  • The counselor makes the superintendent's case. He's been there 15 years and hasn't solved anything.

  • This broad is a nut job...she is hurting the students...she wants the Teachers & Staff to stay thru the end of the school yr....screw that I hope they tell her to pound salt up her ass! Let her go teach the entire HS herself...she has all the answers...go prove it!

    The HS district has a graduation rate under 55 percent, teachers make almost THREE TIMES the median income, and the Teacher's Union refused to work an extra 25 minutes a day (for which they would be paid).

    Ergo the superintendent addressed the problem: the teachers. Though I can tell from your post the facts are too bothersome for you to meddle with, just stick with the appeals to emotion and blind populism.

  • @PiratesWonderful read the article(s) & Listened to Gallo speak several times. I was following this story since it started weeks before the actual Firing Event. I made my OPNION based on all I had read & heard. This was about alot more then 25 min, There are much more serious issues. Obviously you haven't been following the story from the begining.

    ERGO I'm not surprised you can't meddle your way through the difference between Fact vs. Opinion. Just stick to hiphop rap ice skating OY!

  • No, you are right. The Superintendent is hurting students in a district with one of statistically lowest HS grad rates in the nation by FIRING THOSE RESPONSIBLE.

    I also read the articles (the ones without pictures and coloring sections you "read") and have a buddy whom lives in the district- they are happy about this and supportive of the Superintendent's decision since they have been fighting the Teacher's Union for YEARS.

    Don't let that stop you from making your poorly formed conclusion.

The conditions are adding 25 minutes to the school day, providing tutoring on a rotating schedule before and after school, eating lunch with students once a week, submitting to more rigorous evaluations, attending weekly after-school planning sessions with other teachers and participating in two weeks of training in the summer.

    That is what I read. Seems like pretty good ideas to me if your school is that dysfunctional.

  • If the teaching method is the problem change it. Thats what tries to happen at my school.
