Very nice. I'm first generation anime. I grew up with the origional Gigantor, Kimba the White Lion and Speed Racer.

The announcer is wrong, it should have been "World War 2". As far as Tetsujin (Gigantor) 26 (& 27) did survive and fell into the hands of villains. Yes I remember the series very well.
Calling us oldsters Reggie, that is in bad taste. ;-)
