I agree one hundred percent and Woody Strode's mucsles were the real thing...he was one of the greatest of all round colored athletes in his young days and although he died at over 80 years a few years ago, he trained many of the stars of his days when they needed the improve thier fitness for action roles......I reckoned Man-to-Man :Pompy would have made ole Librety Valence eat his steak off the floor! even though he'd have to tangle with the great Lee Marvin to to it!!
Woody was one of the great character actors of this time (white, black or spotted). While he was excellent in the Professionals, I suspect he will best remembered as the doomed, but defiant .gladiator in Spartacus. I'm Spartacus!
Hi 9marbles, Woody Strode was also in Once Upon A Time In The West and dozens of other movies. He was a superstar athlete in his younger days and over the years he trained many movie stars when they were preparing for various film roles. People constantly talk about Sidney Poitier being the first black movie star and of course he won an oscar, but for me Woody Strode was one of the great screen tough guys and a fine actor as well. He was over eighty years old when he died some years ago.
