You just helped my arguement! The race of people that live in Africa have darker skin because of the heat and the Sun they experience their compared to the rest of the planet. That is Evolution at its best; centuries ago, those that had darker skin in Africa had an easier time in life and so were able to pass their genes on more effiecently. That is the difinition of Evolution! (By the way, for those that will scream false, Natural Selection and Evolution go hand in hand.)

In fact you can't believe every word in the bible, the Bagvadhgita, the Qur'an, and the Torah (as absolute truth) because there are so many contradictions in each. Therefore the only way is to take bits and pieces from a religion which isn't absolute (since men are fallible).

Evolution and the Big Bang can't be proven, yet archeology has shown us time and time again that what's written in many parts of the Bible is true. It seems to me that most people just don't want to face the fact that they might have been living life wrong this whole time, so they deny the obvious.

Archaeology has not proven anything from the Bible as being accurate, There are barely any historical records really talking about any events in your Bible besides other irreligious texts. Religious texts are not evidence. There is more evidence to say that the Bible was written in the 1400's, not 40-60 C.E. Read a fucking book or search the internet. Fucking idiot.

You just helped my arguement! The race of people that live in Africa have darker skin because of the heat and the Sun they experience their compared to the rest of the planet. That is Evolution at its best; centuries ago, those that had darker skin in Africa had an easier time in life and so were able to pass their genes on more effiecently. That is the difinition of Evolution! (By the way, for those that will scream false, Natural Selection and Evolution go hand in hand.)

The basic principles of evolution have withstood 150 years of scientific scrutiny, and is as robust as newtons theory of motion, or the theory of electricity (Yup the thing you use to power your computer is a theory) in the scientific community.

Look up articles about our 2nd chromosome (in humans) which is the fusion of two primate chromosomes. While I sure that it's astronomically improbable that there is a god, I'm not trying to say you shouldn't believe in one. I'm only trying to help you understand that evolution is proven, and hopefully to stop you from hating scientists.

@tehubernessofuber the point is that we actually share chromosomes with primates not that we simply have some in common. Our second chromosome is actually a fusion of two primate chromosomes. And again yes I do think it's fine to believe in a god, The problem I have is when people start preaching absolutism, blinding themselves from any alternative other than their narrow belief. It's even more frustrating when these same people try to influence public policy based on narrow minded absolutism.

When we were united under a common belief and set of morals, things -weren't- this bad. Things are only getting better, that's not to say that there aren't problems but things have been much worse. And yes, you are right, a good christian should examine his belief however (and this is unfortunate for all parties) most Christians I have meet haven't even read the entire bible. In fact surveys estimate that only 10% have read the whole bible.

In fact a recent Gallup survey showed 77% of Americans identify themselves as christian. While 86% of congress is christian according to the Pew research center. @tehubernessofuber Yes you have to feel it gives some knowledge in some fashion. However, this does not mean that you have to believe everything your particular religion has to offer. In fact you can't believe every word in the bible, the Bagvadhgita, the Qur'an, and the Torah (as absolute truth) because there are so many contradictions in each. Therefore the only way is to take bits and pieces from a religion which isn't absolute (since men are fallible).

However you can also use the same methodology scientists use to prove your beliefs. It's a two way street it's not like the scientific method is against you in some way.
