Thanks for posting. I've been listening to nothing but ER for the past week. There are some great songs that weren't singles - Long Gone, Sweet Janine, Could you love a poor boy, I Just Got To Have You, Sure Thing, Jewelry Store, etc....and that's just from the 1st 3 albums.
If you miss this great country music from the pass check out Gene Watson's new album he is still alive and sounds better than ever. R.I.P. Eddie Rabbitt
he was very concious about his health; and he cared alot about his fans and family (losing a son at an early early age) he did NOT smoke; just because u die of lung cancer does not mean you smoke! get educated!!!! (what causes cancer? everything!!) I KNOW, cuz I knew him......RIP EDDIE>>>>
You are ignorant (anzutealover) YOU dont know him obviously - I knew him personally for many years 1) he did not smoke 2)did not do drugs Yes, he did die from lung cancer, but that DOES NOT mean the obvious that you're jumping to; not true. 2nd hand smoke-yes, but that still does not mean 100% of his death
Eddie smoked if you listen to the old songs and life on the road there are only a couple of things to do you drink and smoke and you miss your family.
I miss Eddie... I wish I had the chance to meet him and tell him how he made my childhood brighter through his music. When you have CP or other disabilities people tend to look down on you.. Msic like this is my comfort zone... I LOVE YOU EDDIE... I have a friend that looks like him and he doesn't believe me.. Everyone has a twin and Thank God my friend Dave looks like him... Eddie will never be forgotten...
Excellent thoughts and comments about living with a disability. I too have on being diagnosed with MD, muscular dystrophy at age 16 but that has not stopped me from living life to the fullest.
Do NOT let others down, buddy. Hang in there and fight.
Something else of note is the excellence of this back up band! GreAt Drummer! ...In particular, the gifted singing of the BASS PLAYER! He demonstrates his amazing singing ability on both of these live videos..This guy is an incredible vocalist/bass player! Thats no doubt why Eddie used him on his shows who knows maybe played he also played on his recorded tracks? This guy really has my respect being a bass player myself. ANYONE KNOW THE BASS PLAYERS NAME?
I loved the song "You and I", with Crystal Gayle. Also, "Step by Step" was a good one. His best song ever, IMHO, is "Driving My Life Away", and his close, second best song is "I Love A Rainy Night." He may be gone, but his songs live forever!
I remember country artists Eddie Rabbit, TG Sheppard, Steve Wariner, Alabama, The Oak Ridge Boys, Barbara Mandrell, and The Kendalls back in the 80's. We know what happened to Eddie. Are those other artists i mentioned around anymore? Making music AT ALL?
Some may be out there but, we are all getting older and so are they! Many new artists have taken over the spotlight now.Several of the artists you mentioned have hits that will live on forever I hope! TG Sheppard is another great one Remember his tune "I loved em everyone:? I used to sing that song every weekend should start doing it again. Hard to say where they all are today. A few may be gone now. Here's to Ray Price "For the good times" Best Wishes, Lynn
well after watching the ACM awards Sunday night, we saw Randy Owen, vocalist of Alabama. I guess i'll search around online for anyone else i mentioned to see if they're still making music. I loved the song "I loved em everyone" by TG. Also, "There's Only One You" is another good one from TG.
We still do Eddie's songs in our weekend band and people love em! He was a way cool performer and a great artist..He had Trememdous delivery! He was a very chrismatic performer. Such a loss this man died so young..Never a smoker and yet long cancer was his fate according to accounts I have read..Eddie will always be remembered!
I saw Eddie THREE times....he was awesome! The absolute best. Just wondering why hardly any of his songs are available for downloading. I'd love to get ahold of some of his old songs....not just the popular ones! Anyone know where I could get them?
What a GREAT video this is!!! I just can't get enough of it. I think I have watched it 100 times since you posted it. Love to hear Eddie talk as well as sing! He had an amazing voice. I also love this beautiful western shirt and pant outfit he wore in this concert---he always looked so good in purple. Thank you again for posting it!
Eddie Rabbitt will forever be missed in the music world, and in my heart.
Eddie loved touring the county fairs. We were blessed to have seen him twice over the years and I got to shake his hand. His beautiful spirit lives on.

I think most non smokers get their lung cancer from the inhalation of secondary smoke. Eddie was a one of a kind performer and way talented!!
