  • WHAT IS THIS SHIT.

  • MANANMANHAMANA

  • Out of curiosity, were some of those dancing cheeses female? Some sounded female.

  • i never grew up with this, but i did grow up with shows similair to this, atleast with the nice humour and the great characters

(i'm born in the 90's, and i honestly don't know if this show ever aired in Sweden, 'cause i live there, saddly)

  • love muppets

  • I wondered why Clifford wasn't in the new Muppets Movie.

  • @whitebishop1 Because they wanted to pay homage to the original jim henson muppets.

  • clifford is my is my fave muppets

  • LOL The X-Flies

  • why the hell did clifford host this?

  • @dondandean Because Kermit is the Producer. and besides he's still having nightmares from the stress of being the host the FIRST time around. XD

  • Does Clifford remind anybody annoyingly of Jar Jar?

  • @SpencerDaFrog sort of, but at least hes smart and has a better personality.

  • I remember seeing some of this show. I didn't feel inspired to watch it simply because Kermit was not hosting it. Its just not a Muppet Show without him.

  • They really need to release this along with the Jim Henson hour

  • Gonzo: I've got an act that's gonna knock your socks off!

Clifford: Well put em on man!

    Gonzo: Your socks?

    Clifford: No, the act.

    XD

  • This was such a brilliant show! And it's too bad it was on the air for such a short time ... My mom recorded it on VHS tapes when it was on TV way back in the 90s and I watched the episodes all the time when I was growing up. I've recently rediscovered it; I'd forgotten how hilarious it was. :D I love The Muppet Show and I love Muppets Tonight ... I'm also hoping the Muppet movie coming out next month will be good. :)

  • @BrigidGH i saw a preivew for it today while taking my brothers to see puss in boots it looks funny

  • @ThePBandJLover So do I. Genius as always!! But I still think Kermit should have been the host.

  • thumbs up if google made you t come here for you childhood years!

  • The X-Flies! Lol!

  • miss these kinda shows

  • @musiclover77able- Your opinion. Don't decide things for other people.

  • Okay, That is your opinion. I personally find this funnier because I wasn't born when the Muppet show came out. I was 3 when I first watched this, and I can actually relate to the guest stars, who are STILL ALIVE. (most anyways) I understand the jokes better then joke from the 70's. I am a 90's kid, and always will be. My mum who was a 70's kid likes this better. So say it's not as good, slam it all you want, just stop complaining and shut up. I liked the innuendo in this. More grown up feel.

  • I can't wait fer this to come to DVD!

  • I remember recording this every week. I have the tape still. I was 6 at the time.

  • It may not be as good as the original, but the shows hits outnumber the misses

  • OK, can u upload the version with higher quality?

  • Horrible, not funny at all

The Muppet Show was infinitely better

  • ~sigh~ Memories I used to LOVE watching this My mom loved it too

  • they have muppets on pbs everyday.....its called sesame street....it's still running....lol

  • muppets tonight is much more brillant than the muppet show and it has celebrities that people love

  • Muppets Tonight is brilliant - even better than the original Muppet Show.

How about a DVD release pleeeez?

  • I feel like I'm five years old again! You never forget the shows you grew up on...

  • thanks for uploading this!

  • Oh wow!!! This use to be on BBC1!!!!

  • @RazorSlik I know right! Back in like 96/97! I used to watch it when i was a little kid :')

  • Steve Whitmire is a Great replacement for Jim ! and i hope if they are around in another 50 years...they find a great replacement in turn

  • Whats Clifford suppose to be? a Raisen mixed with a I don't know.... a fish tank sucker?

  • @tamkins777

    a catfish i reckon.

  • @tamkins777

I always thought he was a catfish.

  • if i read the cast of the Muppets right, it says that the guy who did Elmo has got Clifford

  • Why doesn't every TV show start like this 03:17

  • Comment removed

  • So is the show George Lopez inherited?

  • I loves me some Clifford!!! Luv dat man!

    Dat's me new boyfrien!!!!

  • I LOVED this show, my brother and I used to laugh SO much. Is the series available on DVD in the UK? xx

  • Well, it looks like the dancing cheese act just had a major meltdown, didn't it?

  • I am such a muppet fanatic I wish they would bring it all back

  • Now is this Steve Whitmire as Kermitt?

