  • Sorry man, but that was bad, slow & painful

  • 0-60 in 12 sec haha

  • my moms chevy 4x4 blazer csn smoke that.it gets up to 60 in 5.7 seconds.

  • 7 sec 0-60 and 100 in 13 seconds? That's not bad at all! I really don't like 3.1's I think they're crap compared to a 3800 but that's pretty impressive.

  • 100km/h in this Canadian car is 62mph......

  • @IDIDieselJohn Jesus Christ you're right. That is now officially worse than watching Hillary Clinton fuck a polar bear.

  • How is this not respectable? I counted 0 to 60 in 7sec.

  • @smithraymond09029 60kmh mabey hahaha fuckin stupid american

  • wow it has 3.1 and it takes ''century'' to hit 100?

  • POS

  • That's the most painful 0-60 I have ever seen.

  • This was my first car and i can tell you first hand speed is gunna be the least of your problems. So many things will go wrong with this car.

  • i hav a century just like urs, hav 400 000kms on the same stock motor it came with originally. great smooth ride! still able to do 60mph no problem! lovin it!

  • i think my EGR valve is on is way too, does the car lope when it idled?

but i still have tons of power

  • This one always idled perfectlly fine, nice and smooth.

  • yehh wasnt so bad it was FUCKEN HORRABLE A HYUNDAI GETS WOULD OF BEATEN THAT NO WORRIES .

  • They're supposed go 0-60mph in 9 seconds not 18 seconds hahaha.

  • I can understand why the car is called century it takes a century to get to 60, haha

  • @Rarrin9378 fuck you,i hit 95 today in mine in 16 seconds

  • may not be the fastest engine out there, but the 3.1 does sound pretty decent when you get on it

  • i could tell that it wasnt letting you go b.c i can hit 60 in about 9sec with my 01

  • i was really stoned at the time lol when you smoke the dope i smoke your i.q. plummets

  • wtf!!! my century only goes up to 120 lol 200! my ass

  • your not too bright huh?

  • its kmh not mph

  • @WooZIE997 dumbass

  • @WooZIE997 Dude its Kilometers.

  • I had a lumina with this engine and it also spun a bearing. EGR went on my 2005 century with this engine as well. Got great gas mileage, though.

  • Thanks for posting this. I have this exact car and I have always been wondering about this problem. I would just be going at 35 for an extended period of time, then the speed limit would change and then when I stepped on the pedal it would just start to "stutter", so I have let off and the hit the gas again. So annoying.

  • Yep exactlly what this car did, or when taking off at a red light when the engine was fully warmed up.

Since we changed the EGR, it stoped doing it for about a month, then it started doing it again worst than ever, I'm sure it's do to an electrical problem, lots of lights will light up in the dash, and randomlly down the road, they'll turn off, or sometimes we start 'er up, no lights are on and down the road they light up, sometimes none of 'em are on for long periodes.

  • @IDIDieselJohn you need a new ignition switch

  • has to be ki

    lometers per hour

  • hmmm, thats kind of odd, my 92 3.3 goes 0-100in 6-7sec

  • i have a 2002 and it soes 6-7 to but he said their something wrong with his in the description

  • Interesting speed gauge, i never seen one that goes up to 200 in increments of 20 on a Buick century.

  • That's Kilometres BTW.

  • Ohh wow. i never even though of that, wow i feel stupid.

  • May be slow but you can't kill a 3.1!

  • i have an 02 with the 3.1 - ive had to replace it twice. its one of the worst v6's that GM has ever produced because its a 60 degree engine and the cylinder walls are to thin which makes it more prone to throwing rods and knocking.

  • i also can vouch for this.. rip 99

  • twm409... What?! You are one dumb S.O.B.! The 3.1L's are GREAT engines. The only problem they had was they were prone to sucking INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKETS, and then leaking coolant. If you took care of the problem, then all was well. If you continued to run the engine until you overheated it or blew it from ruining the bearings with coolant contamination, that is pretty much YOUR OWN STUPIDITY! I've had FOUR 3.1L V-6's over the years & every one has gone over 200,000 miles with no major issues!

  • for some reason i dont believe you. owning four different cars with the same engine and driving all four over 200,000 miles with no problems seems to be stretching the truth a little. and when i tore down the first engine with the spun bearing the intake gasket was fine. the cars only tended to develop this around 70,000 miles and mine was in the 60's. not to mention it was pre-owned by a grandma. i respect your opinion but their just not reliable cars.

  • This 3.1 did already go through the intake gasket @ around 65k. Now has a lilttle over 100k and other than some electrical problems with the computer and runs perfect.

