  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

  • Im deaf and Im in shock!! Im impressed :DD Keep it up!!

  • are you sure you only had a year in college? I'm senior ASL major, with many years of interpreting experience and I have some classmates that aren't even close to as good as you! I'm IMPRESSED

  • Kudos!

  • WOW

  • You did an AMAZING JOB:-) You are AMAZING! Thank you for sharing:-)

  • Love love love it. Thank you

  • I felt the spirit of the song in your sign language. Bravo! Thanks for touching my heart.

  • You learned a lot in that one year then, damn.

  • 1 year??!! Really? You must hang around the deaf alot - your ASL seems better than just 1 year of study!

  • You did good for it being your first year. Keep up the good work!!

  • This was awesome!! Im in ASL 1, a sophomore in high school and understood everything! I really like how you didnt sign word for word, but told a story basically. Amazing!

  • this is by far the best asl music video Ive seen!

  • could you please post the gloss as a caption? I wanted to learn the signs and how you phrased it? cause I really want to do something similar for an example in my ASL class.

  • It's absolutely unbelievable that you have only taken a year of ASL! The majority of ASL I students would just sign a song word-for-word, but your conceptual accuracy is fantastic! Your hand shapes are so clear and your facial expressions are GREAT! I hope you're pursuing a career in interpreting!

  • wow it looks like you had tons of fun your facial expressions are priceless good job!

  • one year??????? WOW!!! you are amazing especially for one your of ASL!!!! usually first year can not do ASL like you are. wow!!!! i am amazed. good job!! btw i am Deaf.

  • You're so talented!! Please tell me you've seen StormFX.net (Bjorn Storm), who also does what you do. Maybe you could sign something collaboratively? Also I'm sure you're familiar with Sean Forbes & DPAN. What's an update on your progress in ASL? *(From a Deaf/hoh ASL teacher, DC area.)

  • You did a great job and you should do some more videos

  • Hey that's not bad for ur first time... you got my eyes glued on ur clip. At first time I watched, few signs I didn't quite put them together cuz of ur skin and not much of light. but at second attempt.. got it all.. love it. I had to rock it with ya.. :)

  • Keep up the good work!!! That was a beautiful interpretation!!

  • That was so moving!! im learning to sign and i hope that one day i can sign that good! :)

  • OH MY GOD!! YOU ARE AMAZING!!! Where did you learn your signs from!????

  • YOU'RE AMAZING. <3

  • u did a pretty good job 4 ur 1st try!

  • your good :)

  • You have serious natural signing abilities. Not everyone who learns to sign has that. There's a fluidity to your hand motions. Keep practicing and associating with deaf and you'll get the greatest ASL compliment, people won't know that you're hearing!

  • that was greeeat!

  • Nice job.

  • your pretty good just more practice but one of the best guy signing at beginning that I've seen keep up the good work !!!!

  • Excuse my ignorance, but I've seen quite a few comments and videos about the Deaf Community being upset with hearing ASL users for lack of fluency. I have considered learning ASL but am worried it will be offensive, which is the last thing I want to do. Can anyone explain ASL etiquette, for lack of a better term? And what is the upsetting part, so I know to be more self aware?

  • @FunnyThingActually I'm not deaf... but I would say that there are definitely people in the Deaf community that are offended by the attempts of the hearing. However, they're more inclined to have a problem with haughty hearing people that think they know a lot about ASL when they don't. As hearing people, we can never completely understand the Deaf culture. Most people will not fault you for trying in a humble and respectful manner. Try ASL! It's fun and you definitely won't regret it!

  • Nice work! Props to you, AND your GBC instructors :-)

  • @paxman4 For sure, my instuctors at GBC are absolutely fantastic!!! Thanks so much :D

  • ooo i love how you sign

  • Gosh... I'm in my second year and I'm not nearly that creative or good at signing in general

  • Wow. Normally I don't give props to hearing people who attempt to incorporate their rudimentary ASL skills into music which can be quite static to my eyes, but you... unfuckin'believable! You blew my socks off and that *IS* a compliment from a Deaf ASL user like me. All the props to you! I'm going to subscribe you and looking forward to many more ASL videos of you and your amazin' signs.

  • YOU WERE AWESOME!!!! THIS IS MY SECOND ASL COURSE AND I HAVE TO PREPARE A SONG I HOPE TO BE AS GOOD AS YOU WERE> THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO KEEP THEM COMING>>>

  • Whoa! I am very impressed by your signing skills after only a year of learning! All I have to say to you is... KEEP ON ROCKING and SIGNING songs! You'll be the next ewitterbog..... You rock!

