The wonderful classical thespian Steve Buscemi almost steals the whole movie from Nicholas Cage with his simultaneously unsettling and gentle performance as Garland Greene. I too wept at the achingly beautiful scene where his character takes on a metamorphosis, and his wonderfully emotive eyes take us through all the evil he had committed to a warm safe place he'd hide, praying for the thunder and rain to quietly pass him by. You see the child in that seen was Greenes Sweet Child of MIne.
