All this talk about traction, ETs, and trap speeds is misleading.

Better traction CAN/DOES often lead to lower trap speeds... BUT...priority #1 when racing on the 1320 is ALWAYS going to be ET.

Trap speed is just an extra performance indicator.

If SPEED were the main concern, then you'd be racing on salt, and traction wouldn't be such a big deal :]

from what i have seen, this applies to traction limited vehicles far more often than vehicles with plenty of traction.

vehicles with traction will be accelerating from the line using more power, and put a much more consistent amount of track away from the start

on high HP evos you see the trap/et variation big time

good launch=lower trap

bad launch=higher trap

more room to put the engine to the max acceleration

drive down a flat road with a hill at the end at 100 ..just cruise and DO NOT move the go fast peddle when you get to the hill and tell me what interesting things you find......notice how when u start to slow down without accelarating ( thus not putting anymore air into the engine ) your turbo starts to produce boost... now why is this???? because the gasses are heating up and expanding creating more air out of the same amount or molecules in turn turning your turbo

tires and suspension i would relate more to "traction"=ET .......... which would technically result in a lower trap the better you get off the line..... but that has more to do with giving you less track to accelerate, than more power to accelerate with..

the slicks get the car outta the hole, moving the car down the 1/4m quicker, giving the car less total distance to put on top speed.

the quicker you get out of the hole, the less room you have to move.
