It does get annoying (but when you live here, you deal with it.) But, just common logic would tell you that it is the feed that messed up. If it was in house noise added, you still would have heard the actual crowd during the moment (people would still be heard) not to mention, slight tape delay could easily mess up.

First of all I was at that game. And at no point in time during the game did anything make a sound like that. That had to have been the audio from broadcasting though the T.V or something. This is stupid. It is the sound of a tape in pause. The only audio coming into the broadcast truck is from the ref's mic. There is no audio sent back to the stadium.
If this sound was caused by the Colts, it would not be that clear. I was at the game and did not hear anything like that. The only audio feed that is coming from the stadium audio to the production truck is the audio line from the ref. The audio of the crowd comes from CBS mics that they placed themselves. Leaving a tape channel up on the audio board when a tape is being played and then it is paused, would cause this sound exactly. You people are stupid for believing that sound was piped in.

Truth is it makes a huge difference not for just that play but the entire game especially on audibles it limits them as players can't hear what the qb is saying. Making the Stadium loud isn't illegal. This isn't golf here. There are rules against playing music during a play but their was nothing illegal here. There are always mistakes during live broadcasts. Especially how networks mic stadiums. If there is an audio equipment malfunction i assume it would sound odd.

I've been to games at the Metrodome and The Louisiana Superdome and the noise during big plays always sounds unreal. its a combination of two things...the crowd is mic'ed and cbs fox and espn turn up the crowd noise in order to make the broadcast more exciting for home viewers...the dome itself that the colts used to play in is also built in a way that the noise has nowhere to go and thus it creates its own echo and increases the noise

That guy is a fucking idiot. He's just a Peyton Manning hater, so anything he has to say against the Colts organization can be thrown completely out the window. He also needs to grow the hell up. I wasn't at this particular game, but I was at the Colts/Pats game in 2008, and the crowd was insanely loud! And the roof was open. So I can only imagine how loud it is with the roof closed. The Colts aren't cheaters, it def. sounds like an audio issue to me. Anyone who believes this is just gullible.

This is stupid. It is the sound of a tape in pause. The only audio coming into the broadcast truck is from the ref's mic. There is no audio sent back to the stadium.

If this sound was caused by the Colts, it would not be that clear. I was at the game and did not hear anything like that. The only audio feed that is coming from the stadium audio to the production truck is the audio line from the ref. The audio of the crowd comes from CBS mics that they placed themselves. Leaving a tape channel up on the audio board when a tape is being played and then it is paused, would cause this sound exactly. You people are stupid for believing that sound was piped in.

if it wasn't a big deal the patriots wouldn't bother adding that to make the game harder on the patriots. Truth is it makes a huge difference not for just that play but the entire game especially on audibles it limits them as players can't hear what the qb is saying. Also through the helmet they can't hear what the coach is relaying through the play. I played football crowd noise makes a HUGE difference.

Yeah, he did play in the RCA dome. The 2007 game was played in the RCA dome. The last game played in the RCA dome was the AFC divisional (choke job) game against the Chargers. Lucas Oil Stadium didn't open until the 2008 season.

RCA Dome officials later admitted the Colts do pump in fake crowd noise. so yes, they do cheat. they've also been accused mutiple times of tampering with visiting teams' radio headsets.
now, sure the Pats cheated. Cam Cameron and Mike Shannahan also admitted to taping signals, so Miami/Denver make two more teams. Jimmie Johnson and John Madden admitted to knowing other coaches tape signals. so, no it wasn't just NE doing it.

Bias much. If that was pumped in noise why can't you hear the 'real' crowd noise underlining it. You can't. It was the audio feed, so the sound was completely distorted altogether. Making the Stadium loud isn't illegal. This isn't golf here. There are rules against playing music during a play but their was nothing illegal here. There are always mistakes during live broadcasts. Especially how networks mic stadiums. If there is an audio equipment malfunction i assume it would sound odd.

I know thats what I said in my comment. But the crowd can be as loud as they what during a play and thats what happened, I buy the audio equipment malfunction story. I've been to games at the Metrodome and The Louisiana Superdome and the noise during big plays always sounds unreal. However, there's nothing unusual about it, its just the acoustics of domed stadiums.

its a combination of two things...the crowd is mic'ed and cbs fox and espn turn up the crowd noise in order to make the broadcast more exciting for home viewers...the dome itself that the colts used to play in is also built in a way that the noise has nowhere to go and thus it creates its own echo and increases the noise

I also think Steelers are cheaters to in that game. Vanderjagt missed that fucker by a long shot. It was so funny. the Bettis fumble should have sealed it.
