  • i love lamp

  • @adavidbujanda

Brick, do you really love the lamp?

  • Tanhauser Gate. Nice =D

  • All you mad scientist out there. It's fun trying to figure out this stuff thats why we watch theses movies, By the way they provided oxygen to the garbage hold to keep it fresh so it does not smell and he survived the fall because he landed on a pile of trash bags.

  • Let me 'clarify' this a bit more for you: this is just a movie. Very entertaining, but still just a movie.

By the way, why would a garbage barge provide oxygen to the garbage hold in the first place?

    And on it goes!

  • holy shit we're gonna have all this in 2 years?

  • @a1175779 Better pick a good mate to have you're babies enter this program.

  • @a1175779 todd is 17 in 2013 and *dies* at the age of 38, so thats in ?

    2034.

  • Ok, so a 30 foot fall off a chain knocked him unconcious but a 500 foot fall out of a junk ship and he hops right up? Weird....

  • @DonkeySlapper84 Yeah, how exactly does he survive that fall from the junk carrier, I would love to know. Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe they used some kind of beam to drop off the stuff slowly but then they show us a scene of how fast its dropping from the ships. Big time flaw!

  • @sadgreen Perhaps gravity is just weak enough that terminal velocity isn't a fast as it would be on Earth causing the fall to be painful but easily survivable. Or maybe this movie is just full of holes. :^)

  • @DonkeySlapper84 I like your idea of terminal velocity. Lets see:

    1) the density of the air was thick enough (everyone's respiratory system adapted)

    2) the gravity was low

    3) Kurt Russell lost a lot of weight

    4) Kurt Russell spread himself out like a flying squirrel

    :)

  • @sadgreen if the atmosphere was such weak, there wouldnt be so strong winds.....

  • @DonkeySlapper84 Easy to explain.

    ...shut up.

  • @MadnessJuan Thanks for the clarification, dick.

  • 2:27

    Whoa!

that's one big damn junk yard...even got a aircraft carrier along with the other junk.

Talk about waste disposal....they'll be sorry for tosing a their best soldier Sgt. Todd in the scrap yard.

  • @wildmann23

Hell, if they are tossing Aircraft Carriers that Mexico would give their baby nuts for, what's one man?

  • Waste disposal planet... used only for dumping trash, but is complete with oxygen enough for living conditions :)

  • they have all this technology and they're still using humans for soldiers?

youd figure if they have interstellar space ships they'd have a couple androids

i saw tinbeams flitter in the dark at taunhouser gate

  • they have all this technology and they're still using humans for soldiers?

youd figure if they have interstellar space ships they'd have a couple androids

  • @MarcusTheReverent This was how the Matrix was thwarted.

  • In this Era... Directors might just think of copy and to be copied.

Besides making conversion of super heroes to living film... There ain't ideas of making good films nowadays. What a Jerk :(

The 90's.. The era of where numerous good films were made. Way da' go SOLDIER (1998). Kurt Russell rocked my world!.

  • .....its hard to believe, but the US government and corporations ARE this evil and ruthless!.............

  • fuckin...he just has no luck....

  • ive.... seen things you people wouldn't believe....

  • "Now I want a vote of support out of all of you."

Then it's not really a vote, is it?

  • This movie reminds me of john scalzi old man's war trilogy must read for anyone who likes this film especially ghost brigade

  • hahaha...Kurt Russel...barely any dialogue in this movie.....guess he wasnt up for at the time...took the money....nice

  • danm thats a long drop to survive

  • that's not Earth.

  • If thats Earth, then is there a back story or something telling us what happened to it?

  • 4:05,fucking religion is still there... -.-'

  • I think Kurt Russell's character had maybe 10-15 lines in this.

  • @Ben1977820

actually 79 words out of the total 99 minutes of the film to be exact according to yahoo news

  • @Rohv 104. for the 20 millions he got, that is 197.000 a word ^^

  • @robertgaudlitz That would be if the most valuable thing in the movie were words...

  • Been forever since I've seen this.

  • thats earth in 2030

  • @Stridus7 No, it's not Earth. Watch part 4, about 3 minutes in. The woman says their group left Earth 12 years ago to go settle on the Trinity Moons, but they crashed on this planet instead.

  • H mm whats worse? Our planet earth or there disposal planet?

  • The planet is called sector4 its inhabitants are biracials

  • LA LA LOOO LOOO LOOO LEE LAA LOOOOOOOO

  • Wow. Hot.

  • disposing a aircraft carrier off-planet ?

    LOL............

  • Do we not recycle in the future?

  • a whole planet for garbage disposal? WM would love that !

  • how is it that planet has oxygen :S?

  • @Nativeaboriginal It is the planet formerly known as earth. Notice the parking meters and other hints. :)

  • @cotybarker yeah but not trees lol beside that crappy little nursery they have haha

  • Burning bodies costs money. It is cheaper to dump them. Remember how the guy complained how much it cost to feed his now one-eyed soldier. Also, he said dump them far away, so I feel all is well explained.

  • One of my all time favorite movies, ever.

  • forget the pulse oversight... how the hell did he survive a fall from hundreds of meters high into a landfill?

  • @badpeq

    Movie Magic

  • good point.

  • It looked like maybe 50-100ft at most

  • @badpeq lower gravity

  • the shit box is modern day America

  • WHy didnt they just burn the bodies? there is so much wrong with this scene, oh well

  • @OhmygodSportacus its callled a movie, if they burned the bodies there was nothing to watch but the credits till the end...

  • would you check kurt russell for a pulse? the safest bet is to just put it in drive and get the fuck out of there before the highway patrol turns up.