  • @Scorpio110186 yes. Jim Henson died in 1990 and this show is from 1996.

  • @Spongesponger Steve Whitmire doesn't do a bad job...

  • @Scorpio110186 uhhhh... Did I say that? I think Steve Whitmire does a great job.

  • @Spongesponger No lol...you didn't....but I've heard from alot of people that jim henson's characters sound completely off and what not since someone else took them over and I was disagreeing with them. I think Whitmire does an great job as well.

  • @Scorpio110186 I feel Steve Whitmire's done a great job. They kinda rushed him into his first Kermit appearance but then gave him lots of time to fine-tune and he's excellent. Note that Muppeteers age anyway, so even someone doing one voice the whole way through will sound different eventually; Frank Oz's voice has aged naturally so Miss Piggy and Yoda sound different lately than they did initially!

  • @LoreleiMission you're right...if i'm not mistaken frank oz left the jim henson company like in 2001 or 02 and eric jacobson took over his characters...he doesn't do a bad job either...but you're right, steve whitmire is an amazing talent

  • @LoreleiMission Oz doesn't do Miss Piggy anymore.

  • Dancing Cheese Hell Yeahs

  • when does it start

    oh about 30 seconds

    *thud*

  • this show was more written for adults than it was for familys.

  • Comment removed

  • @Nightmastercool97 If this show WAS written for adults, wouldn't it have more swearing and sex-related humor? (No offense to this show at all, this is just 100% hypothetical.)

  • @GameStation3 Aren't you implying that all adults are dumb morons? There is a different kind of mature humour, namely the one you need to have some intelligence for and do some thinking. The clever humour. The humour both kids can enjoy too while the adults get a parental bonus. That is real comedy

  • hd please

  • "What no show, Oh no thats terrible. Okaaaay saturday we have.....

    LMAO Gonzo is freakin hilarious.

  • Ha Ha Miss Piggy has her own applause track. LOL

  • I think part of what makes the muppets so great is that each and every one is completely unique! That and they don't have to argue with each other to make things interesting. For some reason these days people think that if you don't have any conflict between characters then it's boring. And then when they translate this to real life you get all these confrontational people... but, I digress. Muppets are awesome!

  • @lerasai Well said indeed. :)

  • Simple yet clever jokes and puns, such underrated humor which would still make for far better entertainment than a lot of contemporary shows, its that charm that only the Muppets could have on the air.

  • "as vous can plaaaainly seeee!" :)

  • I REMEMBER THIS!!!

  • Yeah Cliffords pretty cool, but who the hell is that muppet seen whistling with all the fat in his face???

  • never seen this show.

    thanks for uploading.

  • Thank u so much!!!!

  • Screw you guys, Clifford is DOPE! Sure he's no Kermit, but he does his thing

  • I've made a new upload of this episode in better quality.

  • Oh, I love that!

"So which one of you fellows are Andy and which one's Randy?"

Both: "Eh-- This job is too hard!!!"

  • Man...you guys are stupid...-.-

  • lol, clifford looks like lil jon

  • i used to loveeeeeeee this show so much thank the

    lord for youtube

  • clifford is a catfish

  • dancing cheeses xD

  • Clifford: When does it start?

Kermit: Oh in about 30 seconds!

    Clifford: I'll Call you back!

  • you forgot the fainting part, it was the kill

  • has Johnny Depp starred here?

  • This place is going to change television and make it a little something like this...*Scary Face guy pops up*!!!!!

Clifford is great in this one lol!

We are not cats we are dogs...oh look a fire hydrant! lol!

  • has Johnny Depp eber guest-starred here?

  • Yeah it's too bad they don't have this show on tv now, or any muppets on tv. I have loved this show since I was little. They don't make tv like they used to, and it's really quite sad actually.

  • I agree with you 100 percent

  • @Pam4Rob I got some news for The Muppets will be on WWE Monday Night RAW on Oct. 31.

  • @wave201988 - seriously? lol what the hell are they dong on monday night raw? lol thats so funny

  • I snorted when that monster thing came up at 3:23.

"I've got an act that will knock your socks off!"

    "Well, put them on!"

    "Your socks?"

    "The act."

