This is unsettling. Every now and then a sinister-looking Peter Serafinowicz pops up on the screen for a milisecond. Am I being conditioned for something?
God bring peter serafanowicz back to bbc for another series for christs sake instead of greenlighting every piece of shit show that unfunny git will mellor is in.
This is like well mingin blad. I was in the RAF then, yeah? It was like real dangerous and this and that. There was like Nazis shootin and that. Not like these batty boys in the studio winnin real serious cash.

The character of Alf is rather endearing. It shows a true skill that amongst the comedy and such a short amount of time for a sketch you can be made to empathise with a character. Rather stark at the end there too.
@mangahead21 the moment he says "cleverest person my street" with such pride is touching, and well observed. The sketch not only highlights the banality of Millionaire, but also comments on the class system in a subtle way. And it has a harp - double points.
@CaleySaints90 yes but that is not as weird as you might think. This video is actually two clips spliced together. On the DVD, they are separated by a number of other sketches, amongst which are one of Brian Butterfield. When the uploader edited this, they managed to get a snippet of the previous sketch at 2:47.

That actually kind of killed it for me, because I know that there were no television broadcasts in Britain during the war. I'm not saying that makes it not funny, just killed it for me.
Dudes, as much as I love Nat, I still think you should shut the hell up and not spam this video with "nat" , "omg nat" and "haha, nat". Like... sheesh, people.
Similarly, the BBC wasn't the only broadcasting organisation in the world. They were receiving live broadcasts from Europe since the early 50's, America in 1962, and pre-record programmes probably before that.
Quite aside from that, it raises brand awareness, of course. And they already had all that branding on their radio equipment, so they didn't want the TV stuff feeling left out :P
Best writing in a sketch show in a long time. Beats most of Saturday Night Live for the past 15 years and beats most of In Living Color, and pretty much blows The Ben Stiller Show out of the water.
This is unsettling. Every now and then a sinister-looking Peter Serafinowicz pops up on the screen for a milisecond. Am I being conditioned for something?

I have a question: Why did the BBC put their logo on their equipment when, until September 22nd 1955, they were the only TV station in the UK?
AidanLunn 3 years ago
The same reason NASA write on their rockets. :-]
Jakeway 3 years ago
but . . . NASA aren't the only space organization in the world so they have a reason for putting "NASA" on the side of their rockets.
I was saying . . . until september 22nd 1955, the BBC were the only TV statiuon in the UK so why put "BBC" on the side of their equipment?
