This is pretty fucking awful. First Lady Gaga and now this. Seriously, fuck U2. They haven't made any decent music for the past several years. And Alicia Keyes recently ruined Bond themes with that twat Jack White. The best cover I've heard of this was Sinead O'conner and Willie Nelson, it didn't surpass the original but neither did it fuck it up like this.

@donnygull Absolutely .. or all the probably hundreds of versions by different line-ups out there .. first time I've heard this version .. really like it .. somehow it feels more positive and hopeful than the original .. excellent Alicia & Bono, and all of the musicians playing on it .. but then of course you couldn't have this one without the original .. all good!

Not bad, but a little too "updated" and showy. As much as I like U2 and Keyes, this can't touch Peter Gabriel's version featuring Kate Bush. (two favorites of mine, so I might be abit biased). Willie Nelson with Sinead... that one was kinda kinky, despite my love for Willie and his style... more enjoyable than this, but still not as good as Peter's.

Actually, it is better than I thought it was. It is difficult to cut through the Bobo/Keyes glamor . . . I wish they would just sing rather than pose, if you catch my drift.

I like the piano here. Personally, I prefer the Willie Nelson/Sinead O'connor duo because Willie talk-sings and his gravitas lends weight to the song.
