On my youtube channel i've just uploaded Part One of Six short film/ experimental film series from UK we're making.. would love to have some feedback we're new to this and are inspired from videos such as these :D good luck also with other videos you creat keep up the good work!! x
this is beautiful. im a analogue photographer getting my first super 8 soon. this is perfect. i what i wanted ot ask though was how many roles did u shoot to get the final thing? i think im under the illusion that im gonna take one maybe two rolls on a weekend holiday and get nice 3 minute clip edited at the end of it! i have a feeling your gonna tell me thats not the case!
@DJarkham Many thanks for your nice comment. The clip is edited mainly to fit the music track length from an original 10min holiday short. I seem to remember x6 rolls shot in total = x4 K40 & x2 Tri-x (b&w) & only the best scenes used here:) Best of luck shooting your holiday!
Wow. What a work of art. Can you still get super 8? I was doing standard 8mm for a while and processing it myself. Came out with some beautiful footage of my kids. I left that hobby, though. Wife got made at all the time I was dedicating on it. LOL
I'm sorry, but as good as HD, and DV, and all the new technologies are , NOTHING will ever beat Super 8 Film. The look, speed, quality, it's all just great!!
Thanks for sharing this. I didn't realize that people were still shooting Super 8 and it brought back wonderful memories for me. I also liked your choice of music.
Many thanks for your comment! The processed super 8 K40 film was telecined via a Rank Cintel Mk III TK machine/unit to DigiBeta and MiniDV tape formats for digitizing into a PC for editing. Good luck with your filmmaking!
this summer (4-7 july) I've visited Rome as well, with my kodak instamatic m4 - super 8 camera. The film isn't digitalised yet, but it looks quite similar :) the film I made has been shot on a kodak plus-x 7276. as well out of production :(
Nice video. Thank you for posting this, brought back some good memories of the places I've seen about 5 yrs ago. I think Italy's one of the coolest places in europe at the moment, and you seem to have captured that here.
Excelente, gostei muito dessa forma de mostrar um fim de semana diferente, elevando à filmagem uma categoria profissional. Particulamente falando também gosto muito do SUPER-8.
Nice! Its 2003 but it looks 1960s. Super 8 is cool.

Yeah but Super 8 films are expensive. Developing makes them even more expensive.

how many minutes does a 50ft film last?
joeepperson 2 years ago
A single super 8 film roll at 24fps = 2.5mins or 18fps = 3.3mins (approx.). Regards.

Because the proccesing of the stock was very polluting for the atmosphere. Yup, no joke.
