I'm guessing when it came to the results screen, a winner was meant to be declared at the second race, but it was skipped, so a winner wasn't declared. Since there was no winner, it caused an error.
I don't know if the ladder glitch in snes9x 1.43 is like it is on the original console but pressing up/down causes weird things to take place. Either nothing significant happens, or the game glitches out, warps you to the mini-boss in Dynablade, warps you to a different location in the room were you used the glitch + messes up the screen behavior, etc.
See watch?v=lDMCUFI5-58
The effect of the glitch in this video was omitted when DDD hit the goal but it glitched out after the course 3.
@mugg1991 It probably does happen on the original console, but it's impossible for it to happen, unless you use a modified controller that is unlike the SNES one that doesn't allow you to push up + down on its controller at the same time. (Which I kinda hate, because I can't see awesome glitches like this one)
Okay, I was told the glitch does only work partially on the console. This glitch cannot be used for TASing and is otherwise no legit glitch...so yeah. Will delete the video sometime soon
this hapenned to me, but the glitch is... magically I teletransported to marx battle! O_O that´s scary! T_T

@alejandro1000o
This can't have happened to you because you need to press up & down on the ladder on a certain frame.
Your warp occured because you were using ZSNES, which has emulation problems with a lot of games. Use bsnes or snes9x.

Just a hypothesis. :/

It is possible on the console, yes. But We don't know if it works 100% the same as on the emulator.
You can press up+down on the original controller

Not that this is a useful glitch, but other variations of the ladder glitch are indeed useful...
