  • There is only one thing more amazing and it is how this drums are made

  • they are noway near KITARO

  • Man, I love taiko, but there is no way a compressed Youtube video played off two tiny PC speakers can ever do it justice!

  • @Spelonker Check out my new version with better sound (and longer) here: watch?v=Q9kzrrw6FVY

  • i got to get eddi van halen to join this drum guys

  • I love the part that goes badoom ba ba dom dom dom pa pa badom...

  • try to listen this by mar...na...another world....never seeing better drummers.

  • If they had/played cymbals...what size would they be?! I mean really

  • Now imagine an entire army of thousands of Samurai marching towards you. They would have drummers to strike fear into the enemies.

  • Got to see Japanese drummers in Disney World could have watch them for hours Thanks for posting.

  • I bet it takes some serious strength to do this, all these guys are ripped. I need to learn.

  • oh my god the cardio... and the arm workouts.... i'm impressed :D

  • This kind of drum artistry (cause it is, totally) must have been inspirational to one of the performances that "Stomp Out Loud" show (at least in their DVD) I'm thinking of the one where they use, I think they're socks with knots, to hammer at some drum barrels which are constantly being lightly sprayed by water.

  • holy hell, don't they get tired.

  • Bet rent in the next door apartment's cheap.

  • Amazing music to hear....GREAT Drummers to watch..How are this men learned to create music out of drums..FANTASTIC! please visit the Philippines and perform...

  • i dont really understand the attraction of this video but it was quite calming O:

  • CHARGEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • such a concert made me instantly totally completely happy for more than a week *

  • In my Opinion. Strongest drums are Turkish then Japanese. Especially the Davul.

  • I want to see a face off between these drums and Blue Man Group...

  • Who much costs the smallest of these drums ?

  • @MrKnifeandfork Roughly $1000 for small ones to $4000 for large ones.

  • the sound makes your heart beats faster (ready for action)

  • My Respect to Japan and they're Music From a Australian

  • Those are some big chop sticks.

  • Oh my Gosh!!!!!!!!!!! If this video doesnt make chills down your spine, nothing will! This is the most impressive display of Japanese Drums and done so well! No joke, this is the most excellent Ive heard. Bravo!

  • @Qodesh86 Thank you for your comment!

  • @Qodesh86 These guys are amazing!!! why are they playing in that place though? Bring em to america and they will make loads

  • @Qodesh86 it didnt......

  • I was waiting for the part where a drumstick flew out of someone's hand by drumming so hard but it never happened. These guys really are pros :)

  • I suddenly feel the urge to charge through a vast green field with naught but my katana to guide me.

    Ikuzo!!!

  • imagine if these guys were sushi chefs..... holy shit they'd be fast....

  • 2:36 LET ME IN!! LET ME IN!!

  • 9:50 what do they say ?

  • @ElFuroCrack its a war shout!

  • @ElFuroCrack Tsuoahh! think of it like a Kiai.

  • So this is what started the earthquake in march. Powerful.

  • native american drums have same power

  • Bravo! Bravo!

  • Fortissimi !!!

  • This is the kind of sound you can hear from a kilometer away or more. Hearing these taiko at city festivals, even with the tall buildings and traffic, it pulls you towards them, it's really primal. The sound is really incredible. You can feel it in your lungs and ribs even from a block away.

  • @WristCutGauze I'm actually feeling it right now even as I'm watching this.:O

  • Those sticks are so hypnotizing to watch them move... The group works well in sychronization.

  • Ich liebe diese Musik beim Aikidotraining und nach der medetation

  • why would anyone dislike this?

  • This looks like a really good exercise.

  • I wonder if these drums survived the Tsunami…hmm…

  • Is this how the Japanese learned to be ninjas? LOOK AT THE SPEED OF THEIR HANDS. xAx

  • Reminds me of the good 'ole days of PRIDEFC.

  • tht big drum is so big and the sound waves so low, tht the guy playing it can't hear what he is playing. he has to trust himself. Thats the power of taiko....

  • reminds me of nanking victory dance =)

  • 02:05 If u came to watch the big drum >.<!!!

  • @ShitQualityOwns Sure Did!

  • Wow... This is so cool. Japan is so cool. :) I love this.

  • @Qenjjy ha ha ha.....:-)

  • This is freaking awesome. Those drumsticks are musical insturments AND home protection devices! Rock on! I'd like to play THIS at top volume in my car and scare the hell out of the ghetto blasters around me....

  • Japanese Joey Jordson 2:05

  • i dare to ask what is the difference between this and Chinese Drums which were developed way earlier than this?

  • @TianyanGang Well, I dare ask the difference between this and the Native American War Drums developed WAAAAAAAYY after this, or even a school Marching Band's drums.

They're drums dude, nobody's going to sue each other over who developed drums first.

  • bravo

  • Look at all those arm muscles!

  • This is so metal >:3

  • i can fap way faster and harder than that

  • @iRAEPuFTW : it would fall off if you did !

  • now my 7.1 surround sound comes in play

  • @MasonGaming22 I would like to see you try. I live in Japan and it takes a lot of effort to make the correct sound and speed.they are not like ordinary drums, They have to be hit really hard. that's why they use such big sticks.