  • The show could have used a stronger laugh track, too...I agree, it was Clifford who ruined it for me. :(

  • Clifford is the reason this show bombed. He's awful.

  • yup, idk why they didn't keep Kermit as the emcee

  • @nycboy3489 because they can.

  • NOW i finally know where this Jar Jar Bings Star Wars guy came from...

  • lol I remember watching this show every day after school. That was like probably 8 or 9 years ago. This show was awesome.

  • Not really as good as the original, but... oh well.

  • What year did this air? I remember watching this episode when I was little.

  • 1994

  • Clifford = Dustbuster

  • How do you have copies of this show?!?! Is it out on DVD?? Im trying to get my hands on at least the first season for a Christmas present... could you help me out?

  • It's not released on DVD yet...I think Disney said it was going to get to it after all of "The Muppet Show" would be released.

  • THANK YOU!! Good to know... I guess I can stop searching for it then :P

  • this is cool!!!!!

  • So THATS what Piggy has been doing.

  • MEGA!

  • I miss this show. It should come back.

  • ya, i agree

  • @cwlcubfreak2002 i agree

  • Eww. They're melted

  • Nephews?

What about "The 3 Little Pigs" on "Muppet Classic Theater"?

I never heard Miss Piggy's nephews are Andy and Randy!

  • Well, why shouldn't they be allowed to introduce new characters?

  • I LOVE François Fromage and the Dancing Cheeses!

  • Man I miss the Muppets. It'd be awesome if they began showing re-runs of the Jim Henson Hour, Dinosaurs or the Muppet Show.

Anyway this show seems awesome too, thanks for the upload ^ ^

  • i love the muppets tonight they should put it back on tv :D

  • I never caught any muppet program on tv ever. they never aired on any channel we had during any channel i was awake, or else I just spectacularly managed to miss them all.

  • I was practically a year old, my bro was just born when this showed. Thanks for bringing back the memories

  • 2:06 look to the right of Clifford. The character there appears to be Bert from Sesame Street! Any clarification?

  • speaking of clifford, wasn't he usually voiced by kevin clash in a Splinter-ish voice?

  • it looks like Bert. cool!

  • If you pause it at that moment it looks more like a sponge mop or something, Whatever it is its being carried by the guy infront of it.

  • this show is 1 memorable forever

  • i miss this show! I use to watch it all the time when i was little.

  • This wasn't as good as The Muppet Show but it was closer than the later muppet movies post Muppet Treasure Island

  • There's nothing like the Muppets...

  • @byranntherockstar Nope, not one thing

  • They used to show this on the Disney Channel, Why did it get cancelled?

  • This went from 1996-1998

  • omigosh i used to love this! what year did this come out?

  • Dunno but it seems to have dated more than The Muppet Show

  • I love this show!!! It was one of my favorites, I wish they would still show it.

  • I wish this show was still on. Does anyone know where I could purchase the video's? Would they come under:

    Muppets Tonight

    or

    The Muppets Show.

  • Everyone remembers that the first act on The Muppet Show was Mahna Mahna right? THE FIRST ACT! And it's still well-remembered.Just thought I'd remind you all... some people forget that the Muppets used to be famous for a reason.

  • Kevin Clash (Clifford) is a genius.

  • the show is great do you know if someday could be here in mexico jejeje

  • Does anyone else hear the Muppet Show theme in the beginning of the intro for this show? You can hear it before Clifford starts singing when Kermit is talking and when muppets are rushing into the theater. That is great, it is like paying tribute.

  • ABC was stupid to put this show on TGIF. They should have put it on late night. I believe that the older characters got shoved in the background and the newer characters got overexposed.

  • This show was ahead of its time.

  • my fave character is pepe

  • I wish they bring back the Muppet Show and Muppets Tonight with new guest stars.

  • @FishDemon00 Kermit would have to be the host again. Clifford is cool but he is not Kermit. I wonder what the name of a new variety show could be. That is the big question. The Muppet Show works for me though.

  • "I've got an act that's gonna knock your socks off!"

    "Well, put 'em on!"

    "Your socks?"

    "The. Act."

    Priceless.

  • That was a... different. The first time I have seen it. I can see why this never made it, without Kermit as host.... Give me the old Muppet Show any day. The Muppet's were not the same after Jim Henson past.

  • Very good, I have no idea why kermit was not the frontman here.

