I've been listening to KAAY and hearing all the music but as soon as I heard this guy I knew he was special , this has been going on for about 9 months . I didn't know who he was but his music was effecting me . I realize now that Jesus was using Keith to shine the light of COMMITMENT on me . Now I know who Keith is . JESUS IS REAL!
Keith's journal; "Jesus you are now here by offically welcome to enter me, and now only your actions will reveal your effect on me." He is the classic rock+roll hippie actually driving a VW bus, wow, what a trip! This journal thought is the common honest step towards personal acceptance that Jesus 'is' Lord! That was my walk 1986 and God honors this kind of convition 100% He's awaiting you, me, and his arms are out for us all and it's great!
Bought my first bible (the one recommended) so the journey begins... I know it will open up old wounds, expose things but as someone said to me recently, first you have to be broken before you can be fixed.
'Intense' would be one way to describe K Green. After watching this video, I would describe him as 'committing with love and care'... That's rare. 'Your love broke through' sounds like a calling for a spiritual novice like me...
A friend pointed me to this, am not spiritually certain... But I say Keith Green had GUTS ... but also love, tenderness and care for others, and that is a good enough start for me to want to explore Jesus and ask for Him to come into my life.. Thanks Keith.
I loved the video.. i had listened to Keith Green's music after i came to God, back in the mid 80's.... i liked it then, and now am listening to it again. His music is so annointed and beautiful. A true man of God...on fire....how we all need to be.
This is the man that preached about Jesus so well that I returned back to the Lord on Sept 29, 1978 at Knott's Berry Farm, CA. Someday soon I'd like to return to that place that turned my life around. I was attending Pasadena City College at the time and went with my Christian Fellowship club I had just joined there. This video is a trip down memory lane. Watch it. His music is so soulful and simple. He'll always have a soft spot in my heart. I've missed him ever since he died. He died so young.
Few ministers speak to me like Keith did and does. I'm 46 now and have been serving the Lord since 1980. More than ever Keith's ministry challenges me to give all, because time is short for all of us. Let's forget worldly ambition and sell out to Jesus.
I have been moved by Keith Green's music for about twenty years...His music compels me to find a solid rock, which is Jesus! I loved his honesty at trying to find it. I love his wife's heart which is so pure...A death only means we that are left behind ,but, pushes the pulse of his heart...loving Jesus..He is the one that put this love in our hears anyway...through the holy spirit and the way God created him to give honor to God!..Glory to God for even dead artists...that live onward!
Thanks from the 8 year old in me who grew up playing songs on the piano and singing until everyone said "Go to bed". Keith was powerful and humble, all at the same time. The true definition of meekness. I'm 41 now and still pull out the books to play at least once a month. Thanks for sharing this.
I-grew up with a hardman influence from a WW2 Sargent commando-type (2nd 27th Brigade) & a simple Christian woman but influences outside of the family home were mostly from a MURDEROUS violent & literally Satanic old world power & although I'd been born sweet as all kids are yet I'd had a capacity to be a little bad too & was kind of tough but crossing swords spiritually with Keith Green I'd realised he was one of the 3 toughest men I've ever seen in person & I'd thanked Christ he'd converted...
When I became a christian in '92, my husband gave me a cassette of Keith's music. I was much like Keith, in my search for Truth, often discouraged by the examples in the world and mainstream churches. Keith's music spoke to my heart in a way no other could ever do. It broke me, melting the stone from around my heart. He was the real deal, and I thank God for his testimony. Nineteen years later, the gift of music God gave Keith, still affects me the same. His testimony lives on. Praise God.
Wow. Keith's story is amazing. I pray that I make my life count every day for Jesus and have the inspiration from the Spirit to keep moving even when things get difficult. I'll be moving from the US soon to Peru to teach in a Christian school to those holding world religions. May God use me like He used Keith to spread the Gospel message to the ends of the earth as the east is to the west.
i recently threw away 1000+ cd collection and what a joy it has been to discover this man's ministry.... I found a quote of his in the book of jonah in my 'evidence bible'... I love the way the Lord works in people's lives....
Thank you for posting this great Info. I got saved in 1977 and listening to Keith Green's songs really helped me to grow and Witness to my friends. Especially his line about "Going to McDonald's doesn't make you a hamburger any more than going to church makes you a Christian." I'm so glad I will be meeting Keith in heaven one day.............I'm sure he's touched millions of lives about Christ.
keith, 2nd chapter of acts, randy, I got saved in 84 and these guys just floored me and kept me weeping and still to this day. What a blessing they have been and still are, Praise God I just bought keiths and the 2nd chapter of acts last year also love me some kelly willard, michelle pillar, i thank God we have access to this amazing praise whenever we want. God is so sweet!
Thank you so much for posting this video. I have read the book of Keith and Melody's story but the video brings the story to life. Praise the Lord for Keith's obedience to Him because it has impacted so many people and still is!
Truly an amazing man he had a farm and took people in and showed them the ways of jesus. this video shows a friend of mine named Ken Brothers, Ken was part of Keith's Ministry you see him waving on this video (black hair) Ken said Keith took people off the streets and ministered to them feed them, and helped them they all took part on the farm. GOD BLESSED Keith Green but most important is Where do you stand today?
I am a minister of 40 years now. Keith and his testimony and his blessed music was and still is a driving force that keeps me going, ever pressing toward that high calling of God. Praise Jesus! PRAISE JESUS!!!!!
This is making me cry! I miss this man, his music, and his testimony! I remember seing him at a concert in Little Rock, AR when I was in college... then... not long after that, he was with the Lord, making music in heaven before the Lord! Praise God for Keith Green!
