guys here is a good tip 1. get a bowfishing bow. i have a fish hawk and its incredible. its designed for bowfishing so its really light. 2. get a gaff. works much better than the lip grip. the fish hawks cam design makes it the perfect bow for bowfishing.
I live in Texas and Bow Fish gar, I bank fish canals (not a boat owner) and I have found that a tub of chicken liver poured into a womans stocking tied to the bank somehow will draw them in. The strength of the current will determine how fast it works. This is also true for catfish, that's how I found out gar liked it to. Good luck.
Relax douchebag. IF it wasn't a legitimate sport, I suppose you'd have some ground to stand on, but you don't, so sit down and keep your nasty comments to yourself.
@moorfy2007 i have to say with the refraction of the water your shooting in to and just the sheer skill you need for it i have to say i think it is a sport
im guessing you've never bow fished flayer. so dont knock it until you try it. its much much tougher than just tossing a line and reeling in, plus its much more fun
This vid ROCKS! I have a portabote, love hunting and fishing but have never done them at the same time. I'm in MN, can I come with you guys? Seriously, nice vid.
Do you like that PSE Kingfisher bow? I shot a Fred Bear compound last year and it was really too strong so I bought a Kingfisher but I haven't got to try it out yet.
in short, i really like the king-fisher. 50 pound-pull on a recurve is really nice....good penetration-power that isn't tiring. i only have one gripe...the handle could be more hand-fitting. i just use a golf-glove and it seems to make the grip more comfortable. you can't beat the price or durability. you purchased well!!!!
Me, I catch and release commons - but I have a kingfisher too. Same gripe with the grip, I put on a short stabilizer and a sling. Don't know if that works with your style, but it helped me out. Hope to get into some gators someday, and use it for my wet weather stalker on deer.
hey nice vid. im just starting bowfishing and its a fun sport regardless if you eat them or just kill them its doing some good no matter what