  • I did a bit of research (I looked up wiki), this was made well after Jim Hensen's death so if Jim was still alive at the time you would find that Kermit would of been the front man, Kermit was Jim's favourite muppet. Instead of getting a sound alike to do Kermit's voice I think Jim's son Brian should of done it he sounds more like his dad then the sound alike actor, Brian even looks like Jim too.

  • Jim's 'sound alike actor' is longtime Muppet performer Steve Whitmire. Jim said shortly before his death that he wanted Steve to stand in for him as Kermit if he was too busy. Brian doesn't really sound like Jim all that much in my opinion.

  • I'm with you PsycaselicShack- Brian Henson and his father don't sound that much alike at all.

Steve Whitmire has done a fantastic job as Kermit in the ... I think 18 years he's been the frog.

That being said. I still am kinda befuddled by the fact that Kermit wasn't frontman unless ABC/Disney just wanted to try something 'new' that really didn't work- not that Clifford/Kevin Clash aren't great but Muppets=Kermit leading, they just do.

  • The muppets rock

  • I used to watch this when i was little. it was my favorite show of all time. Jim Henson is the best!

  • thank you so much for putting this up. I love this episode! :D

  • This show is so awsome! BTW, which episode of muppets tonight did Gilbert Godfried star in?

  • I remember this on Disney Channel! The guest stars were pretty cool. I especially remember Coolio and the shrimp talking..and oh Gelbert Godfried.

  • wow i cannot believe they have this.

  • If you're talking about Clifford, he's crawfish.

  • Really? I always thought he was a human with a weird haircut. I guess it's pretty hard to tell what some of these Muppets are supposed to be!

  • Muppets Tonight Clifford Waldorf J.P Groose Kevin Clash Kermit The Frog Andy Pig Rizzo Beaker FooFoo George The Janitor Steve Whitmire Miss Piggy Animal Stagehand Frank Oz Gonzo The Great Randy Pig Dave Goelz David Hogsellhoff Elvis DR.Bunsen Honeydew Bill Barretta Statler A.Ligator Elvis Jerry Nelson Nigel The Director Elvis Brian Henson Spamila Henderson Leslie Carrara 1990s

  • We LOVED this in the UK it was on BBC One in a great slot. It was like having The Muppets Show back, only up to date and more (dare I say it) sophisticated.

  • same here, 7:00pm on friday nights i think it was. truely amazing

  • same here ive got it on video i love the show

  • So this is how Clifford started! Very cool. I wish the episodes were released on DVD!

  • I love Clifford! Roll on the DVDs, soon please!!!

  • Fantastic! I loved watching these shows when they were on. I was so excited that the muppets were back on the TV. Thanks for posting.

  • I sure miss this show. I will be buying the DVDs whenever they come out!!!

  • Can't you just picture Clifford sitting back listening to Marley and tonkin' some bud? I can!!!!!!

  • clifford is a jamaican catfish

  • I always thought he was a kind of dragon.

  • clifford shoulda got his own show YEARS ago. he is sooooo funny! youtube kermit the frog on arsenio hall, it is hilarious. kevin clash rox.

  • HAAAA!! I used to watch this ALL the time!! *hyper* BRIIIING IT BAAAACK!!!

  • I'll tell you why it got cancelled. ABC put it with TGIF which was a bad decision and I also believe that the characters were not balanced. They used more of the new characters than the old ones.

  • Why did it get cancelled anyway?

  • Do you have the DVD's and if so where did you get them, i've been looking for them for AGES!

  • The show hasn't been released on DVD yet. Brian Henson has said he hopes it will be after season 5 of The Muppet Show is out. 8-)

  • Muppets Tonight Clifford Waldorf Kevin Clash Kermit Rizzo Andy Beaker Steve Whitmire Gonzo Randy Dr. HoneyDew Dave Goelz Staler Bird Annoucer Jerry Nelson Spamila Henderson Leslie Carrara David Hoggsiholf Bill Barretta Miss Piggy Animal Frank Oz Nigel Brian Henson 1990s

  • clifford is so awsome best muppet ifya ask me

  • I always thought Clifford was just a pot smoking Jamaican guy.

  • Amazing. How many here knew that Clifford was a catfish? Cuz I didn't =^.^=
