My grandfather runs a chicken farm and they don't look like this. Each chicken has a fairly large cage and it's droppings fall into a pool underneath that goes into a seperate building. Egg farming needs to be done in cages because it lets the egg go without being trampled on or pecked at by other chickens, and the farmer doesn't have to look for them, its all automated.Look at it as the difference between todays office and a 1800 factory

Yeah this bit of a biased video,here in Ireland nearly all the of chicken farms are free range, clean and spacious. I would presume this would be the case for other nations. plus People taday are buying more and more free range and organic chicken thus raiseing finacial prosperity in free range farms and encouraging more farmers into free range managment

I'm not like an animal rights advocate or anything, I eat meat and I like it, but this seems so necessary and excessive. First off, what kind of people take up jobs like these? It seems like the kind of activity that creates serial killers. I'm sure they could kill them more humanely. I understand it's due mainly to demand since society is growing more and more fatass every day (at least American society is). It's just really messed up.

Just because we eat pigs, cows, and chickens doesn't make the treatment of them right. At the very least, the farmers could kill them humanly and let them grow naturally instead of mindlessly torturing them. I like chicken and beef just as must as the next person but I don't revel in the thought of how they're killed for our pleasure and neither should anyone else.

actually they arent genetically mutated they are often bred to be large over a period of time and are cross bred and they arent fed antibiotics for rapid growth they are fed feed and the antibiotics are so they wont get sick and die when they are chicks dumb fucking man

My grandfather runs a chicken farm and they don't look like this. Each chicken has a fairly large cage and it's droppings fall into a pool underneath that goes into a seperate building. Egg farming needs to be done in cages because it lets the egg go without being trampled on or pecked at by other chickens, and the farmer doesn't have to look for them, its all automated.Look at it as the difference between todays office and a 1800 factory