  • wow, I don´t know ASL, but I think it´s really good! I mean, I´m studing sign language in my coutry, Spanish Sign Language, it´s very different, but you´re very expresive, and I think it´s really good, you can make me understand a little bit of ASL!! :D

  • wow! love your work!

  • YEAAA! ASL(:

  • This video is amazing! wondering how you glossed it though?? i wanted to do this song for a sign project but im having alot of trouble glossing it.

  • Amazing!!1 ::D I am an ASL interpreter And that was AWESOME!!! ::D Keep it up!

  • *HANDS IN AIR* AMAZING! PLEASE DONT STOP!!!!

  • this. is. amazing. seriously. The fact that it wasn't english and PURE asl is what made me love this!! the listing you use is amazing. my favorite

  • I can't believe this is you signing after only a year of classes!!!! You are amazing! I have been taking asl classes for awhile now and I still don't feel like I can do this. There are a lot of people that I know who have been taking asl longer than you and still can't do this.... So congrats! You really impressed me.

  • SING SIGN IT BROTHER AMAZING ROCK ON \m/ \m/!

  • wow, I am really impressed, gave me goosebumbs!! super great job!! Where do you go to learn ASL? I want to learn there!

  • @rofan21 haha, Thanks very much dude! I live in the Toronto area and I went to George Brown College to learn ASL. So if you decide to come up to Canada, go to GBC, lol :P

  • Only one year of ASL?! You must be a natural. Keep it up!

  • AMAZING!!!! I love your signing !!!!

  • i love your facial expressions!! your amazing :)) thanks for sharing!!

  • I loved this, it was amazing! <3

  • I love your passion and it inspires me!! Thanks!!!

  • Really Good! Great facial expressions!

  • This is amazing! Awsome Job Barry! from cliffy! <3

  • @KeithsRose Hey, Thanks man!!! Long time no chat!!!! :)

  • Very funny signing! I laughed at the interpretation and very good, clear convey meaning! Also, facial expression great. :)

  • respect.

  • im learning ASL to and you are doing a really good job keep it up

  • really good!!! what made you want to go into ASL?? i'm hard of hearing myself.. so yea..

  • I agree with everyone who has commented before me. You're interpretation is awesome! I love that you have so much emotion, and that you move to the beat. It definitely doesn't look like you've only been taking sign for a year. Amazing! I hope to see more from you! :D

  • Hey, Nice job to be honest you did better than i actually saw on most of the videos so yeah... i can like webcam wid you and teach you more of asl because my whole family is deaf and myself and i is hard of hearing and i go to a deaf school soo i think i can help improving your signing

  • that was great!!!!!! really amazing!!

  • @purplemango8484 LOL haha xD

  • i love watching this video. great job. very good facials. one year of asl?? wow very good im on my third year and stuggle to learn this song haha but good job keep going!!! LOVE ITT!!!

  • Thumbs up for ASL

  • love love love

  • this is MAGNIFICENT! I'm going on my third yr and i can say not many come out of their first yr as skilled as u. that is those who have little to no connection to the deaf community to begin with. u should be very proud, put up many more videos and become an interpreter. I'm looking forward to what else i might see from u :)

  • your first year?! im about to go complain to my asl teachers.!! lol.. very nice tho!

  • @julialeepaz haha, please don't complain to your teachers. I beg of you, lol :P Thanks so much :)

  • @julialeepaz ditto!!!!!

  • WTF? A year of ASL? You should feel pretty damn good- that was so fluid. Please keep going! <3

  • very awesome man i wasn't anywhere near this in my first year this is your calling stick with it !!!!

  • That was awesome!

  • i usually like the females becuase they have alot of emotion and they do it better then most guys but ur real good i think ur the best one i seen so far at doing this song :)

  • Wow! You definitely don't sign like somebody who's been signing for just a year! =) Keep it up!

  • This is amazing! Holy cow! You are a real natural:)

  • You should be very proud of your work!! I have been teaching ASL for 22 years and performed songs with a traveling group of deaf and hearing actors. You would have been a great addition to our group - you are a natural!!!

  • Amazing job! You've got quite a talent. ASL interpretation of songs is as much about emotion as it is about the actual signs. You captured both aspects amazingly. Cheers!!!

  • i love the way you dance to the music!!

  • Unbelievable skills! Great job!

  • Wow! I really enjoyed watching this video. Keep up the good work! You are amazing for a year of ASL! Let me tell you some students in my class now couldn't even do that and its our 3rd year!

  • You did amazing! I'm in my second year of ASL and don't think I could even compare. Do more I will definitely be watching. You are great!

  • well done!!! :) That was great!!

    Keep it up!

  • you did an awesome job, bro.

