  • this is strangely soothing...

  • Info on music used for this video?

  • @ZephonXNK

    Taken from the movie "Solaris"

  • @rickcain2320 Thanks found it!

  • increadible video and that we might be able to use it to travle from one to the other faster than conventional craft ?

hook a sola frare and go intastella in as little as a life time ? could it be cool ? probably hot!

    ;]

  • The Sun has no solid surface. So if we had a spacesit to walk on it's surface, you'd fall into the inferno and become solar fuel in an instant!

  • dude, even if you were about 1000 kilometres from the Sun, you'd burn in a millisecond.

  • I know! I said IF you had a Spacesuit that could reach the Sun's surface! Totally Hypothetical!!! But the outsise of the Sun is nowhere as hot as the Core! up to 100 billion degrees! So the Surface is a lot cooler.

  • BCSpore:

Actually the core of the Sun is only in the range of 15-20 million degrees. Although strictly not enough to support fusion, the process is aided by the quantum-tunneling effect, at the enormous densities inside the core. By the way the corona (the atmosphere hundreds of thousands of miles above the surface of the sun) is 2 million degrees compared to 5000 degrees at the surface.

    Cheers.

  • where the fu** is the eclipse you idiot????

  • They see me trollin'

    They hatin'

  • And the eclipse?

  • Wonderful images...congratulation...

  • You can see the lightning and tufting of this cosmic anode.

  • Would we have such a beautiful universe if god wasn't so fond of mind altering drugs?

  • God is the greatest..

  • what an odd comment...

  • Especially considering the Universe is full of explosions, it's highly probable that there was one massive one. I believe in God but to say he's going around hand picking favorites... is beyond ignorance.

  • Greatest what, evil bastard? Child killer? Earthquake maker?

    Please be more specific.

  • Our lives hang by a flaming thread.

  • is it in fast forward

  • OOH you used Solaris music...beautiful.

  • Uh, where's the eclipse?

  • fuck, only such fucking nerds on the net get off, you suck for real

  • ull b burned "chicken" before reaching there...

so i am burned too? :O

  • fukin use your brains.

  • its coming to a blow!!!!!

  • "and for everyone thats is arguein about walkin on the sun its not possible, and i dnt think it ever will be, so shut up....idiots."

yep. mostly besoe of the fact that:

    1. Its very facking hot out there...

    2. sun DOESNT have "ground" just like a HUGE gas giant that got flamed...

  • ay apo!!!

    pakawanem lord!!!

ada pay ket kanu green nga initen!!!

    haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

  • the sun is green?

  • wow

  • I aint complainin but this isnt an eclipse, they are soloar flares which are actualy pretty cool to watch, and this vid is amazing, great music with it too, and for everyone thats is arguein about walkin on the sun its not possible, and i dnt think it ever will be, so shut up....idiots.

  • Don't just stay there. Let's take a walk on the sun b4 breakfast!

  • and .. im not so smart .. is that a green sun i see?

  • this pictures were taken in X-ray or UV spectrum.

  • dont fight if we can or cant cus if we could then how th hell would we get thier and we need realy stong suits

  • Totally awesome! amazing! Just dunno what you guys fighting over the fact that we could or can't walk on sun's surface! ;) c'mon we are humans and we like to daydream anyway! ;) and for the music! just lovely! :D Used on 'Solaris' film I guess with George Clooney ( I'm not gay! x-( ) composed by Cliff Martinez! ;) "Is that what everybody wants?".

Better go and watch "Baraka"! :D film created by Ron Fricke and Mark Magidson! :D. This kind of music always pull out the deepest humans strings!! :D

  • firstly how is this an eclipse. where is the moon? secondly this video of the sun is spectaclar and amzingly beautiful. thridly for you idiots below me, it is never ever ever ever going to be possible to walk on the surface of the sun. and why the hell would you wont to do it anyways.... fags

  • Those flares are so cool to look at

  • hhhm thats a splar cycle that happens in the morning and ya cant look at it

  • wow!!!

  • impossible, if they can walk on sun, they can live on sun, u idiot, ya feet may not burn, but the rest of your karkas 1000 miles away

  • does any one know music it playing?

  • jesus.. that looks lyk a bigger sister to venus or something. imagine living on venus or the sun? torture.. lmfao

  • You couldn't live on the sun for very long, but you could do a sun walk of about an hour before burning up.

  • uhhm... you do realize that the surface of the sun is like 5700 K hot.... walk on it for an hour? i wouldn't wana try that m8 :P

  • There's special shoes for it now, and amazing heat protection suits - you can't get them in the shops. The shoes cost over twenty thousand pounds, but only NASA can get them.

