  • I just took a peek at your images on your web site, superb, really congratulations.

  • if your vids were on HD it was perfet!!!

  • The d300 have wonderfull lens manual focus

    imposible for d90

    I have 55mm macro F3.5

    and 85mm F2

  • what happened on 4:40 ??

  • Ummm no.

  • So I am a skateboard photographer, which of these 2 cameras would you recommend? I really do need the speed of the D300 but I don't normally set my own settings (I have a D80 and I leave it on AUTO the majority of the time), so I'm afraid that the time I have to take setting the camera will get my clients upset. Would you say that its rather easy to set the camera to take great pictures? Thanks.

  • Once you get the hang of it and understand the camera it is not that hard. I would get the nikon d300 in your case for the speed.

  • I have a D80 with an 18-200mm VR and 50mm 1.8D.

I have thought about upgrading to the D90, but that would mean i'd be sucked into consumerism.

So I looked at the D300 and D700. I love the viewfinder of the D700, however i'd have to buy some expensive full-frame lenses. So the D300 is a good choice for now, isn't it?

  • the nikon d90 is a great camera just as good as the d300 if you dont need speed. It doesnt matter if it is a consumer camera you dont need an expensive camera to take good pictures.

  • @StylusEcho18

    its all about the lens..

  • @alfredojajaja My attitude has changed in the past 9 months so yes, I agree.

  • Man, you scared me at 4.41 :D

  • really lmfao - what was that! serialK alert

  • lmfao me too :l

  • can we put on the D300 all type of lenses like : telephoto , zoom, wideangle ect ... ?

  • Isn't that the whole point of lens mounts?

  • Comment removed

  • Should I upgrade from the D2H to the D300?

  • If that is what you think you want

  • because i use it for taking F1 pics.. when they come around to my country, Singapore, and it's pretty dark in certain areas.. I didn't like the way the D2H handled noise.. does the D300 handle noise better?

  • I noticed that you said the D300 is scratch resistant compared to the D80.

Is this the same with the D90 compared to the D80? either way they all come with nice screen protectors :-)

  • pretty sure the d90 is scratch resistant.

  • My personal opinion on Live View is that...%@$#! (bang) Personally I love the Live View of the d300 :D

  • Great review ... Thanks ...

  • well, I upgraded from D80 and D300...

the D300 Rocks... yet I use the D80 every now and then

  • I think I just ruined my keyboard from drooling all over it....

I really wanted it but now I really really really really really really really want it...

  • Hey !

    Thanks for the great job.

It's excellent to find a nice long and detailed review on this camera.

As I'm considering one , I will really look forward to you upcoming addition's to this review. I'm trying to imagine what sort of basic lens kit I should assemble for a 300D.

I would like a macro and a 300 telephoto.I take nature picture's and have been using a Fuji S9000 with it's fixed multilens.

    Thank's !!

    Thank's for the great video.

  • now that u got ur D300 do u even really use ur D80 that much?

  • I have no need for two body, so I sold the d80.

  • really nice presentation, thanks. let's see more!

  • hi again, im not sure if you will be able to help me but i would like to update my camera i have a choice of 2 cameras and i am confused as to which one to buy 1st choice is D300 and 2nd choice is D2XS both of them i like just one is older than the other i know all quite alot about both but picture quality wise which ones better? i hope you can help thanks

  • This is a decent review, but it's just funny how you over-explain things.

  • It's GREAT review, especially for those of us who appreciate deail as well as those of us who are new to DLSR.

  • great great great video !!

  • Thanks for ALL the info...I have a D40X that I like alot BUT there are alot of features that the D300 has that I wish my D40X has....SO I am going to buy the D300 in a couple of months :-)

  • 4:40 ha

  • great review.

  • Hahaha What up at the 4.40 min ????

  • Thank you! I'm currently fantasizing about owning a D300 and your review is really appreciated. You clearly are very knowledgeable in this area and i want to say thanks for sharing!

  • What lens is that??

  • Seems to be the 18-200mm VR.

  • Where can I see soem of the images you take with these cameras?

  • dont have a website with images yet.

  • Make some on Youtube though

  • it would be pointless because youtube videos are rubbish quality

  • just insert "&fmt=18" after the url then whatch

  • not if you click watch in high quality

  • im not going to upgrade to a d300 but the D3X when it comes out because i dont thing that the 2 MPX and the 3.5 or 8 FPS its a big thing for me but 4 or 6 MPX more than the 10 would be better but the FPS i would not us. because the only thing (now) that i do is nature.

  • You could use the FPS for animals that run around in nature ;)

  • The D300 and the D3 process images in a better way. There's virtually no noise at high ISO's. 3200 iso has less noise than my D200 at 1600. A D80 to a D300 is a huge jump IMHO.

  • Why dont you wait for the D3Xs then!

  • Nice job on the videos, I upgraded to my Nikon D300 just a few weeks ago, I'm still getting familiar to the settings. I'd like to check out your photo library on flicker or other let us know. thanks,

  • only thing i would suggest is to compare the bodies both with body caps on.

  • You just punched me on 4:40 ^_^

  • lol

  • Once again nice review. I'm also upgrading from a D80 to the D300 and I'm really excited.

  • I will be getting the D300 with an 18-200mm lens at Christmas. I've always had a Nikon film camera, and the last one was a digital point and shoot, I am a little concerned that I will not be able to know how to use some of the settings on this fantastic camera, did you find the settings easy to get to know?

  • I suggest you just read the manual because when I got my first nikon I had no idea how to control it properly.

  • You just punched Pavek on 4:40

  • Thanks very much, by the looks of the size of the manual, I'm going to be reading for quite some time. !!

  • Good reviewer!

  • I want to. and am planing to do so soon once I learn how to set stuff like that up.

  • What do you do with your pictures once you take them, I post mine online, do you?
