You are right, Surfer Joe was the "A" side and Wipeout the "B" side. In Lansing, MI when Wipeout finally ran its course, the radio stations started playing Surfer Joe as if it was a new release. Unless you had the record and knew both singles were on one record, you would have thought that the Surfaris had released a new record.

Surfer joe was a hit first and then dj turned it over and wipeout became a hit but if you look it up on billboard you won't find surfer joe, but I remember 1962 real well and surfer joe was and still is one of my favorite songs

I haven't heard this song since I was taking R&R at China Beach with another guy from my outfit. He went out to try the surf and this song was playing on the loudspeaker system... This is one of the good memories I had of Nam... Thanks
