evolution isn't that bad... but its final evolution just looks terrible. I think they could have done a better design.

Tsutaja: I had great expectations for this pokemon, and they didn't disappoint. This thing just looks awesome and is my new favorite grass type pokemon. I'm so getting this pokemon for my starter when it comes out!

mijumaru's second evo typing does not make sense to me. serebii says it is the TRAINING pokemon. so, it should've been a water/fighting type, not just a water type. reason why i want it to be a water/fighting type is that i do not prefer (in my opinion) another fire/fighting type evolutionary line. pokabu's 2nd evo & 3rd evo are sumo wrestlers. fighting again. (sigh).