I'm telling you, you may think the sun is too hot to walk on, but how do you know? Don't believe what they tell you. It's red, so it's hot, yeah? Well, space radiation heats up as it travels, and the sun isn't all that.

  • yeah well even if you somehow could stand the heat... what about the gravity like 27g and insane radiation levels... but now an example.. lets say that we actualy can walk on the sun.. how do we get there ? as you said yourself its hotter in the sun corona ...its three million kelvin so lets figure out how to get trough that :P

  • wow i can't belive what im reading why the fuck does someone want to walk on the sun. don't they know that it is like 9944f thats pretty fucking hot special shoes or not your ass is gonna fry.

  • Oh my, walking on the sun, that's gotta be the funniest shit I have read on here for a while!!! :-D

  • 3 million kelvin ≈ 5,399,450 Fahrenheit. I would not want to be there.

  • ull b burned "chicken" before reaching there...

  • Oh yeah? Well Michael Moore managed Farenheit 911. Are you telling me he has never seen the sun rise?

    A written apology will suffice.

  • Anti-gravity suits, duh. And suits made from lead. We get there by flying in a spaceship, of course.

Some people...they just refuse to believe the patently obvious.

  • you suck and you will never get anything in life

  • Wrong, dhuane. I already have everything I want.

  • yeah, lets see if you will think the same a year before you die

  • Is there life on the sun? You bet your life there is, but it's not public knowledge. Venus also has plenty, though it's much smaller and eats dust. A bit like the solar worms. Only less yellow.

  • yeah... something that eats dust... cuz we could see that from tthis far away... jackass

  • THE SUN CANT BEAT ME!

  • It beat better than you. Buzz Aldrin was the first man to play golf on the Sun, and look what happened to his handicap.

Don't play with fire, my friend, or you'll get burned. The Sun beats down, and it will beat us all in the end.

None of us can imagine just how V A S T the Sun is. It's almost as big as the moon.

  • almost as big as the moon? haha uhm the sun is allot bigger than the moon, and you have to see the biggest sun in the milkyway, you won't believe it lol

  • Yeah but no but I saw the moon the other night and it was enormous, I'd say at least 5 times as big as the sun.

Anyway, the milky way is just dust.

  • i really really hope you are just making fun. otherwise you should really go die

  • No dude it is just close to Earth

  • dude seriously? No one has ever been on the sun. You would die within minutes of going near Mercury or Venus better yet the sun. Dude it is too hot. You would burn to ashes.

  • Ha! They used to say that about going to the moon: "Man will never walk on the moon," they said. And what happened? Man did walk on the moon.

And then they walked on the sun. Even now, they're planning trips to Mars and Jupiter, or are you all living in the past and haven't heard about it?

  • Dude, is there any proof of man on the moon? NO! Is there any proof of man on the sun? Hell No! Until that there is actual proof of man on the sun or moon I won't believe it. BTW, I think that it is pretty cool that we might send someone to Mars or Jupiter but the only way that I can find that true is if I'm the one sent.

  • Man has walked on the moon!? the proof is in the footage, so do you think man hasn't even been into space yet?

  • Look - you know the man in the moon? In France they say it's a rabbit, not a man.

So there - proof that man is not what it thinks it is.

For people who don't believe man walked on the sun, just look at the film "Sunwalk," starring Jeff Bridges and Penelope Keith, directed by Keith Chegwin. That will turn you into believers.

  • do you really think someone can walk on hot ass gas? noone can make it to mercury without dying of dehydration.

  • You're forgetting Lucozade Isotonic - it hydrates right up to high temperatures.

And Heineken - which refreshes the parts other beers can't reach - can help protect the Helionauts.

Before any of you argue, get your facts straight: we're going to the sun and we have been doing so for aeons. My dear old grandfather walked on the sun, and he had a wooden leg. I still have his leg, up there on the wall. It's a little scorched, but it's a good momento of a courageous man.

  • what fukin planet do you live on

  • The one between venus and mars.

    You?

  • Your are the maniac of the century.

  • Thank you. What's your speciality?

  • lol your funny man.

  • This is the sun we are talking about!!? lol

  • All planets destroy themselfs with the past of the years, maybe in 1 million year earth will be destroyed or by a meteorite or by a mistery that science can´t say i just hope that next generations will take care of earth better than our generation

  • is this the sun

  • wats hapenin to earth

  • that ain't earth thats the solar eclipse...nothin happens to the earth

  • It's not a solar eclipse either. It's the solar cycle.

  • ok im sorry but i dont see the eclipse. all i see are two videos of two stages of the solar cycle. the one on the left during the low phase and minimal solar activity which makes the auroras here on earth and the one with much activity will create many auoras here on earth. we watched this exact video in Earth and Space Science class when we were studying the auoras here on Earth. and yes i know my spelling and grammer suck

  • Perfect spelling. Punctuation a little lacking, but spelling is spot on. I used to be a teacher.

