@waveslayer91 People were surfing before and after the comp, I was there for 2 weeks saw it all. It's so easy for people to judge situations from a seat in front of a computer, but this wave is only ridden properly by a handful of people on the bigger days.
He's actually over 30 now. Too much partying when he was younger... may have missed that window for the crown... he's going to have to push crazy hard for it now... All the Aussie's are on fire and Slater's always a contender and no doubt hungry as fuck for the tenth... which I've got to say, despite being an Aussie I hope he gets... Taj or Parko otherwise for sure though!
Provided you could even make it out to the point, the current was so strong that only Slater, AI and a few others could even make the main take off at this wave. Yes Taj does make it look easy but the 100 other "normal" guys out there were not getting shit for tubes...
