  • How did you mount the camera and power it?

  • @jeremiahjw Late response but this was a tripod that had two feet on the floor and one in between my legs. I was riding at the time and let the weight of my hand stabalize it. It was on a single charge of the battery, nothing special. Just turn off the screen, focus, and any stabalizer and you can shoot like 6 hours on a charge.

  • have you tried using a polarizer to get rid of the glare from the dash?

  • This is by far the best time lapse video I have seen.

I really love how you included all the stops and gas refills.

It really brings into perspective how fast things were moving.

    Great Video

  • Wow, love this! It's right up my road trippin' alley. Thanks for driving!

  • I did a journey from Los Angeles to Flagstaff, and I loved the whole trip!

  • The car looks like it jumps at 2:06

  • epic

  • This is defiantly something i wanna do. Would be a good excuse just to drive from one side of Canada to the other. Over a couple days even.

  • What interstates were these?

  • @perrytheplatypus41 V0.5. If you mean for real, it was Florida Turnpike for the vast majority. Then I think it was bronson memoral to orange blossom. i wasn't really paying attention though, I wasn't driving.

  • 0 people are.. wait no

  • @lorenzzo1995 Still can't believe that's still the case. Wish I had rights to the music, I'd put it on my other channel.

  • @brt5470 Its beacuse this video is awesome and the music too

  • gawd i love these kinda vids... speeding up a 12 hour experience in super fast-mo...

  • a stupid question : i heard that taking photos every 3-5 second for 2 or 3 Continuous hours 'll effect my cam "mine is canon 7d"

and another one is what device you used for taking continuous shots :)

    thank you

  • @aaalotaibi Could you rephrase that please? if you mean this is wear for the camera yes. My camera probably has like 70,000 actuations on it. About 3/4th of it's rated life. It is wear, but the 7D is rated for 300,000 I think. Which is alot.

  • My favorite part is the clouds. I love how they go so slowly compared to the ground rushing past. It seems so serene...

  • When I saw this I started to jerk my gears.

  • O_o!!! Best song ever and video!!

  • this makes me want to get in my car and drive. not looking at what i am leaving behind, not knowing where i am going. just driving till the tank runs out, enjoying every second of it.

  • Oh, My, God! This is one of the best things i've ever seen in my entire life!

  • get the receipt/napkin off your dash next time, otherwise flawless :P with-some reflection ;)

  • @itburnswhenip The biggest issue was that I knew the receipt was there, but I wasn't aware it was reflecting into the camera. The camera was at a different angle than me.

  • This makes me forget everything...

I can't get enough of your stuff, man.

When I get a job I'm saving up for a camera just to make timelapse videos.

  • @commonlemme Good way to use photography and turn it into a form of video production. Timelapses are probably some of the best tests of patience. It only ever shows it's true form when it's finally rendered and processed about 10-11 hours later.

  • This is amazing. IDK what else to say.

  • How does this not have more views? :O This was an awesome video. Oh, and Moby ftw!

  • Can you make the same video except with a camera in your food and record digestion?

  • i want to make this a loop and put it as my desktop background... absolutely amazing

  • I scratch my beard in deep thought.

  • @ghetde So do I, heh.

  • how many miles was the trip?

  • I can't look away from the clouds!

  • Ommmmfg, I LOVE it <3

  • no disrespect or anything but it sounds like the old pedophile guy from family guy is singing this

  • @ThatRomanDude You no like Moby?

  • @brt5470 It sounds good its just he sounds like the old guy from family guy

  • Really nice work. Time well spent

  • clouds look awesome

  • Itsl like an extreme real life racing game :D

  • I loved watching the sky...great video man.

  • awesome video, what equipment did you use?

  • @Sidewinder0010 Inthedescription

  • @brt5470 wow, don't know how I missed that. Sorry

  • @Northgtabeast Traveling with my mother to Boca Raton from Orlando. She needed someone on the ride for help, I got to shoot this as my payment.

  • Wow good looking sky =)

  • I can definitely agree with your feelings on the color, considering just watching it made me want to go out and drive with no destination and no intention, just listening to the music on the radio and tuning out everything but the sound and the road.

Turning something as mundane as an errand run into something so fantastic.. Beautiful work.

  • You inspire me to live on and accomplish my goals in life. Right now in this time of life i'm going through a busy period but i hope my work will bring out the same in others one day. Great work! :D

  • @BadSackBoyZ I remember thinking, I hope this doesn't mess it up, And now it's one of my favorite sections.

  • I must imagine the recoded filesize was probably as large as the galaxy?

  • I cried when the video ended. I wanted more :(

  • wow amazing work dude. Alot of your videos are mad pro. keep up the good work dude. Really enjoyed it

  • Man i just found your channel from Notch's Tumblr (the minecraft guy) and seriously your videos are awesome, you manage to pick some simple things and turn them in entertaining and also relaxing videos to watch, specially this one which is my personal favorite, man you deserve a medal, seriously, congratulations for your amazing work.

  • @LSPena777 That comment makes me incredibly happy. Thank you.

  • @LSPena777 i second this :o

  • This video is breathtakingly spectacular.

  • Ummm... I love you, okay?