MOOOO HAAA HAAAAA HAAAA HAAA AHAAHAH HA HA AHAH AHAAAAAA AHAAA HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

  • yes 1 day all of us willl die but no were close to now

  • OK LISTEN UP PEOPLE the sun is not gonna explode and become a black hole in like 5 billion years by then maybe there is a solution we can all live oh yeah and i think aliens looks like us hehe you guys are fucking stupid lmao

  • Yup, definitely. We as a species I don't think has anything to worry about the sun dying out because we're not going to last that long. We have a long ways to go just to reach the dinosaurs reign.

  • YOU ARE RETARDED.LISTIN UP, the sun is not going to become a black hole because it is nowhere near as big to be a black hole or even a nuetron star. what will happen is that the sun will not be able to sustain itself in 5 billion years because it will run out of hydrogen and expand and start fusing the other elements in it such as heluim and oxygen into iron and other metals. so while its expanding it will surpass earth orbit burning it. then it will implode and become a white dwarf.

  • Yeah, and monkeys will fly out of my butt.

  • lol

  • the sun will emplode and the particles from the sun will spread across the universe and the sun will be replaced with a white dwarf. the sun will become a red giant before that event. but its billions of years to come. its just a space fact.

  • So, aside from our religious beliefs and stuff, do we all agree that one day human race and all the other living things on earth will die?

  • this kinda stuff always scares the crap outa me...that's probably why I pay so much attention in science class :D

  • this is a cycle that happened along time ago when we all were going to die lol

  • My chemistry Prof(He was a Prof. at Harvard University) was telling us something about Ice age. He said that there is a cycle and if I remember it correctly, I think he said that theoratically, we should have already been living beginning of the next Ice age. But in stead the earth is getting warmer and all the ice at the ploes is melting.

  • so, in this video there is a comparission between the 1996 sun and the changes that occurred in just 4 years. Is it exploding? is it getting hotter and hotter? how is it doing now?

  • well yo usee, the sun is nearing its maximus stage.... this is where it is going to be giving off immense amounts of radiation. you can tell because we just started spotting reverse polarized sunspots, which is an indication.

  • I did some reading on reverse polarized sunspots. That's truly fasinating. I was wondering during the stormy state of the sun, how is our planet effected? Doest it help boosting the global warming? By the way, I didn't know how magnetic the sun is...! I wonder how much do we know about sun! I mean we can never reach close enough to get some sort of sample or something like that from it. All we can do is just sit at a distance and do calculatons.

  • can someone tell me what is the sun made up of? why is it a sphere and where does it gets all this energy that it has been giving off for billions of years? how long will it take for it to cool off? was our earth as hot as the sun once? is the orbit of the earth getting smaller and smaller, bring us closer to the sun? are we oneday going to actually collide into the sun? Is the sun really made of gases?

  • it is made up of dust and gas just like all other stars. i can't explain this alot but the planeys and i think the moon give the sun its energy. a few billion years from now it will in fact cool off. it is possible that the earth was once as hot as the sun maybe around the time of the big bang. i was taught that the earth moves 1.45 inches away from the sun each year and soon the solar system will be a dark place. maybe proxima centauri will be our next sun but dont worry about it though.

  • it won't be dark until long after we all pass

  • Fantastic. Someone please remind me/us again; why is a 'green filter' used to capture the image? As beautiful as it is some science docos describe our 'life-giving star' as 'our "savage" sun'. In approximately 3 billion years' time it'll destroy our solar system as we know it and then collapse into a white dwarf.

  • a green filter is used because the sun is too bright for human eyes to see. your eyes could burn

  • Saw an image of the sun the other day where they seperated the three filters that make up a full colour image. The seperated filters were (as with out TV screens), red, green, blue. Type "RGB color model" into Wikipedia.

  • wikipedia isn't always accurate

  • This is beautiful. Those eruptions (I do not know the correct term) are amazing. Thank you for sharing.

  • um... do you know what an eclipse is? this is just the sun going in circles... an eclipse happens when the moon goes in front of the sun...

  • someone tell the spacecraft the sun is not really green!

  • its hinode i thought it is SOHO

  • A greenball spinning in a circle..

  • truly awesome...yeah that is cool

  • Stop the video at exactly 1:23 (how ironic)

    It all bursts with light!

  • why is it that in four years the sun is more reactive and violent than before?

  • Because the sun has cycles of going more and less active, called Solar Minimum and Maximum. Its an eleven year cycle.... I think.