  • WOWO that guy surrounded by the drums did an AWESOME job!!

  • You have got to have some serious stamina to be able to perform on these drums.

  • Crazy stamina!

  • I'm Chinese but I love to watch Taiko so much.

  • This isn't just powerful drumming.....this is powerful medicine

  • Atlanta holds a Japan Fest every year. The drummers are always an outstanding performance.

  • Go hard totally

  • Whoa!! Japanese are super cool !!!!!!

  • where are they? wich country?

  • @lachter786

was taken in a schoolyard in Barcelona as part of the FORUM international exhibition program in July 2006

  • The art of taiko really is amazing. :3

  • I cant put words on expression when I first heard this drums in a festival called Bon Odori held in Malaysia..

the Koto Drummers were Shocking as well as Beautiful.

  • @adamdrummer101 5 minutes? I think much less...

  • I don't care if they're Martian drums, those babies are just freaking HUGE

  • Beautiful.... ;_;

  • WTF!!! how can anyone dislike this!!

  • Epic.

  • Hardcore!

  • ooooOOOOOOZZZZZZSSSSSSS UUUUUUAAAAAAAGGG!!!!!!

  • Music, artistry, athleticism - Awesome! Amazing, just amazing. I would love to see this live.

  • TAIKO!!!!

  • Love the Japanese

  • Geez, and i thought that high school band was crazy, imagine memorizing a performance on 3-5 drums each along with different types of hits ALONG with having to look cool and macho, not showing any struggle or sweat... @_@ watching this makes playing trumpet look easy, then again i guess they are to different types of instruments lol

  • I did Taiko on Sado Island, Japan a few weeks ago. The instructor was amazingly funny and crazy, perfect for the job. He was a complete goofball, but a master at Taiko nonetheless. He was 53 years old and he was screaming and jumping everywhere! :D Amazing experience.

  • 6:46 hmmmmm... x . x

  • I could do that with one hand ;o) LOL

How amazing are they ha, awesome. Thats what you call a drum

  • This raises my spirit

  • DRUM DRAMA!!!!!!!!!

  • Anyone knows of studio quality huge drums performance? :S

    Please link :S

  • @Ilamarea search for japanese drum crew Kodo. I guess you can buy their cds or songs online.

  • I love this

  • I loved the performance :). It really shows the amount of strength and discipline they must have to create such a wonderful sound. I really hope the children learned a lot from their experience. I would love to see this performance live. I think it would be a very powerful and meaningful experience for your mind and heart. Something you'll always remember.

  • @Ghrimvixon Ive seen it live once; at a holiday festivel at Fasion Island. I was just lucky. This doesn't do it justice. They had a mostly female team with a male 'backup' lead by a modern Samuri. You could feel it from the ground. I've never heard anything so intense. It shook my very core. Every single cell in my body could feel it. Not some flimsy new age meditation; but THUNDER that seemed to reach to heaven and tear open the sky. I think my viking ancestors...I think it changed me.

  • where can i get some suspenders like that?

  • At 7:00 very nice ^^ cool sound

  • Subarashii!!!!!!!

  • Chinese had these too. They were not always used to raise morale, but depending on the style of play they could change an army's tactic, attack, retreat, or hold

  • The large drums that are on the tall stand cost over $100,000.00 per drum and take about one (1) year to make.

  • @armjoint1 I believe those are the drums that take as long as 5 years just to dry out (once the basic shape is made) and can weigh up to 2 tons.

  • wish i had the speed, power and stamina in my arms to do that~

  • That is Powerful.

  • Fantastico!

  • Outstanding performance!!!!!!!! i know it must take tons of commitment and practice to learn to play like this. would love to see Taiko live too!

  • awesome!!! Geez those drum are so big I could hide in one for a week and sleep comfortably. the guys who built those sure knew what he was doing they have an awesome sound. These guys can play.

So yeah, gosh Japanese are Africans too. Just listen to the rhythm. I am telling you folks the world is one big family! So, why the heck is all the fussing about. Why not live together as one.

  • simply amazing :)

    I really like it !!

  • Anybody knows if they will give a concert in 2011 somewhere in Europe?

  • @kedarvideo Kodo is doing a world tour it's called Kodo: Heart Beat OR One Earth, I'm not sure which is now performing. Just search for Kodo schedule online (which is just as good and you can view them on line). Seeing them in person is much better than seeing them online. I've gone to a number of their performances, and they're awesome. They travel the world.

  • @kedarvideo today in Croatia! :)

  • AWESOME BEAT... I LOVE THIS STYLE, OF DRUMMING BEST... I HAVE SEEN SIMILAR LIVE, I WISH, I COULD, OF SEEN THIS LIVE.........

  • This is G-R-E-A-T. Memorizing (and peforming!!) 10 minutes of pure rhythm commands respect and admiration. Clearly, 5 guys here mixed up Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down.

  • 5:34 TO END GETS EPIC!!!!

  • These guys are real good. Where in Japan do they come from?

  • everything in the arms...

I tried once, I couldn't keep more than 3 minutes

  • I loved it, listened to it without headphones and i have a sub-woofer and 2 front speakers cranked up the volume and was blown away!!!! Beautiful it is. Thnx for uploading this in HD, @ 320Q could have been far worse. -_-