  • You are so amazing! I'm 15, and I am learning ASL, and I don't think that I'm ever going to be able to sing as fast and good as you! xD Good work. (:

  • I absolutely LOVE this video! Your interpretation is so great. Also, I love your sign for "love scar." Fantastic.

  • You're amazing.

  • aha i love your facial expressions :)

  • You're... you're so good... dayam... I wanna be like you...

  • Only one year of ASL? Seriously? That is ridiculously impressive. You *must* be very involved with the Deaf community, that's the only explanation, lol. I started taking classes nearly 7 years ago, have been with my fiance who is Deaf for 5 1/2 years, and I didn't fully understand how important it is to look for the *meaning* rather than the *words* when interpreting something until I joined my IPP. So bravo, and keep it up! :-)

  • I love your facial expressions and your signs are very well done! *claps*

  • agree with comment about you being great, specially after only one yr of ASL wow, i bet you are involved in the Deaf community =) congrats, keep it up

  • omigosh I almost wow that was amazing :) <3

  • i think you are doing very well! i enjoyed your version out of all i have seen keep up the great work!

  • Amazing !

  • very asl ! love it ! ;D

  • This is BY FAR the best asl interpretation I've seen of Rolling in the Deep. There's some pretty good ones out there, but this one is THE BEST. Nice work! :)

  • I LOVE WATCHING YOU DO THIS<3333

  • Good job!! Very animated. I know a little bit of asl, but you look very experienced. Only one year? Wow! Keep it up. That was fun to watch. :-)

  • Ohh!!! That's really really good. I'm a colombian sign language interpreter and I like what you've done. Congrats!!! Keep on it!!!! ;)

  • "One of my first attempts?" Rubbish. This is too good for a first attempt! Bravo.

  • Very beautiful. I love her music. You signed it well.

  • This was soo much fun to watch. I'm in my first year of ASL, and while I couldn't understand all of it, your facial expressions really helped me feel it. You're amazing!

  • I don't understand a word of this but it looks pretty well done I have to say. Makes me sad they don't teach sign language in mainstream education over here in the UK.

  • That's so cool HAHA :D

  • One year of ASL? I know a lot of first year ASL students who cannot compare to you. You are AMAZING! I'm deaf and I understood everything you said! I'm very impressed! Keep up the great work! :)

  • @xoxcrazi1xox (blushing & grinning) Haha, thank you so much, truly! Glad you liked it!! I was worried a bit on if people could understand it or not. Boost of happiness, lol! Now I just gotta keep at it :P

  • @xoxcrazi1xox Amen! This guy is AMAZING for only having 1 year!

  • Stellar.

  • I love this Video (: You were so good ! && Now its time watch this 10000 times so I can get it ((:

  • Well I don't know anything about asl, but I think you were also signing the background lyrics too at the end. I'm not sure though, but I loved it regardless. You have a lot of emotion and facial expressions, which is crucial. For only doing this for 1 year, it looks like you've been doing it for a long time!

  • That was an awesome 'one of first attempts'! Truly a natural gift you have of the language. Keep up the great job!

  • Wow wow wow! U ,were, amazing! TERRIFIC interpret ion and explanation of the meaning and not just the English of the song, U interpreted and not transliterated, something a lot of hearing signers do which i detest! Wonderful ,wonderful,Wonderful job!

  • this is pretty awesome for a first attempt

  • wow...SMASHING INTERPRETATION! very interesting word combinations.

  • You look like Chris Tucker

  • Wow totally amazing!!

  • Holy cow... that was an amazing job!!! Thank you for posting this!

  • That was AWESOME!! Great Job!!!

  • Anyone ever told you that you look like Chris Tucker? Its so fun watching this :)

  • @ASLhoneybritches lol, do I really?! Haha, that's wicked-awesome! Thanks :P Oh, and thanks again SO so much for your earlier comment, greatly appreciated! I feel so special, haha!!! ;)

  • Loved this.. excellent job on making it your own and keeping the emotions connected to the song. I watch a few of my favorites on youtube and you are now on my list of favorites. You are added to kmklined and allyballybabe :)

  • I've seen the sign before but no one has ever been able to explain it. At 3:34/3:35, use use a sign on your face. it looks like experience but then it flips over and does the reverse in the same place on your cheek. PLEASE, what does that mean? I've seen multiple people use it in videos but can't get a good English word to associate with it. Wonderful again!

  • I really liked how you signed "the scars of your love.." perfect. !

  • This is great! id love to see your gloss for this song. im trying to learn how to do this song.

  • haha good job! I really enjoyed this!! I love how you added a twist to the song and made it your own! love it!!! :)

  • I like your interpretation. Looking forward to more songs! Good job!

  • Awesome, I look forward to more :) Looks like I've got some practicing to do
