Like the credits, you can't fail in practice mode. Plus you can slow the song down if you want to work on certain spots.

practice. my forearms are huge from this game which is sad but true because of the strumming and quick movement of tendons in the fingers to hit them all. I did the custom guitar hero stuff with dragonforce songs and after strumming so much I got used to it.