  • at 2:57 the sun bursted radiation and made the camera mess up a little bit

  • The power of nature!

  • this is the song from solaris right?

  • Almost sounds like Oblivion music, but I'm pretty sure it's not

  • Yes, The Solaris re-make with George Cloony.

  • Do you know what an eclipse is?

  • wow thats sooooo beautiful...

  • did you know the sun has mant bubbles of lava and 3 of them is equivlent to the size of planet earth!!!!

  • k first off, there is no lava on the sun... the sun is a giant ball of hot swirling gas...

  • there is no lava.. but there actually is more to the sun than hot gas...

  • actually its been theorized that the helium gets more dense closer to the center... but the sun also consists of hydrogen, helium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, and iron.

  • it is the sn and green because the carmera lens could not stand the rays of the sun

  • Is that the mooon or another planet?

  • thats the SUN XD

  • How is this a Solar Eclipse? -_-;;

  • thank you einstein

  • HOAX. this is just the 11 year cycle the sun has. super hot liquids in the sun are released every 11 years as protons and electrons go fucking wild at tens of thousands of degree's Kalvin. 11 year fart cycle! the suns fine for now.

  • Your Mums a hoax. She really has a penis

  • That fire from the sun causes aurora.

  • it is coll

the soier eclips is very coll

  • "i'm guessing in the next 20-30 years the fucking world will be fucking over 120+." what the hell does that mean? O_o.. n the only thing carbon dioxide does is make the earth warmer... if we can fire a big enough racket connected to the earth maybe we can knock it off its course a little thus cooling it off! : D XD nah that wont happen... but yea ur right its bad but we'll think of soemthing after all we with our brains can easly fight off some heat or another ice age

  • The Earth's orbit is can be off to as much as 3 million miles. We'd need more than a rocket..

  • 10 rockets? :D XD i said i was kidding becuz if we tried that we could damage the earth and such things need time or we would like O_o cuz like moving the earth quickly would like not be good for whats on earth so it needs time and they say that the earth might move out of the course a little when the sun becomes a red giant

  • Are you retarded? Fucking up the universe? Thats the dumbest thing iv EVER heard.

  • the sun, the moon, earth....

they are bound to collide some day.

i feel sorry for the ones that are still

    alive when it finally happens.

  • its not stuped outer space can be instrasting

    you don't now enything

  • ummm, thats basically impossible. unless the sun stops rotating. but that wont happen either.

  • the sun is green??

    LOL Since When???

    lawl.

    Damn the sun looks munted,

    "2000-2007 the sun started dying"

  • did I miss something? where is the eclipse? not in this video!

  • "omg !! is the sun really green?"

    HAHAHA what and idiot!

  • Well, in a 1000 years, I'm sure it's possible that we'll have some way to live without the Sun. Yeah, without it the Earth will, idk, float off I guess. But still, there'll probably be something we'll have figured out to do.

  • its not 1000 years its like 9 billon years but all humans will be dead by then it wil eather destroy eerything or nock off the earth and it will fly off into space.....

  • 3000 or sometime in that time range, the sun is supposedly going to die out, theres been theories that it will explode and destroy everything in it's path, or jsut fade out. its rather scary to think of life in 1000+ years

  • its actually about 5,000,000,000 years... so we dont have to worry we will blow ourselves up before the sun does XD if not hey look at the bright side we have a lot of time to prepare!

  • look on the BRIGHT side, HA HA HA HA HA! I G it!!!!! BRIGHT!

  • i dont get it? shuld we be scared or sumthing, coz like the guy under me sed, it looks like its had serious dmg since 2000 now we're in 2007 so..im guessing its gettin its hot sunny ass pwned? ...

  • no thats just the 11 year cycle. the 2000 side shows what we DIDNT see in 1996 XD what we saw in 2000 was on the other side of 1996

  • Well one things for sure from 1996-2000.

It looks like there was some serious damage done to it.

  • no.. thats the 11 year cycle. XD the 1996 side shows one side of the sun that we see, and the 2000 side shows the other side that we saw in 2000

  • omg !! is the sun really green?

or it is just look like gren so it wont hurt the eye...

  • In visual lenses of a camera in space it can't take the light so they reduce the color other wise the whole screen would be white

  • Eclipse Or Not It Is Still Cool

  • hey anybody else get the feeling that that thing is going to blow up. really badass video, thanks for posting it.

  • dude I KNOW!!!!!!!! lol haha

  • space crap

  • What's getting eclipsed in this video? I just see some close-up shots of the sun.

  • truly awesome

  • Cool...

  • yeah that is cool ...

  • it's cool how the image had a lot of static introduced everytime a solar flare erupted

  • i agree!

just goes to show how powerful the universe is =]]
