I saw Michael Jackson with the Jackson 5 when I was 14. He was and always will be one of the artists of our time. Stevie is also one of my favorites along with Marvin Gay.
I can honestly say I didn't know Stevie Wonder sung this song. I heard Tachina Arnold and Tyrese sing this on Martin. My dad have this album I have to go back and look at this CD again.
@Kzzori I'm not a teenager anymore, but recently turned 20, so not far off. I'm a fan of old school hip hop, not the wack stuff. My love for sample-based hip hop production led me to artists such as Stevie Wonder a few years back
@Kzzori I'm 21. My dad use to bump Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, and Michael Jackson nonstop in the car ever since I was brought home from the emergency room after birth. I took these artists for granted because I heard them all the time, but now that I'm older I'm revisiting them. I have a great appreciation for these artists. Music like this will never be made again, but that's alright because this music is timeless.
Saw Stevie in '85 with jazz drumming legend Billy Cobham opening at the Valley Forge Music Fair. In the round!
Probably the best show (both acts - Cobham was amazing!) I've ever seen.
Being 18 and drinking grain and punch and smoking shitty, seedy, dry Mexican weed... Leaning, in the parking lot, on my buddy's soon-to-be-dead Datsun...
hard to describe how this great man has influenced my musical passion. i grew up on innervisions, first finale, talking book and ofcourse his greatest triumph, songs in the key of life. i go back time after time, year after year and never tire of his beautiful music. god bless you Stevie.
Tuck & Patti do a great rendition of this song, in my opinion. Stevie's a legend in his own time as I see it, a man with rare vision :-D (that's probably been said before about him, before me haha)
First time I heard this song was from "Martin", and Tichina Arnold/Tyrese sung this onstage. I always wanted to know who originally sung this beauty, and I came upon this genius. Outstanding. :)
Cherish the love. This song teaches these values. We have so many challenges now. We have to center, calm, and share the love. No matter what personality challenges we have with others, each is precious. (The human ones I mean.)
My son was born to this album. I played it throughout labor. I wanted his first sounds to be peaceful, loving, and meaning full. And it was all those and more.

This is probably one of the most significantly relevant musical recordings, in the history of our entire species! Period!

@mjjcng8958 I agree with your Donny comment. Not a music expert, but I'll bet Donny used these chords quite a bit. And I wouldn't be surprised if he and Stevie DID get together on record at least once. Got to open the vault and dig into the archives.
people responding to my post made me come back one good time for another listen. Knowing how it ends, I can feel myself getting wound up as it approaches. Sometimes I don't feel like I have what it takes to stay here, like I can't make it in this world. But always somewhere, there is Stevie. It's like he knew the deep suffering of humanity and he sang and played it away effortlessly and humbly. That ending comes around and somehow I feel fortified, saved, like I can go on. Saint Stevie!
the magic of stevie is that his music never ever get old....his sons alway sound fresh like the first time....and to me that is the definition of magic
