10 minutes? if that caused injury and refs judged it was intent to injure that kid could be out for weeks

Actually, under Rule 6.4(a) any check from behind is a Game Misconduct.

I officiate in Alberta
It's 2+GM or 5+GM or Match at referee's discretion, 5+GM for an injury.

that happend to me but i went head first. The kid got suspended and i got a concussion.

yeah that happened to me to, but I didn't get a concusion, I just really bent my neck and I couldn't move for a few seconds because my whole body felt like a foot when it falls asleep, but the guy only got a 2 minute minor; thats state college reffing, and I was on the home team.
