  • esta re buena la canción ^^

  • I absolutly love this song and your voice is so amazing.

  • Do u have the music for sheet?

  • You have a good voice. Kind of reminds me of Billy Joel. Nicely done.

  • wow good job :)

  • i think this is amazing. you have such a beautiful voice! i wish i could get a guy to sing for me like that. talk about romantic! :) have you been playing long?

  • Obviously he made it fast on purpose. A cover is supposed to be different than the original song, otherwise there is not point in making a cover...

    Great Job, I like it!

  • too fast!

  • dont cry ...mily pliss, gracias por averme conseguido lo que tanto queria.

  • love this...you are so talented...

  • AMAZING

  • U KICK ASS DUDE!

  • Try slowing the vocals down a little bit. When Jakob Dylan does it you can tell he's mellow and in the moment. Nice touch with the piano though. Great work. Definitely favorited.

  • Thanks, followme. I sped it up and made it more urgent on purpose. I obviously loved the original version, but with lyrics like:

Hey, come on try a little

    Nothing is forever

There's got to be something better than

    In the middle

    and:

  • This place is always such a mess

Sometimes I think I'd like to watch it burn

I'm so alone, and I feel just like somebody else

    Man, I ain't changed, but I know I ain't the same

But somewhere here in between the city walls of dyin' dreams

I think her death it must be killin' me

  • The song NEEDS to be more urgent. I feel it's about a guy looking back at his life and this girl he's lost and how he's been stuck in this place he hates. I always saw this song as the first real impetus of forward motion, his first declaration of "I NEED to get out of here and move on." So that's why I sped it up.

The original song has a nice mellow groove to it, but I think that goes against the nature of the lyric. It could have been the producer that did it, to make it more "poppy."

  • The same thing happened to Matchbox 20's 3AM. The lyric is broken and sad, but the album version is very upbeat and poppy. But if you dig around for Rob Thomas' acoustic version of the song, it's slow & heartbreaking and beautiful. Sometimes the recording industry gets in the way of art to make sure they sell more songs. =/

But I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for listening. I have a few new videos to upload but things have been kind of hectic so it'll probably be a few more weeks.

  • Your cover's on my mp3 player phone dude...thats how good it is...in mytube faves as well! This sounds awesome on your piano and your voice is great.

  • haha Wow scorpion, thanks, man. haha Glad you like it. :-)

  • Hey all, sorry I haven't gotten time to make a "how to" video as to how to play it. Basically I'm just playing the chord progression which is: G, D, F#, b for the verse and: G, D, e, A. The bridge is just G to F#. (You can find the chord progressions to most songs for free online. Once I know the chord progression I just improvise off the chords, but as long as you know the basics, you should have no problem playing it. :-) Thanks again all! :-)

  • so what notes are you playing :P

or can you tell me what key you used?

    nice job.

  • i used to play piano 2...but know i regret i dont od it any more...u look cute :)

  • Oops! My mistake. "Rodriguez"... yeah. From the 51st state, huh? Just kidding!

  • Haha Thanks a lot guys. And DT, I'm Puerto Rican. ;-)

  • WOW ! Very good... that was awesome! Didn't expect it to come from a white guy. Maybe the "Hey, Hey, Hey" part reminded me of Outcast singing this song (if ever they did one). You've got talent - go to Hollywood or Vegas.

    (ps: I'm not a racist)

  • brilliant mate, seriously the best cover of this great song and it's done on the piano with different melody on the vocals which works great. I cant believe all the guitar covers of this are nothing on yours. Best cover on youtube! Kudos

  • Wow, great job bro! You put a new feel on the song!

  • So this is quite amazing.

    bravo :D

  • this is kinda fun. I'm singing along with your version, as Jakob Dylan did originally and it feels like we're harmonizing. it's fun. Props on performing on piano=D

  • Thanks, hon. I'm glad you liked it. ;-)

  • omg. i loved it. esp that its with the piano and not a guitar like most people did it on. i've always wanted to learn the piano =/. keep up the good job.

  • I thought Jakob Dylan's monotone delivery in the original song was a waste of great lyrics because the song is about struggling with death and wanting more and the way he sang it he sounds defeated and dead already. There's no raging against his current situation in the original and it's something that you put into your version of it, it feels like you're trying to break free of being stuck "in the middle." Keep it up, Walter.

  • ;D nice!

  • very nice bro i like the hey hey hey. i will be posting my own soon with my band so check it out like in 1 week. keep it up bro

  • i love it
