Good thing I did this quest with Maglir, Battlethorn men-at-arms, a Night of the Nine, Dark Brotherhood Murderer, Mage Apprentice, the Jemane twins, the Four Everscamps, Shadowmere, Summoned Dremora Lord, Myself, a Clone of Myself, the Adoring Fan, Dar-Ma, Mazoga the Orc, Lady Rogbut gra-Shurgak, Brother Martin, Modryn Oreyn. As my followers and killed all those brethren people.

Does anybody know the story of hackdirt, because, about south of it is a house named weatherleah or something like that and it'sfull of bones and skeletons, and plus, in hackdirt, You will allways find bonemeal in all of the houses, so I assume they are cannibals but I have no Idea what the bretherns are, I tried asking around in chorol and the only thing I flund out is that the legion tried to burn the town. I tried looking in the books for Info but I found nothing.

The ppl of Hackdirt workship the Deep ones, which are some deformed creatures, they "change" from this workship, which is why their faces are so fucked up, and why the "brethren" look like monsters (face), they want to bring them back, but blood is required, so they want to sacrifice Dar-Ma. The deep ones are fish-monsters in the Innsmouth tale, there's a mod, cont

@1DarkArchmage1 (continuation) that is called Hackdit the deep ones, that installs several more caverns, in them you can find the deep ones themselves (a pretty good representation of lovecraft deep ones) and Cthulhu himself (unrealistic in Lovecraft stories, since ctulhu is buried in the middle of the ocean, but still fun).

To sum it up:

1 They are cultists of some strange fish demons, that would, i guess, fit the lore of TES as some daedra

2 They need sacrifice to bring back

3 deformed

@1DarkArchmage1 (another continuation) SPOILERS FROM ANOTHER QUEST. Weatherleah has nothing to do with Hackdirt, it's part of a series of quests involving the Remale (or some surname) brothers, who are twins, you can start this series of quests by taking to the drunken one who lives in chorrol, inside the Gray Mare.

Innsmouth (from the HPL story) is in fact a fishing town, while Hackdirt is in the middle of the forest, why is this ? no idea.

I hoped that cleared a bit up.

Hackdirt is so screwed up!

I got attacked by Natch Pinder (sp?) as soon as I arrived in the village so when I killed him I took his house key and headed over to his house to loot it. So, I was upstairs, minding my own business and about to head out (because there's nothing worth taking in there, except nirnroot), when like, 20 retards with clubs spawned in the damn house and started knocking the shit out of me.

I killed every one of those Hackdirt bastards when I escaped. It felt so good!

This quest is screwed up and you cut out the hardest bit, when I went up the ladder and into someones house the lizard chick was behind me then when I went outside shes suddenly miles away on her horse being attacked and by the time I get their she dies.

I'll never forget the day I was running around exploring, and came upon Hackdirt by accident. The town was eerily empty, and the people hanging around were very weird. I never went back to find out what was up, but that memory clearly sticks out in my mind.

you dont need to talk to seed neeus, you can just go directly to hackdirt and make her follow you and then she will activate the quest

I just found the trap door after finding the horse, rescued her, and took her back.

But thought it was shitty, when I went back I couldnt find anything out to further my information on 'the brethern' and all that.

Luckily I had a back save, so I re did it for the story...but messed up when I did the caves under Hackdirt, and it was like I was stealing from them...

And someone mentioned they got in trouble for killing them, you probably attacked 1 of the 3 that DONT attack YOU.

You missed a lot of the quest by doing so. The man in the Hackdirt shop was willing to help you at night. He would tell you more about Darma.

And then you're supposed to sleep at the hotel and wake up from there.

One of the best quest of the game! (if done properly =p)

What is the story behind Hackdirt? Who are the Brethren? I met them and so I know how they look like, but I mean, Why are they in Hackdirt? Why is everyone so grumpy? Because 'strangers' attacked him? Who are those 'outsiders'? And why do I hear scary music when I'm in one of their houses? And then their bible, what does it say? Why do they capture the daughter of Seed-anything? Just because she's an outsider? Really, there must be something more than just: 'We hate outsiders.'

This is a large nod to H.P. Lovecraft and the Cthulu mythos, if you read the bible in their church you will notice it has several incomprehensible runes past the first page, this is indeed a cult that worships the deep ones and Dar-Meena was merely a sacrifice to them.