  • those clouds are beautiful

  • Sir, Lady, You have excessed the maximum speed limit.

  • Really great work! I tried out doing a timelapse like this as well. I think you colored yours better than I did mine to be honest.

  • @xFu510nx It takes me a long time to find a color scheme I like. Usually I use something like this as a base though. Green Skies, Yellow Clouds, Blue-Green shadows. Feels retro and like it captures the feeling of being out there on the road. Hard to explain. But this kind of color gives me the feeling of travel in the afternoon. Relaxing somehow.

Anyways, good luck with your future projects.

  • @brt5470 Thanks for the help! If you wanna check out the one I tried you can see it here... /watch?v=OZjhcz7-ack

I filmed it with a 8mm fish eye so it was a little more distorted.

  • I could easily see this as a commercial for a brand of a car!

  • @Gabrielhehu Glad you think so. Thanks.

  • Beautiful images! Great, great work! Really well done. ♥

  • colors are eyecandy

  • Wow, the Earth really looks like a sphere when you look at the sky over time...cool!

  • Absolutely beautiful, may I ask what the song you used is? :)

  • @Syger Errrm, nevermind. Just noticed it at the bottom of the video desc. Not it's usual place, my bad. :)

  • @Syger I'd have added it to description, but I decided to let Youtube tell the viewers, heh.

  • That's pretty awesome. Much props.

  • Awesome video! Keep up the great work!

What did you use to mount the camera in your car?

  • @fatcaten Tripod. Braced with my hands. I was just along for the ride, so I held the tripod steady on the floorboards for 4 hours.

    :D

  • @brt5470 it was worth it!

    Absolutely amazing

  • Wow, really beautiful. I knew what it was going to be from the preview and title but I wasn't expecting it to be so hypnotic.

  • simple yet perfect

  • Great stuff, I decided to take a look after Jim mentioned on FP :D

  • @Animagus336 I need to add that to the description. My mother had requested I join her on a day trip to Orlando to adopt a rabbit. (I guess for help if anything went wrong). This video was on the trip back Roughly 250 miles. We were going at Mach 6.5 according to the video.

  • great song choice

  • @b0redx9 I usually spend a few days finding music. It's tough finding a song with a temp and atmosphere that matches. Not to mention one that fits the duration.

  • Glorious!

  • 1:07 OMG :O its a giant egret!

  • I loved watching those clouds, especially at the gas station.

  • I loved this video, my 1337:th favorite.

I don't know what to say but, congratulations to a great video.

  • What a stylish Video!

    I'm very impressed & inspired!

    THX!

  • Hey, awesome work, really admire it. Did you use a picture style of your eos to achieve this Classic Film Color Grading look or did you postprocess the video?

Which software did you use to make this?

  • @xbastix53 I shoot as flat as I can. Minimum sharpness, minimum contrast, minimum enhancement. Then I edit in either Sony Vegas or Adobe After Effects. For this, I used Sony Vegas and a few iterations of Color Curves.

  • @brt5470

Wow, ok,I desperately tried all day log yesterday to achieve thie effect for my pictures in Photoshop or Lightroom ... don`t get my pictures to look as yours, although I have the same camera.

Do you know whether there is any documentation on how to edit photos or videos like this as this is definitely an awesome effect.

Is there any chance you could do a short tutorial about this in either Photoshop/Lightroom or Vegas/Aftereffects?

I would really enjoy your help and guidance!

  • @xbastix53 I will certainly add a color grading guide to my upcoming list of tutorials.

As a general aim for you. I used curves for the color. To get the yellow high lights, bump up the green and red channels in the right side. More green than Red, hard to explain. As for the green -blue shadows, simply remove some red in the lowlights and remove a small amount of blue. This is the general idea behind it. I used many separate Curves adjustments.

  • why is this so good

  • @xStanley360 Moby + Classic Film Color Grading + Car Trip = Probably the ultimate good feeling. There is something amazing about looking out the car window in florida. It's so incredibly empty and flat between My home and central florida, it's both creepy and inspiring when I travel.

  • how many pictures total?

  • @acousticalroots Just under 4,200.

  • Fucking amazing

  • Amazing stuff. Those clouds O_O. And this is so stable for a car shoot. Want the music.

  • So you sat with a camera between your legs all the way there? lol

  • @xbukissik One leg was dividing me. Yes, but I knew it would look great. Hence the title.

  • This is awesome! May I ask how are you taking the photos (free hand? I doubt it. stand?) and on what intervals?

  • @VuorensolaR I thought I added that info. It was 3 seconds. Normally for skies, or traffic I use 5-6seconds. At night, maybe 8-10seconds. But to actually see objects going by, I made it rather short.

As for the camera. I used a tripod. I was in the passenger side, I put one leg in my groin-al area. And the other two legs down on the floor. And I would put a hand on them center shaft to stabilize it on turns and bumps. I let it shake on purpose because I didn't want this to seem like glass.

  • @brt5470 Thanks for the info. For some reason I can't see descriptions in every video O_o. But still I think this is VERY amazing : D Gotta love this.

  • that was pretty sweet dawg.

  • Best time lapse......ever.

  • Beautiful

  • ooo lawdy.
