Thats a great one too. Needle and the damage done makes me think of a Beatle favorite too...Happiness is a Warm Gun. I had a few people in my young life go to drugs too. I remember one in particular who died of a heroin overdose. I was only about 15 and my friend and I had been to his house with my dog, Lucy the day before he died. (cont. below

My dog who was always very loving and docile growled uncontrollably at the guy. It was so strange since she had never done that to him before. The next day he was dead. I often wondered if she somehow sensed his eminent death. It was an odd encounter.

Animals can sense thing we humans can't. Yes I am sure your dog sensed death near. They are more in tune with nature then we are and have a better sense of the baser emotions then we do. I am sorry about your friend, I had a very similar experience, Seeing a friend one day then the next learning of his death. And yes the Beatle's song you spoke of is very similar in its meaning. I always liked the song too.
