@pierreluc3200 I've only been to Montreal on a school trip when I was young. When I tried speaking french there they would insult me and answer in english. That's always the way, english with french accent fine, but have an anglo accent speaking french and you get dismissed. I live in New Brunswick and being bilingual is not enough. I suppose I should just pretend I'm like her english step-sons and sit with a blank look on my face while they carry on their conversation. They even tried to talk me out of teaching my child french. That's what they consider protecting their Acadian culture. Not letting anglos participate. Your english friends are lucky you are more understanding of them.

Is your question about the french language or the french culture? The culture highlighted in the olympics of 2010 was that of the First Nations. It was probably high time that english and french speaking Canadians give them some recognition on the world stage.

Ya I'm not a Canadian but I truly support Canada on the Vancouver Winter Games. Although the Winter Olympic Games just held for 2 weeks but these 2 weeks there are so many memorable moments.
