Even though I like the concept of the Four Agreements I think that Ruiz book was full of nothing but Fluff, Filler, Good Time Vibes, Repetition, Obvious notions, and Contradictions. He states the obvious that everyone already knows in book form. Blinds everyone with pretty words yet he's not actually saying anything. Tells us all "WHAT" do do but not "HOW" to actually go about doing it. Spews OBVIOUS advice that everyone already knows but does it with a TON of pretty hypnotic words.

@idavidsawyer PS I'm not knocking the Four Agreements themselves (like I said I like the concept of the Four Agreements). It's Don Ruiz verbal diarrhea that I disagree with. This witter really knows how to talk to the laymen in a way that sounds like he's saying something important when he isn't. This guy is really raking in the dough by talking circles around people's minds. It's him I have a problem with and not the Taltec's Four Agreements. I understand and agree with the 4 Agreements.

@justseanmusic Thats because people "want" it to be great regardless. Like I said the 4 agreements themselves is wise though slightly naive but what I'm actually knocking on is the poor writing style used in the book. But people are easily wowed by a ton of pretty, emotional sounding words. He talks and talks but doesn't really say anything earth shattering. A lot of people will say a book or movie is fantastic simply because they are taken in by their emotions regardless of actual quality.

There are FIVE agreements. The fifth one is "Retain your power and never give it away". That's how you retain responsability for your actions. You will never say i was influenced by soviety because i never gave it my power.

This is really interesting, definitely something i'm going to eventually incorporate into my life. In most cases, understanding others and helping them not only betters them but it helps better yourself also.
