while i went skiing i recorded some ski stuff in 1080 actually !!!!

BUT NOW i put the videos on my pc and the resolution is now 480x360 !!!

some ideas?! :( im desperate...

Hey, if you think this sound quality is bad. Try some other Cameras/Camcorders. When you look at them. This is pretty good.

@firestormcomputers 1080p also crops the picture a lot and is crap in any low light situation as you say 720 is better but still noisy as soon as the light fades a bit, great outdoors though.

Its 30fps in 1080p but it gives far better results if you drop it down to 720p and 60fps

The flips are hella cheesy n cheap plus they have internal meomry which means u can put it aye chip.

Actually its quite good, the image was very stable, the Flip HD only looks good when you hold it still, since it has no image stabilization whatsoever.

Yeah, have just ordered the Zi8 a couple of hours ago for £125 from Amazon.

Noticed on a few of their test videos that it had the same high pitched whistling noise as this Picsio but they have uploaded a firmware fix for this on the Kodak website.

Benefit also of the Zi8 is that it has an external mic ouput so I can always get a cheap mic which will be better than the built in one. Engadget and Gizmodo seem to rate it also.

Pray that your Zi8 is a non defective one! Kodak has a huge problem with a very large batch of defective sensors on some of the Zi8's. You will know it's defective if in low light when you switch to 720 than 720 60 fps, you will see faint vertical greenish or purple lines! They seem to disappear in good light or outside, when you switch to VGA quality or 1080 p. I say SEEM because if you look really well, you will notice the lines are STILL there.

Couldn't stand the Buzzing noise that was on all videos so took this back to the shop. MIght try the Flip Ultra HD instead. Any other recommendations?

It doesn't seem that bad to me. You can't really expect a perfect camera for that price. Plus, it's the only one available with image stabilisation.

The Kodak Zi6 is MUCH better than the Flip Ultra HD. But they recently released the new Zi8 pocket camcorder. It's an upgrade from the Zi6 by offering 1080p recording, image stabilization, and macro. It's a great camera in my opinion.
