In my experience everyone are using squeegee, that is difficult to be replaced. Please compare the price from different company.

Before put on the ink, you can see through the screen. Then you can find the correct position in that time.

can you use normal fabric paint for screen printing?

You can try, but the result may not good. The screen printing ink should be thick, not too liquid.

what ink is it? plastisol or water based, maybe water based so it cures at room temperature

We are using water based colours. This is good for home made style.
