avid will do this just fine! Set your HVX to 720 / 24 PN... the N is the key.... do not use 720 / 24 P..... it won't work! check out avid dot come slash p2
Believe me, after this week I'm one step away form FCP. They seem to have worked a lot of their bugs out since v4, but for what I do I have to have decent color correction, and their new color system looks close but not there yet.

one hint to fix a lot of the problems you had with avid is to not use it, because it's terrible.
go standard and start using fcp

@44R0N hahaha, reading this in the year 2012's kinda funny. Adobe screwed up with FCP X and Avid's still horrible. I like my Premiere Pro.
