@AndreaChenier1977 chi conosce del monaco sa che alcune difetti sono più scelte stilistche!Qui come nell'ultima parte della sua carriera prendono piede alcuni difetti come quelli citati da te!A me comunque fa impressione come si arrivato ad avere una tale integrità vocale nonostante abbia cantato tantissimo,dato tantissimo e nonostante l'età!Magari un cantante contemporaneo potesse cantare con la sua potenza per così tanti anni!Grazie Mario!

Del Monaco rende un capolavoro anche un pezzo la cui Musica è certamente discutibile.
Non ancora, sto finendo di scaricare quelli del Venerdì Santo...appena pronti ti farò sapere senz'altro, comunque è vero che il fatto che la virilità e la potenza che aveva Mario non sono replicabili....ma la somiglianza delle nostre voci è veramente impressionante!!!

Yes, he is a legend.. and I have posted my admiration all over Youtube, but honestly in the beginning he is awful here. the ONLY thing he has going for him is his raw material.. for the rest he is barking out a religious piece.. and this is from someone who really loves him.. really.. his voice preserved amazingly, his last performances are stupendous, but this one is off the charts sloppy

I like del Monaco a LOT, but not in this song. I have heard Jussi Björlig singing this song much better. Gigli is also much better in this song.