  • And NO ONE remembered to check Kurt for a pulse.

  • haha I can only imagine our Canadian Army doin this, but the test would be way different "SOLDIER! OPEN THAT MAPLE SYRUP NOW! MOVE MOVE! NOW CHUG CHUG!"

  • ever hear of the JTF2? They dont train with maple syrup

  • what a shit movie

  • Yeah Arcadia is a real shit hole!

  • funny the waste disposal planet is called Arcadia... hahaha

  • he d0sent know no better!! hes just a soldier! what he needs is love!!!

  • Im sure they would be dumping all that shit out in the middle of nowhere.

  • the other guy (Jason Scott Lee)

was like 33 when the movies was made

  • h e e s not all h u m an dummy

  • how did he servive that fall

  • Nice one !!!

  • Like planets rich enough in O2 are so common that we'd waste one on trash. No way. Good movie, though. One of my favs.

  • earth is the waste planet, and in the future there could be 3 suns, who knows, maybe in 2012

  • it's a real hot jelly sandwich.

  • Mother Very T(terra)houghtfuly made jelly sandwiches under no P(not really a planet)rotest.

  • The only way a soldier is truly defined is in battle or war. Awesome movie!

  • Dude Russel's forty, the other dude is what...in his 20's. Russell's all natural, the other guy is probably drugged up. NE way it's about experience and Russell owns him on that. No contest.

  • i just look Russell up he was 46 years old in this movie

  • 3:30 CLOSE YOUR EYES MAN!

  • Comment removed

  • cool movie, even though it's kinda cheesy hehe

  • anyone think that this wasteplanet is actually earth? i mean look at the shot at 3:56. thats an aircraft carrier. and is that a parking meter he was holding onto when the sandstorm hit? just a thought.

  • I can definatly see what you are saying......only thing i can think of is the colony put the meters there for anchor points.....other wise yes this will be earth in the future

  • Last time I checked Earth didn't have 3 suns.

  • @PrometheX it's not the earth

  • @Gabe1585 I know. It was a reply toYaUussi. I was stating that earth doesn't have 3 suns so it couldn't be earth.

  • @PrometheX It's another planet.

  • @ImmaNoobodyO I know...

  • no its just a waste planet, those things have to be dumped somewhere

  • now he is the toughest bastard alive, second only to me

  • I was in the marines and I have to say that the one thing that is also needed but don't get from their training is brotherhood. The bond you have with each man you fight alongside with which makes you a unit. thats why the new breed loses because they are just machines whle kurt russell finds something to fight for.

  • i tell you what It must piss you off watching some military programmes on tv and you can nit-pick on whats good and bad. I like this movie though and I like the military equipment used and those guys look bad ass with the flame thrower's and the masks ect. Its the kinda stuff you wanna wear when your engaged in combat but then switch over to different clothing once you've secured an area so you don't intimidate the local population i.e. soft hats foot patrols ect

  • @Jond9111 i agree oorah marine corps

  • @Jond9111 That's true, but Kurt Russel is sorta between you and the new breed because they were more or less just trained in the military rules and not really offered any time to chat.

  • @Jond9111

Eh. Usual science is bad bullshit you get in films. If I had a dollar for every film that had "heart" and "brotherhood" and old school values triumphed over technology and know-how, I'd have quite a lot of dollars. Not a bad film, but a very cliched concept.

  • @harlequin2262

You're right, of course. I would have preferred seeing him beat the New Soldiers with creative weapons he innovated, and have the colonists come up with attack plans that weren't in the New Soldiers' training, using whatever they could invent. I mean, they have a whole planet of junk to work with...

  • Comment removed

  • @Jond9111 the new generation are units by themselves

  • @Jond9111 YOU'RE RIGHT SOLDIER.

  • Oh hey, Sean Pertwee :D

  • why would a garbage ship have oxygen for the garbage? secondly, why would they dump garbage on a planet with an atmosphere?!

  • Because its a movie.

  • lol

  • use power Luck :)

  • good point, also why would they not just burn the bodies if they are so on it.

  • There is oxygen because there must be a crew to pilot the ship, and if something goes wrong in the area where the garabage is, and one of the crew needs to go in, they can still breath, duh! I grant you the planet thing though, but it is a movie.

  • As to why waste a colonizable planet as a garbage dump, I dunno, maybe there are plenty of them and this one was close by and easy to dump trash on. As to why there's oxygen on the garbage ship, I assume it was loaded on earth and the atmosphere was sealed in.

  • well if you wanna be technical why is there an aircraft carrier dumped there as well when the cost of moving trash is so expensive to move a huge chunk of an aircraft carrier.. Its for set design who cares man just sit back and enjoy it for what it is.

  • @wetbutter very good questions, but simply these facts make easier for the movie to focus on the plot

  • One of kurt's better movies mb

Good stuff; but highly unlikely.. lol 2036 and flying shit galore

  • woot, they have a disposed aircraft carrier lol

  • We should start dumping our garbage and nuclear waste on the moon. =D

  • But we need the moon it plays an vital role to the earth's enviroment. Maybe shoot it out into Dead Space.

  • Naaah. Jupiter. Vi would never be able to live there anyways.

  • also... half the crap they drop is metal.. wtf lol

  • guess they're not gonna be big on recycling a few decades from now.

  • Jupiter would be good. The gravity would make sure it never gets out into space again and the pressure would destroy everything. Only problem is the magnetic field around Jupiter which would kill any human that gets close enough. So we need a remote controlled ship with its own magnetic field. Moon is a bad idea since we plan to colonize it.

  • todd is a hard guy

  • ok. so he isnt dead afterall
