@qbulb Not really. All life, is extremely tenacious, & once it starts, it accomplishes incredible feats regularly. All it needs is favorable conditions and plenty of time. Which is what WE were fortunate enough to have, & though I believe that other thinking species exist elsewhere, I doubt it'd be anywhere near as common as simpler life. There very well could be only a few dozen sophont species in the our Galaxy, but I bet that some of them are just as complex, if not more so than we are! :)
