One more thing. The original iPad charger can supply 2.1 Amp, but the iPad actually only uses 1.6 Amp when it charges. (Yes I was able to measure it) Once it's over 80% it drops down to 1.2 Amp and over 90 it drops even lower. So in reality the charge time on a PC or an iPhone charger isn't that much longer. Realistically you can about 50% faster charge times with the original power adapter, not twice as fast.
@Adrian890722 hehe i hear ya... really it has to do with power output of your usb, which is the same for all pc's and higher power wattage sadly doesnt effect it (i think it should). did this driver help you at all?
How long should be the initial charge for the iPad? I just ordered one and I searched on google and I read different answers. Some people claimed 4 hours, others claimed charging it overnight. I wanna use the device as soon as I finishe syncing all the apps. What are your thoughts? BTW, thanks for the tips.
@JSantana319 usually the advice for initial charge on electronics in general is double to triple time of usual charge time. What i do is fully charge it and leave it for another couple of extra hours, as long as you fully charge your ipad first few times you use it, you will get full capacity of your battery. My battery lasts for a long time, i dont use it too much, i charge it only couple of times a week, overnight, not because it takes all night, just because i dont want to get up to unplug it
@Ciaobella006 yes there is, but not as enough juice as the wall charger....that would be a pretty big solar charger. there are solar chargers for iphone 4 and ipad 2 that work pretty well and they dont take too long. i wouldnt suggest getting a iphone 3g or 3gs solar charger for ipad 2. (only iphone 4)
@FoxxEFFEX well it should be charging slowly when connected to pc and not in use. about not connecting to itunes, i think its because you have an older version of itunes, upgrade it to the latest version and it should work fine. let me know if it helps.
@channelperth well thats kinda not cool at all, not everyone is from australia, joey. ...kangaroo, shrimp on the barbie. <<< you like stereotypes ??? yeah not cool not cool.....australian butt pirates
