  • This is unsettling. Every now and then a sinister-looking Peter Serafinowicz pops up on the screen for a milisecond. Am I being conditioned for something?

  • 5:38 Must Have Been Durring WWII

  • 5:48 They Should Have Played The Price Is Right Lose Horn.

  • 5:38 Epic Fail!!!

  • The "I'm going to kill myself" song always raises a laugh. It's very accurate too. Scarily so.

  • Entre el 2:44 y 2:45 Brian Butterfield

  • God bring peter serafanowicz back to bbc for another series for christs sake instead of greenlighting every piece of shit show that unfunny git will mellor is in.

  • telegram an aquaintance. lol

  • omg when the air raid siren went off, I couldn't control myself :')

  • lol... Why the hell isn't Serafinowicz on TV more often instead of bloody Lucas/Walliams?

  • Who wants to be a 2,350 american currency-aire in 2009 currency!

  • Perry Roger's is amazing.

  • I want Perry Roger's greatest hits.

  • "I'll kill myself, I'll kill myself, by bleeding on her doorstep". I would so buy that single!

  • Peter looking alot like Anthony Hopkins there =p.

  • I never expected that coming

  • "The next question is for a shilling"

  • "you might want to invest in a thinking cap"

i laughed so much at that :')

  • This is like well mingin blad. I was in the RAF then, yeah? It was like real dangerous and this and that. There was like Nazis shootin and that. Not like these batty boys in the studio winnin real serious cash.

    They is right crap yeah?

  • hehe I prefer this to the real one

  • more,, plz i want more....so funny

  • I felt like i was watching one of my dreams then. That was great! I loved the song :)

  • oh. i'll kill myself by perry rogers! its one of my favorite songs. lol

  • 1940?

The Capital of France was Vichy. Paris was german.

  • This is so good. Such an awesome parody. Serafiownicz is so subtle.

  • The character of Alf is rather endearing. It shows a true skill that amongst the comedy and such a short amount of time for a sketch you can be made to empathise with a character. Rather stark at the end there too.

    Peter is a real talent.

  • @mangahead21 the moment he says "cleverest person my street" with such pride is touching, and well observed. The sketch not only highlights the banality of Millionaire, but also comments on the class system in a subtle way. And it has a harp - double points.

  • was 100 pounds the same as a million back then? lol

  • No, it would be over about £2,800 in todays money. According to The National Archives currency converter.

  • hahaha. wot a song

  • They have to bring him back to t.v. for another series this show was hilarious.

  • Hilarious!

  • 'I'm going to kill myself if she says goodbye'

  • Silly Town, the very thought of it!

  • he he

  • @OneAndForAll you forgot the ha ha

  • @OneAndForAll why the fuck are repeating a random line from the vid....we heard what was said....u retarded barrel of monkey spunk

  • @ihussain81 Why do you care?

  • @ihussain81 Its not a random line, I say that all the time

  • @OneAndForAll fair enough. didnt mean to be that harsh

  • Who's nat?

  • Anyone see Brian Butterfield at 2:47?

  • Comment removed

  • Scary stuff there..

  • @CaleySaints90 yes but that is not as weird as you might think. This video is actually two clips spliced together. On the DVD, they are separated by a number of other sketches, amongst which are one of Brian Butterfield. When the uploader edited this, they managed to get a snippet of the previous sketch at 2:47.

  • @CaleySaints90 yes indeed a frame or two

  • @CaleySaints90 Yeh it must have been in 2 parts in the same show i think.

  • Stewie's voice is based on Noel Coward.

  • the kill myself song it hilarious!!

  • Jolly good show!

  • "Silly town is not a real town, that was just our little joke."

    *polite laughter*

"Silly town, the very thought of it!"

  • great stuff.kept it at the right level.not laugh out loud but well made.

  • brian butterfields face flashes at2 mins 47 seconds. why?

  • Oh yes XD

  • I think this sketch was drawn out in parts across an episode, so the flashed face was the start of the next sketch before the clip was cut.

Or maybe not, I don't know.

  • Your right, it was. I really liked this episode.

  • I didn't think it was funny, though rather brilliant.

  • telegram style is epic :)

    Love those guys !

  • looks like the actor who played hannibal lecture

  • Are you sure?

    Are you quite sure?

    Are you very Sure?

    rofl

  • that was so good , awh i really wanted him to win the 100 pounds :(

  • Looks like Hannibal Lector

  • Do you perhaps have an inkling?

    brilliant

  • Cleverest man in my streat, sir!

    The end is just hilarious!

  • you clearly arent the cleverest man on your street, you can't even spell street

  • Sorry dear, being I a Spanish speaker who was writing in haste, I think you can forgive such a stupid mistake, can't you?

And I'm more than sure that I'm not the cleverest man on my STREET (now you like it better?), simply because I'm a woman.

  • Oh, silly.

    :-)

  • 'Are you quite sure?'

  • I like how Butterfields face pops up randomly!

    Lmao!

    Tellegram an aquentence!

    lol!

    For tuppence...

  • i love english typicall jokes:))

    this is great-thanks:)

  • Drags on but is quite funny

  • so this drags but powerlevelling runescape is your idea of a good fun?

  • looks like stewie

  • im going to kill myself if she says goodbye.....

  • this is brilliant

  • Who the fuck are you-Barry Norman?

  • i love the "thinking cap joke" at 1:43

  • I have a question: Why did the BBC put their logo on their equipment when, until September 22nd 1955, they were the only TV station in the UK?

  • The same reason NASA write on their rockets. :-]

  • but . . . NASA aren't the only space organization in the world so they have a reason for putting "NASA" on the side of their rockets.

I was saying . . . until september 22nd 1955, the BBC were the only TV statiuon in the UK so why put "BBC" on the side of their equipment?

  • Similarly, the BBC wasn't the only broadcasting organisation in the world. They were receiving live broadcasts from Europe since the early 50's, America in 1962, and pre-record programmes probably before that.

Quite aside from that, it raises brand awareness, of course. And they already had all that branding on their radio equipment, so they didn't want the TV stuff feeling left out :P

  • why does butterfield flash up at 2'46?!

  • lol its meant to be an advert but the person who made this must have cut it off a bit late...might i suggest you invest in a thinking cap lol

  • very good!

  • very good!

  • very good!

  • for tuppence lololllolololol

  • The singer is the icing on the cake. It's like an over-the-top emo song transposed to the 1940s!

  • The ending would make sense if there was actually television during the war :P

  • Indeed a simply thrashing good nights television

  • Best writing in a sketch show in a long time. Beats most of Saturday Night Live for the past 15 years and beats most of In Living Color, and pretty much blows The Ben Stiller Show out of the water.

  • Indeed Sir, thou art absolutely right:-)

  • If you like this, try watching Mitchell and Webb stuff (did the UK version of the pc vs mac ads).

  • top hole, what?

  • Curse you Hitler! I was enjoying that

  • The funniest thing on TV for many years. This is the best!

  • hahahaha hilarious

  • i luv it!!!!!!!!!!!

    so funny, hes the best

  • Better than anything else on the series so far.

  • "Indeed."
