@fleetwoodmacable LOL, I wouldn't go that far to say that. But Mr. Clapton is a genius on the guitar though; he is a prodigy and a force to be reckoned with.
Hi people! I have a band and we are trying to get noticed! We write our own songs by our selves and when we record in studios we do NOT use auto tune. Also, when we play live we do NOT lip sync.... just like the old days. We our going to put our songs up on our channel, some guitar and bass lessons here and there and some contests/giveaways where you can win some gear. PLEASE, visit our channel, subscribe and leave a comment. It would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Hey check out my cover of john lee hookers' "boom boom" /watch?v=iN8Oau7ofLc&feature=g-upl&context=G26c102aAUAAAAAAAAAA if you like it then comment and I might do a cover of this amazing song :) like so everyone sees! Peace :)
i was always a heavy metal guitarist but damn..... im starting to find a whole different world with the blues. really made me play much better than i use to.
Seven minutes of pure, quivering passion, “Layla” was Eric Clapton’s magnificent scream of Love for Patti Boyd (Future wife of his best friend, George Harrison, the Lead Guitarist of Beatles).
Every time I have seen Clapton he always has the mic set too high. I wonder if he does it on purpose to help with his throat and breathing while singing?
I once read that he set it that way to not look at the audience while singing and playing the guitar at the same time, so he can concentrate more on the music and that later on he got used to it, and its also more comfortable for him.
Duane Allman's slide playing lifted this song and Eric to another level. As many versions as Eric has played of Layla it has always missed the ethereal beauty of Allman's backing, duets, and solos. The world only heard the "album" version 3 times live. I was there for the first one at Curtis Hixon Hall, Tampa, Florida, Dec 1, 1970. I remember Duane at one point stood there listening to Eric solo on this song and shook his head in amazement.
In '92, on my son's 15th birthday, I took him to an Eric Clapton concert at the Sun Dome in St. Pete. It was the one and only time he and I attended a concert together, and it was my first time to see Clapton perform live. It's still a sweet memory. I know my son enjoyed himself, but from the opening strains of Layla and through to it's final chord, I think he might have preferred a more sedate Mom, because I went NUTS!. This song continues to give me unadulterated joy :)
I remember my mum playing this on the record player when I was about 3 or 4. Classic music like this will always live on long after the rest of us. :)
ERIC CLAPTON KICKS ASS! i'd REALLY appreciate it if you could check out my EC styled video, i really want feedback. cheers every1! help out the NEXT GENERATION OF THE BLUES..
How can somebody unlike a song I f they don't like the song they can just change they don't have to unlike just to prove it then the song gets a bad reputation.Take this for instance,an absolute classic but with nearly 1000 dislikes wtf
I love those... however you call them, change in music style or whatever. It simply gives an even better perception on things. I mean I haven't found (nor I am actively looking for, mind you!), the meaning of it all. But... who cares, it sounds epic, it depicts music styles from X-ies, so it is expected that it will sound 30+ years *old* from when it was composed, sure, but what's the point? I myself love this oldie but goodie type of music, because it lets me get into that timeline. Epic, IMO!
i've only heard of eric clapton from my dad and haven;t got around to looking him up on youtube but today i did..... when he played the guitar-'oh shit!'
you guys do know there are a bunch of studio versions that sound better right? Dont get me wrong, this is great, but its in claptons older age and live, which never sounds as good as the original recording. This is great but the studio version is even better.
@allstar00442288 Not many live versions of any songs sound great but in my opinion Clapton is better live. a feat which many artists will never achieve.