At 42:10 I started crying and can't stop. I was one of those who couldn't afford the album and they sent "So You Wanna Go Back To Eygpt" album to me for free. I think I may have sent one dollar. I was only 12 or 13 years old (that's been over 30 years ago) and a new Christian living in a non-Christian home and felt really out of place. But my love for God, God's word, my church and contemporary Christian and Worship music were the things that kept me going and they still do. R.I.P. Keith.
Lord i'm gonna love you, yes! i'm gonna love you, oh! i'm gonna love you Lord, with all that's in my heart, thx Keith for show me what important is this and thx God for Keith's Life.
I bought some of Keith's audio tapes a couple of years ago at a Goodwill store. I had never heard of him before then. I'm always looking for new songs to sing in church so I was excited to hear what was on the tapes. When I listened to them I thought "Wow, why had'nt I heard of him before(maybe cause I was brought up in a southern baptist faith!)lol. I love the songs especially "Rushing Wind". It is great to finally know a little about the man behind the songs.
@immeasurablymore It's called Keith Green: The Live Experience (Special Edition). It has a CD of concert performances and a DVD with this documentary (which is called "Love Broke Through: The Keith Green Story") and concert footage. Excellent set.
@thebig1 and @skellys3 The song at the end is Keith Green's song "Your Love Broke Through," which is the song this documentary was named after. It was produced by his wife Melody and various friends of theirs.
@thebig1@skellys3 The film was produced by Melody Green; the closing piece is Your Love Broke Through from Keith Green's 1st album For Him Who Has Ears to Hear
@daveme7 This Keith Green excerpt is from the "First Love: A Historic Gathering of Jesus Music Pioneers" and you can purchase the entire series on Amazon. Money well spent, and that's an understatement. Lord Bless.
It drives me to tears. 20 years ago the leader of my german bible study group shared "Open Your Eyes" with me. Keithe Songs influenced my whole life. Every time I´m listenig to his records, there´s an open chanel and i feel the Lord is talking to me. Thank you, Keith and Melody! You cannot imagine what your work meens to me. Be blessed! Michael
Thank you SO much for this.....I have never seen it but listening to Keith's music is what started my walk with God.....I often wonder how many other fantastic songs we missed out on by him leaving us to be with Jesus.....
Thank you for posting this. I will now replay some of his vinyl albums...I still remember his songs by heart. His music was inspirational and touched me back in the late '70s
I can really identify with his life challanges. "To obey is better than sacrafice, I want hearts on fire not your prayers of ice"..... WOW. I hope to meet you, Keith, when we gather around The Father and His Son. Maranatha.
Keith Green went to be with the Lord in 1982 after a plane crash. His music lives on in my heart, and God's Holy Spirit often ministers to me through the rememberance of the lyrics in my mind's ear.
Keith Green died in plane accident on July 28, 1982 with his two young children and another family of 8. They were just going up for a quick tour of the LDM property but the plane was too heavy and they crashed about 20 to 30 seconds after takeoff. The crash killed everyone on board.
Keith was an amazing guy, from what I've seen and heard. He was fun-loving, jovial, and yet intense and forthright. I will always wish that I had met him when I was living. I know I will in heaven someday, or at least I hope! LOL ( I know we'll both be there I just don't know if there'll be time to meet people we'd never met in earth life! LOL)
LORD, raise up a few more Keith Greens to this present very VERY needy generation ! ... someone radically saved, ... and completely unashamed of the Gospel. ... there are A FEW. ... we need at least 3 or 4 dozen MORE ! Hear us and HELP, O LORD !
I've been looking for this music since June of 1995 when my friend Darren blessed me with his tape of Keith Green, and then he committed suicide. The RCMP said that I was the last person to see him alive. My tears still flow when I hear Keith's Music.
Blessings to you as you hear the music of this great man.
I know how he was feeling when he felt this way. I have this calling as well. God Bless You. smile I always loved Keith Green and respected him so very much. Wish he could have stayed with us longer.
I was a very new sincere Christian when I first heard Keith perform at a High School in Lancaster County Pa. I don't remember the year ( between 1979 and 1980 I think), anyway, The Lord through him was able to open up a heart like no other for me. Even to this day I can still read what God wrote on the page of my heart. I am sensing that same Spiritual experience even now. They are being triggered through the song bites in this story. It is sobering, awesome, and beautiful. Praise the Lord!
The first time I heard Love Broke Through, I had goose bumps, or "glory bumps" and I still get them every time I hear it. I praise JESUS for Keith's love and commitment to JESUS CHRIST.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty. The wicked flee when noone pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion. Do Not associate with those given to CHANGE! Do NOT be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes, For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught. - Proverbs
At first I didn't like Keith Green because my friends were always talking about him and that bothered me, I thought, "give Jesus the glory". But watching this, Keith was bothered too about people lifting him up instead of Jesus. I was moved by the songs, the dedication, the commitment and no compromise. I am glad to have watched this video, it set my feelings for Keith straight. I hope I come across his recordings someday. God Bless
Thank you for posting this video. Brings back a lot of great memories. I remember being in the front row at one of his concerts. I wept and wept. Keith looked down at me as if he had broken something. I never was the same. He was so intense. It was as if the piano and Keith were one. Truely a a man the Holy Spirit moved through...spoke through.
He knew he was a paper boy...a pencil. That's how he did what he did. It was Jesus speaking through him. Listen!
I've been listening to KAAY and hearing all the music but as soon as I heard this guy I knew he was special , this has been going on for about 9 months .

- Proverbs

I admire not worship; Kieth Green, and praise the Lord that he had a genuine experience with G-d before he stepped out of this life and into eternity

Listen!

Awesome! Keith Green's story needs to be told. His music meant a lot to us at a time when we were seeking and finding real truth in Jesus Christ.