  • head gaskets shitty with the 3.1's to

  • @superturbodiesel my intake gasket blew on me, took me like 5 hours and got it fixed

  • @mmz77

Wrong, check out my video hahaha

    I did just that somehow.

  • @mmz77

I do not have any luck with this GM motors.

3.0 L Buick 1985 Century: bad computer. Broken plastic timing gear at 90K!

3.1 L 1990 Chevy Corsica = OK, Car accident total lost at 30 K miles.

3.1 L 1995 Chevy Lumina,1996 Monte Carlo, 1998 Lumina, 2002 Malibu all have bad intake manifold gaskets..

3.1 L 1998 Lumina bad oil pump/ motor is ruined.

3.1 L 2002 Malibu bad AC, very noisy suspension.

I did not know I stayed with GM product !

  • Still a nice car!

  • 13 secs

  • Was that you.....doing that? lol....I wonder how my '95 Olds Cierra would fair out....doing that.....lol..It has not been on the road in quite a few yrs............ :)

  • on my i pod, it counted 11.83 seconds to 60.

    its very underpowered!

  • On your ipod lol ok... anyway IT'S A LOT FASTER NOW!! fuckin EGR!

  • yea it has a stopwatch wiseass

  • i didn't know they used EGR on gasoline engines!

  • You didn't lol, they have been since the 70's only V8's in those years but these days all truck/cars has an EGR even diesels, befor the Ford Power Strock generation, the diesels didn't have the EGR like in my 1990 F250 7.3 IDI, it doesn't have an EGR.

  • Well although, i do remember seeing something funny on the exhaust manifold of my dads ford which has a 390 V8 on it.

  • That would be a cat, it's also for reducing emissions. The EGR is on the engine block.

  • no no the cat sits behind the exhaust manifold, this round thing sat in front of it as if it was some connection to something in the engine compartment.

  • Ok yeah that's what it is, it's round and theres a tube or pipe that goes from it back in the engine.

  • definetely would love to see how its running with the EGR mod.

  • You mean without the EGR, it's only disconnected but anyway Now she rolls :D I'll do a vid of it when I get the chance.

  • hmm she's not bad lol

  • these cars will supprise ya! my 91 is not bad either.

  • Now that the EGR is disconnected is has some balls now.

  • That's not that bad. I did not know you were in canada.

  • Yeah lol i'm close to Davesfarm :D

  • not bad!

  • sounds like my car!!!!LOL my chevy

my dads buick got a 3.8

  • Hope yours in faster lol.

  • LOL!!!! my corsica is an HO 3.1 3.8's haul ass!!!

  • 3.8's always hauls ass, look at Daves 3.8 van lol. This one hauls ass not to bad now that we unpluged the damn EGR valve, as long as your ass is not to fat LOL!! but yeah now it has some go power :D

  • man wata basic dash i hate relying on idiot lights

  • Yeah I know what you mean.

  • Nothen runs like a Buick..lol..

  • Haha ya you said it... nothing runs slower then a Buick LOL.

  • very true...lol

  • I think the whole problem is the "nut behind the wheel" (haha!!)

  • Can't be to nutty behind the wheel of this slow Buick lol.

  • Pedal To The Metal, but wheres the super de duper acceleration? Took 5 seconds to get to 60MPG. Anyways, thanks for sharing!

    Peace :)

  • Bad EGR valve=hessitation on acceleration.

  • Oh I see, didn't Dave make a video about how to deal with EGR valves? Well, coolies Peace :)

  • Yes he did, i've watch it many times lol. We'll see what we can do. We'll see how it runs without it and if it runs better we'll leave it disconnected and I'll redo a 0-60.

  • A turbo would fix that, but hey its good enough.

  • Ha ya lol My Ford truck does WAY better.

  • I don't think thats the engine..... The tranny might not be the best match that seems a little slow check for a clogged cat..........

  • It's the EGR valve that doesn't open at the right time when you take off from 0

  • That will do it.... What does the dealer say?

  • Dealer?? Why would he say something. My mom bought this car back in 2005 and it's never been back to any dealer since. We'll take a look at that our selfs.

  • Get rid of the egr!

  • Nice video...

    Great engine sound..

    100km??

    Whats the limit

  • You mean, what's the top speed?? I don't know, we never went faster than 140km with this car. I'm sure it would be able to do at least 180-190km/h.

  • I think my Lincoln could give that a run for it's money, no offense, just being honest :P

  • LOL any day. Daves 3.8 van can beat this thing lol
